What Peter yells Kurtz...ah man. You can feel the horror and sadness.

For me the most emotional part was when Peter removed his Iron Cross as though he believed he was unworthy of it.
Either he wanted Kurtz to have it or he hated it so much that he decided he was better off without such petty trinkets

"Kertz! Kertz!" The voice actor was amazing. They perfectly expressed the emotion in that scream. An already broken man rushing to his fallen friend, realizing he was right. It's almost like Darth Vader at the end of Return of the Jedi
Fucking right! I felt that pain in the mans voice. It's a time when they realise that they have had enough, kid was just young though. I get so tired of the 'every german was killing babies' narrative. It's bliss to see some humanity finally being shown on the german side, at last! The real truth!
Actually, Schroder didn't kill Peter since Peter narrates the story time to time throughout the story, the gunshots you hear at the end is the U.S. soldiers shooting and possibly killing Schroder, Schroder was too slow to kill Müller.
Ironic though it sounds like the MP-40, however. Suppose to give that feeling the Schroder killed Peter.
I always assumed it was Peter telling the story from heaven, or hell.

He knows what He's done and nothing is going to wash it off his hands. He knew his fight was over.
At the end he sounds more like a confused and terrified kid. He was trained to not tolerate any defeatism and did it as an instinct. He didn’t chose to live in the world he did.

Good ending: Schroder is shot dead by the American soldiers, while Peter is taken prisoner, and put in an allied POW camp

Peter didn’t die. Schroder was too slow, and the bullet noise are the US Soldiers. It’s implied since the noise of the gun isn’t the same as the one in Schroder’s rifle.

Out of all the other single player missions in V the part where ge shouts for Kertz and runs over was just heartbreaking.
Kertz and müller were honestly bonded tighter than the armour on that tank, and I was heartbroken by Peter's reaction to kertz being shot.

Bro I finished this and at the end man it’s deep the best campaign out of all of them not just the gameplay but the story the plot all of that and I like to feel that at the end peater was alive do to the Americans shooting the dude in the tank

People, just because someone narrates the story doesn't mean they're alive. Half the time it's done for dramatic effect and good storytelling

According to google, it was pretty common for allied forces to pick up weapons from deceased enemy combatants when their rifles or side arms ran out of ammunition. meaning one U.S soldier probably shot Schröder with an MP40

Peter was already cracking, but this did it in. He was just done with the war, done with fighting. He couldn't believe the lie of "we need to show strength" anymore, because it was obvious they were losing and have lost. They aren't fooling anyone, not even themselves anymore.
