I have a 37 gallon black out aquarium with nothing but 7 orange zebra cichlids and one bristlenose albino absolutely love it and they are extremely hearty.. highly recommend especially for beginners
Cool!
I really like yellow labs. If I had a tank big enough I would probably do a species only setup for them. If I ever get that 40 breeder it’s on the list.
African Cichlids are one of my favorite species of fish along with large American Cichlids North, Central and South, but the only Americans I have right now are a couple Angel fish with a couple of Electric Blue Acara , and a couple of male Turkana Jewel Cichlids from Lake Turkana which is a lake in East Africa. Those guys are all set up in a 55gal and all seem pretty happy with very little aggression from the Turkana.
*Extremely* helpful and informative, just the kind of info I’d give myself! 👏
I don’t think I’ll ever be keeping cichlids myself (except maybe kribensis) but I definitely thought of a 55-gallon mbuna setup would be a great option for a beginner
Very interesting, never had any Cichlids.
Cichlids are awesome as long as you have the right set up. I have a 125 g Mbuna tank. Some of the best colors for fresh water fish. Most aggression I’ve experienced is same species or if they are breeding. Haven’t really had trouble otherwise. Oh and they will breed as he says. Yellow Labs & Yellow Tail Acei are very easy starter fish.
Nice!
Hi good video i'm try to breeding bravos Shell dweller but i have don't luck with them do You can help me with advise
Sounds cool. My daughter’s favorite color is yellow and she wants a species only yellow lab tank. In your opinion should I talk her into adding a few more compatible species? Also, Have a 60 breeder tank available. Should I look for something a little bigger or could that work?
Nice
Beautiful fish!
nice video!
I love Cichlids. Great video
Great video! Looking forward to the more in depth look at the Lake Victoria variety. I have a 75 gallon tank with around 23-27 Mbuna with a ton of hiding spots and want to add a species 44. Haven’t pulled the trigger yet because I am clearing out my 29 to use as a hospital/jail tank.
One of my all time favorite fish!
Great information and great overall video! I kept Kribensis in a community 40g tank and they bred almost right away, then their babies had babies when I put them in a 75 with geophagus tapajos and a red shoulder severum. It was one of my favorite set ups I’ve had.
Currently have a blue dolphin mixed with an electric blue acara, red shoulder severum, and yes…hatchet fish. It’s a really cool combination I was kind of forced into with circumstances from my other tanks, didn’t think it would work out but it did! Such a fun hobby.
Awesome footage. Great info :)
Thank you!
❤❤
Mbunas are the best!! That’s all!!
Awesome beginner guide Jason
Thank you!

I really like your channel, it's helped me a lot with keeping aquariums. Quick question, what camera do you use for filming?
Thank you! I primarily use a Sony A7III with Sony lens.
