Spring Trip 2023

- We are heading to the Camp a little early again this year, but that must mean one thing, it's time for the "It's Go Time" Camp Spring Trip 2023. No canoe trip this year, concentrated on doing some trout fishing each morning.
Picked up @Sintax77 and we drove up to the cabin, later joined by the the Chairman and CampCook (Mike and Steve).
After a quick breakfast we headed down to Pine Creek to see if we could get one some fish. CampCook caught three that we brought back to camp to add to the Pork Chop dinner. We did stop at the Burnin' Barrel for a good lunch, Mike and Steve did some golfing that afternoon. The pork chops, bacon wrapped asparagus, corn and some bread-sticks hit the spot along with those fresh trout. Sat out by the campfire after dinner for some good conversation.
The next morning a quick stop at the Wellsboro diner, then back to Blackwell where we did a little better. I put some minerals out for the deer, as well as setting up a game camera. On to Tony's for a pizza, a cheese-steak Stromboli, and some wings. As always Tony knows how to cook it up right.
Saturday morning we hit the hot spot at Blackwell and all did great. We all caught trout, and Shawn caught his first one on the fly rod. It felt good to be out on the water again after that long layoff.
Dutch, I mean Steve slow roasted some chicken, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts that afternoon in the rain.
The guys left the next day, Shawn and I stayed to clean up a bit and get in some good Father and Son time.
Shawn and I really liked the 8Fans fishing products that they sent us. No issues and everything performed as designed. Check out 8Fans at:

I'm surprised you guys didn't buy any Bud Light. I heard the Chairman is a big fan of Dylan Mulvaney. 🤣
They really did it on that one, I once said I could drink Bud or Busch if I had to and nothing else. Well I guess that changed for now... If you're interested in one of those custom pillowcases the wife made let me know.
Hahaha
Really enjoyed this video
Thanks John!
That clover will help the turkey population out greatly !!!
Hoping so, a lot of rain over the last few days, will see how it does.
Good Stuff, some of my favorite things in life are good food, good friends and Mother nature and when you can combine them together what a bonus. thanks for sharing.
Thanks, hope you enjoy. Great time with the guys, looking forward to more trips up.
old school Schlitz,,,love it!!!
Really not too bad, has a bit of a sweet taste.
Great video, guys! How about Camp Cook making some decent meals and catching some nice trout? Well done, Camp. I won't bring up the weight until deer season. For now, you're safe but the clock is ticking!
"Dutch" did ok again this trip, though I think he is hedging his bet with the dutch oven. Hard to burn things in there with a gallon of liquid poured in. He is looking a little plump, haha.
Hahahahahaha
I scroll through all the comments just to see teampenn and I’ll take it all as a compliment!
I’ve still offered Chairman a shirts off contest and yet he continues to decline.
@@Campcook20 I'm not trolling you, Camp! You said in 2018 that you were coming back at 195lbs. I'm holding you to it. In all seriousness, you should look into the carnivore diet. Find videos about it on RUclips. It works. Trust me on this. You have until deer season to get back into shape or I'll be brutal. Nice job this trip though. You did great.
@@teampenn2007 thanks man! And 195 ain’t happening!!!
Can’t believe I missed this video. Another great video!
Looks like a great fishing trip with some top notch grub. Such beautiful country in that area.
Regards
Mark
Well, glad you caught up on that one, we had some fun and caught a few fish while we were at it.
Heck yeah! The boys are back!!
Was a good time with the guys, time goes fast while you're there. Seems like you just get there, and then are packing up to head home.
Good to see you back after the trout!
Getting the hang of it again, had fun this year.
Boy you guys really hammered the fish. Good job.
Took a day or to, but we did fairly well. Glad to be back in the water again.
Tom that was me that had mentioned for chairman to do three Square meals in one day. I appreciate you remembering that. And tell chairman that I will do something for you guys. For doing 3 meals in one day. You guys are the best I wish I could meet all you guys and have a beer together I know I would fit right in I have the same goofiness as the chairman. Best utube channel ever. Your friend Phil from kasson Minnesota 🎉
Hello Phil, sorry I forgot it was you that said that. I think he's on board with it. Would have been good this past trip, but it will work. Sent my email in my other reply. Thanks! Take care.
I’m thinking of accepting this challenge!!!!
