Yes unfortunately a shotty inexperienced executioner made a hot mess of the job and that was down right wrong and horrible and not justified at all but I will say that the fact that Margret pole had to be chased around the scaffold is defiant and unacceptable. if I was the executioner I would be annoyed with Margret. When a death warrant signed the prisoner can’t escape execution no matter what. No executioner wishes to have to chase a defiant prisoner around the scaffold particularly because that makes be- heading the prisoner more difficult to do cleanly because the prisoner is moving around. I am not in any way justifying the inexperienced shotty executioner’s actions. But I also believe Margret pole was wrong to be defiant and running away from the executioner and giving him a hard time carrying out the execution. Typically people wouldn’t run from being arrested in modern day. Typically people wouldn’t be able to fight lethal injection if a death warrant had been signed in modern times if the government has the death penalty. In general if a prisoner moves during execution no matter what method being carried out moving during execution and trying to escape can easily lead to botched executions. There are many factors that were not okay on both sides.
To be fair, we don't need to call Henry VIII a monster - it goes without saying that he was a monster, and you won't really find a brit who is going to argue against that.
Neither his son Edward or his two daughters Mary and Elizabeth showed any interest in building that grand tomb that Henry ordered to be built in St. George's chapel Windsor.
I read that a lot of the nobility were not happy to be summoned to attend the king's court. There was a saying at that time that the nearer to the king the nearer your neck was to the block.
She was very brave and betrayed . Her revenge would come from the reign of ELIZABETH 1. I only hope from the other side she could witness the QUEEN ELIZABETH was ….
You know Henry VIII was a likeable prince and then he became violent after a terrible head injury in a jousting match at least that's the schooling I got in 00s UK.
Margaret Pole or Margaret Plantagenet NOT York did not write a poem on her cell walls. She was housed in The Kings rooms due to her high status. Please fact check your videos.
His treatment of Margaret Pole was horrible! He really wanted to get to her son, but he was in France.

I just love it when the British refer to Richard the Third as a monster, but give Henry the Eighth a pass.

NEVER give psycopaths ultimate power.
Sociopaths also.
I couldn’t imagine. Living on those days .. like walking on eggs , Henry was a Brutal Heartless king .

The audio going from far away sounding to right up in my head gave me a jumpscare. Just "she will not be forgotten....ANNE SAT IN THE TOWER-" 😅😂
A murderer of mass proportions who was allowed to run rampant. At least we've evolved beyond that or have we?
This terrible man , killed one of my ancestors which was Anne Boleyn
