thank you so much for your tutorial. it helped so much. i dont know why putting only the id didn´t work localy but when i put the relay field with the port magically worked like charm. Thank you for your work!!!!!!
I'm loving this pi-hosted series. Perfect timing for this video. I just binged all of your playlist in the last few days. I've got a Pi 4-8 GB with a SSD ( I'll switch over to a NVMe 2tb once I plan out the additional power mod for the USB cable) that I'm planning on jumping in both feet to be my first home lab. I just connected with your discord server and plan on getting started this weekend. Keep up the great content and thanks for the hours and hours of great information so far!
Thanks Don. Great work! I am running the relay on a Debian 10. RustDesk is great! To make is easier for Windows users, I changed the name of the windows executable to include the server and public key. This allows them to use RustDesk securely without having to make any additional settings. By the way, we are using ID Server and Key only. AFAIK the relay server isn't required.
I personnaly use parsec for RDP and it works amazing, but seeing this option I might give it a try it looks pretty good! One option I would love to see with RDP is USB port forwarding/tunneling, maybe a feature for later?
@@NovaspiritTech i will ! Btw After i quick search i found your video about usbip, thats Amazing, only issue, doesnt seem to work on Android, close to being perfect !
If tunneling works without Admin rights and their encryption is good, than it's a banger remoting into homelab without exposing ports for sensitive apps. Also, I'm not seeing any mentions of 2FA support, hope it is at least a priority in dev.
I've been trying to get nginx proxy manager + duckdns setup for remote access to my docker containers, but because I use an Eero router, this has been very difficult/impossible to do without using a static IP. THIS is MUCH better and offers the same remote access to my containers!
Hi there, how are you? I am following you up on this Rustdesk setup. Sadly, due to an update around mid June, it looks like your solution is no longer working. I am getting a "Key mismatch" connection error once I try to connect a machine on my LAN. Machine is showing up in Rustdesk Client. Can you please help me troubleshoot that?
I may be wrong but i think that trying to install the image provided on the website for arm64 on a stock raspberry pi 4 leads you into dependency hell as you get a message that required files "will not be installed" or something like that...
@Novaspirit Tech , which list are you using in Portainer for RustDesk to pop up? I've added multiple different once but yet to find one with the RustDesk template in it.
thank you for this useful video, I managed to apply the server. every works fine on windows computers, but if i want to install the client on raspberry pi 4 i get an error, somewhat translated in english: installation failed. there was no packet found that allows to finish the action. anyone know how to install the client on raspberry pi 4?
how i can install a server of rustdesk in Windows, can you make one vídeo please i'd like to know how do that and make one server of rustdesk in my pc but i dont know how i can do that, can you show us?!! thanks a lot.
Almost there, as this won’t work on properly secured networks (ports not allowed to communicate outwards). We need a solution that only uses HTTPS port and SSL.
Hello, can you or any of your viewers recommend me a solution to turn an old set of speakers connected to the 3.5mm jack to bluetooth and/or airplay compatible.. Thanks 🙌🏻
hello my dumb friend. Rustdesk does work fine behind firewalls, this video is a tutorial on how to install the server which is not available for teamviewer or anydesk, both of which would require port forwarding if they were available. You do not need to setup a server to use rustdesk, nor any firewall stuff, it'll work as is if you just want to use the client. Have fun and ofc try to learn to read/listen and not be dumb, good luck!
How do you know it's a chinese developer? On Google Play it says it's based in Indonesia and on the main site there's a note of copyright by Purslane Ltd. Besides, the project is open source and this should expose any attempt to "talk home". Please correct me if I'm wrong.

a lot of ram there, my devices run a bunch of stuff and use like 500mb.. lol
How did the power mod go? Any documentation of any sort? I’m just getting myself into this hosted series!
Thanks Don. Great work!

Hi, I have seen you in Discord. Awesome thanks for all the help!

It can probably be requested via there issue board on gurhub

Will you make a video to configure self-hosted relay server on windows?
Thanks a lot. Installation of Docker, Portainer and Rust was done easily thank to your video

Dude I do networks for a living and this blew my hair back

Thank you for these videos they are the best quality in this category and very important and educational.
Preconfigured thing would be great if I could ever get it to work. Everytime I tried the fields were still blank.

Thanks for this video. I may have missed it, but does this app transport sound bi-directionally?
Another great PiHosted series. This is going to be so helpful. Thanks again Don.
Hi anyone knows why I can't find rustdesk in Portainer APP Templates?
love the vid
i went and did it
just curious why rustdesk would delete my /usr/sbin folder turning my CorsairOne into an overpriced brick.
Does it support 2FA? Not seeing a lot of settings in the client side, wondering if more features are on the self-hosted server.
the tunnelling feature is huge
Very close to impossible to run a Rustdesk server, which is necessary since input lag is massively huge on default servers. It's sad.

pi-hosted template it was added on this list about 2 weeks ago

Would the remote window Create another user profile on the remote window?
Can you please build from source for linux platform client application
What linux desktop are you using?
how i can install a server of rustdesk in Windows, can you make one vídeo please i'd like to know how do that and make one server of rustdesk in my pc but i dont know how i can do that, can you show us?!! thanks a lot.
I've had bad luck with vnc & xrdp in Linux.
Almost there, as this won’t work on properly secured networks (ports not allowed to communicate outwards).
We need a solution that only uses HTTPS port and SSL.
Then you need to set up a home VPN, and then it would only need to talk to the VPN and can keep the entire network internal.
tha'ts how i have it setup, i use it on via my home vpn
If you use the public relay, do you need to port forward?
nope, only if you plan on hosting private
Great work!
You know i have watched this twice already but i think i lost you after about the first fiver min :D :D

Get a two channel power amp and connect speakers make sure power amp have bluetooth and 3.5 mm input
Perfect video!!
None of apps are working, can't install anything
Heartbeat over TCP? Hmmm.
👍👍👍👍
Teamviewer, Anydesk, etc. working behind firewalls. Rustdesk doesnt work behind firewalls. So its useless.
You can open the proper ports you know.

I'll pass. chinese developer
Yes but if you have proper firewall rules with geo ip blocking it can never talk home.
But it's fine if the US government spies on you? double standards, buddy