Super video guys ! Awesome food whether at the cabin or dining out. The fishing scenes were epic almost like out of Steinbeck. It sure is a beautiful area. Congrats on your General for the Ham Radio. Good time for topping up mineral pit. I did mine too a few days ago back at the farm. The RITP's were in full bloom this spring trip. lol Shawn had a few teasers then went full blown at 8:55 and 57:08. The Chairman well he knows what his fan base likes and wasted no time giving them the goods. WhiteRook85 even got in on it at the end . Hope Medical man can make the next trip. Hope you all stay safe and until next time RITP's !!
Thanks Ian, great time, good food, can't ask for too much more. I thought there was some RITPs besides the Chairman giving people what they want. Those minerals will keep them around, good to freshen those sites up. Take care Ian!
RITPs!!!!
Congratulations on getting your General !
Hope to catch you on the air Really enjoy
your show. John, K8LJG
Thanks John! Take care, n3arx.
I finally got you to stop at the Wells Boro Dinner. I miss that place. It must 20 years since I last ate there.
Yes, had to do one stop at least, Mike drinking my coffee was pretty funny. Great breakfast as always, Holly the cook has been there as long as I can remember.
Catch and release! Haha 😂
I come for chairman moments, i stay for the content! Thank you for sharing as always rook
Looks like a great trip, hope all is well your end from sunny Wales, UK
Thank you very much, all good here, hope it's the same for you in Wales. Take care Mr. Freeman!
You Guys have to much fun! Lol Always eat great, but that pork chop looked like a steak. Holy Hannah!!!
Wanted to get something a little different this time around. Had some fun putting that dinner together.
@@whiterook85 it looked great! Have a great day!
Great video as always !
Thanks!
love it , great video as always, liked the extra conversation in the truck, I was a little Leary
about you moving the fire pit , but when you showed the view. that changed everything.
Now I'm all IN . lol ,,,keep up the good work !
New fire pit spot is really nice, even at night with the stars and the houses on the other hills. Should be nice if we do it right. I have a new fire pit to try out next trip up.
Nice to see you guys caught some fish. Makes the trip more enjoyable, I would think. As usual,
lots of good food and joking with the guys.
Good time, was glad to hit that trout hot spot on Saturday, had a few casts where I got one each time.
Tom, This was another great video with some beautiful Pennsylvania scenery.
Thanks Kevin, more to come. Looks like the bears are up!
Great video as always. I always look forward to watching.
Thanks John, will be back for more in a few weeks.
Thanks for another great video buddy. I appreciated it. You all sure were into the fish this trip. I sure do enjoy the cabin videos.
Thank you! Hope all is going well for the bees this Spring. Been a little cooler than past years. Will be back in a few weeks for some more fun.
Rook- great video as always. Good to see everyone is doing well and the camaraderie still thriving. Also nice to see the land bouncing back post-logging and your ideas to increase game presence.
Will look forward to your stand maintenance and getting some brush piles started. Fantastic meals as well.
Thanks Thomas, good time with the guys as always. Will see how long it takes to get some bucks on the property, but it seems like everything else likes it.
Chairman definitely has the Erie fishing style down 👌🏼
"Styling and profiling!"
Yaaaaaaasss!!!
Your videos bring back so many ch for me. That short clip on the blue route at Conshohocken especially. I grew up right near there in Bridgeport/Norristown area.
Just happen to have the camera rolling at that spot. Take care!
You Boys sure do eat good at the Cabin... Outstanding!
It's all part of it, some good food is great after a good day.
Another awesome cabin video!
Thanks, went too quick!
I love your videos. I watch them over and over. You guys are so fortunate to have a nice cabin. Close group of guys. Don’t get any better.
Thanks, had a great time, went far to quick. Seemed like we just got there, then were leaving. You know you had some fun when that happens. Take care!
Tom and all... another great video! I enjoy them all. The Spring snow/ice is called graupel (kind of a light sniw pellet), a cross between snow and sleet/hail, ha! It almost rhymes with scrapple, lol! Anyways, I got pelted with it one Spring day while fishing and had to look it up! Anyways, keep enjoying the great outdoors and posting your videos, great job! - CheERs, "Encyclopedia" Walters
P.S., tell the no show guy to get his priorities straight and start making some trips...! There's always one of those guys ha, ha... just jiving him... schedules are tough, hope he's ok!
Thanks for the info Michael "Encyclopedia" Walters! I knew someone would know what that was. Eric is good, back is healing up, he's just playing real life catch up now.
Enjoyed the video. Good friends
Thanks James, good time, good eats.
Great video Tom.. Really enjoyed it. God Bless you Sir!!
Thanks Jason, glad you enjoyed it.
Oh HELL YEAH!!! FINALLY...
Haha, we went early this year, didn't even get to mention George's birthday. Thanks Harvey!
Love the videos whiterook! As a Pennsylvania resident the topics of your videos has been my life and childhood. One thing you guys are missing out on though and it might be Pennsylvania’s greatest resource. Our Steelhead fishery in Erie. I know you guy’s are all about the cabin life which is completely understandable. You and the fellas should head to Erie and try Steelhead ally sometime though. Spring or fall. Both can be a amazing time. Not to mention a potential fish of a lifetime. You could definitely do day trips from where the Cabin is also if you wanted to. Thank You for showing off our state a little bit. Its not what it used to be but the beauty hasn’t faded one bit. Look forward to future videos!
Thanks, we may have to put that on our thing to do list. I have heard it is a great opportunity to catch some really big fish. Take care and thanks!
Been waiting for this,As always Tom another great cabin video great foods friends fishing doesn't get any better than that looking forward to the next one safe travels my friend
Thanks John, weather held out pretty good and we managed to get on some fish. Good time. Take care!
Great video Tom. I always enjoy the journey you share with us of camp life. Im looking forward to see how the food plots and logging affect the wildlife. Thanks again Tom.
Thanks Nathan, will be interesting. We got some rain up there, and the clover is doing better, will be heading back in a few weeks.
Like watching your trips to camp. Get a chicken block from Rural King or Tractor Supply. It won’t last long once deer find it
Thanks Terry will have to check that out.
Really good spring trip video!!! Nice to see you all out their fishing and enjoying nature.
Thanks Todd, we had a good time, went too quick.
Another great video! Really enjoyed the time lapse shots, especially that night shot with the stars. The Chairman had me cracking up as usual! Your property is really looking nice. I think that logging is really going to pay off the next few years. I was up at my place in Sullivan County the week before and those black flies were brutal. Thanks again for taking us along!
Thanks, good time, like adding the time lapse in to the videos, makes them flow better. Chairman turns it on when the camera is rolling as always. Tons of flies out this year, up by the cabin and down on the creek. Take care!
👍
Great video Tom! Great seeing you guys back at the cabin. Hope all is well.
Thanks Mike, more to come in a few weeks.
The time flies by fast. It seems like I just watched your fall hunting camp video and now it's spring.
Sure does, will be back for deer before you know it. Take care!
Great video as usual.
Thanks Gary!
Great job again! Can I please get your PO box? I think chairman needs a pink fishing pole to match his socks.😂😅😊
Hello Phil, send me an email to rook.lxxxv@gmail.com, will give you it there. Thanks!
Yaaaaass!!
Great video of man love the spring trip
Never really knew where you were until you showed crossing Babb Creek. Scared the daylights out of my cousins hubby a few years ago when I had him drive through the creek and he pushed water up almost over his hood. I can remember as a kid camping under the pavilion that got burned down along Stoney Fork Creek during a rain storm. Have hunted Tioga/Lycoming Counties since I was a kid. I’m gonna retire up there somewhere.
A bit of a shortcut for us, water was low, so Mike wanted to try it. I can imagine that water over the hood, that would scare me too! Take care Thomas.
Another good video, nothing like time spent at the camp. Will be anxious to see how the logging affects deer activity.
Thanks Richard, same with me on the deer and other wildlife there.
Love the videos! Congrats on the success at fishing this trip (especially Sintax77 catching his first trout on a fly rod). Nice looking trout for dinner. I have been on a number of trips to cabins, but I never ate as well as you all do! I appreciate the respect for the flag and our Veterans.
Thank you very much Ron, was a good time. Glad I was there when Shawn got the trout, was there for his first buck and turkey also years back. One reason I can do videos in the woods is what our veterans sacrificed and were able to provide for the country, freedom!
I have been waiting for this !!!! Thanks Tom
Thanks, hope you enjoyed.
Great video again Tom! Awesome to see the guys. missing Eric, hope to see him again
He will be back later in the year when he catches up with work. Thanks!
Great video guys, awesome stuff. Dutch seems like a great nickname for the cook, he looks like a Dutch. Saying howdy on a rainy day in central Michigan.
Thanks, great time with the guys. May have to keep Dutch in the rotation. Something tells me we haven't seen the last of the oven. Take care.
I just discovered your videos a couple weeks ago and can’t stop watching. As a northern PA hunter I really enjoy seeing the deer camp and camp trip videos. Thanks for sharing the adventures it brings back great deer camp memories and stories and good times with friends and family and makes me look forward to the good times ahead. Not sure if you have ever tried any Troegs beer before but it’s brewed in Hershey and if you ever find yourself in south central PA you will have to try it.
Thanks Mitch, glad you're enjoying, just trying to bring a little fun into the trips. Deer camp is a special place, lots of fun, good time, and memories made. I have had the Troegs, the Mad Elf should be hitting the shelves soon.
@@whiterook85 absolutely! Hope the North Carolina trip went well and best of luck with the upcoming seasons. Looking forward to the videos to come
Got back Sunday, good time. Video will be up soon. Thanks!
@@whiterook85 what’s your email? Camp wants to get you a bottle of something.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed.
Hi Tom good to see yous back again great video always 👍🦃🦌
Thanks Greg, good to catch a few fish again, trout and the Fallfish kept me going on Saturday morning.
I was late on watching 👀 this one but great and enjoyable as always
No problem, glad you enjoyed! Will be back soon.
Great video as always from Rook and the Boyz. Keep them coming. Stay with the flyrod Sintax. I've fished many PA streams during a hatch when the trout were climbing over nightcrawlers to eat bugs.
Was great to see him get one, he's learning. Takes time. Thanks again.
@@whiterook85 fallfish is a creek chub that was originally a small minnow years ago when someone released it. Invasive. Throw them up on the bank unless the water has pike or musky to keep them in check.
Saw that when I was looking it up after I got back. No pike or musky in that water. They did seem to be more aggressive than the trout.
Another awesome camp video !!!
Great video! Been following you for over 10yrs, I think. I'm from Coal Township, PA. Got a family camp in Centre county. Go Phillies!
Thanks Chris, glad you enjoyed! Loved going to Centre County (Black Mo) with Sr. way back in the day. Take care!
Awesome video Tom and u guys have a great group and that awesome to see all the memories u all make and shared with us. Thank you
Thanks Gianni, we have a great time. A lot of jokes and fun while we are there. Will be back soon.
Definitely enjoy watching your trips upstate
Thanks, we have some clean up work to do there now that the logging is finish. Will see what happens with our new fire pit area.
Idea for the next winter trip. CHILI COOKOFF. I realize it could get dangerous, I'll let yall figure out a safe way to handle it.
Great idea, only problem, Cook AKA Dutch doesn't like chili (only person I ever met). It could happen.
Tom, a great way to drastically increase a turkey population is to remove predators from the equation. Nest robbers are the easiest to trap, It takes a couple of years to see results, but well worth it. Hello from Mississippi.
Know what you mean, some foxes and raccoons up there will raid a nest anytime they find one.
😅😅
Nice video, thanks for sharing. Can’t wait for the next one. 👍🇺🇸
Thanks Chad, will be a solo trip I think.
Just started watching, I love these videos
So excited to see your new video!!!! Thanks Tom!!!
Thanks Jeff!
Always enjoy your cabin videos. Happy to see you guys enjoying life. Looking foward for the next one
Thanks Josh, good times with the guys, weather held up pretty good this trip.
Really enjoy your videos. Love the area...been going there since I was a kid and now get to enjoy it with my own. We have a camp just outside of Morris...the Lost Dutchman Camp. Heading up tomorrow for a few days of turkey hunting and fishing. I've been through the Babb at that spot hundreds of times. It's a great shortcut when the water is low....I've pushed my luck in high water a time or too also when I was younger (dumber). Don't think it'll be crossable this week after the rain. Until the next video, take care.
Good luck with the turkeys and trout. First time through the creek shortcut. Normally the water is a little higher, didn't really think we would get into trouble during our trip up. Take care!
I'm so pumped to see this. Paused... I'm going to make a 3 olive and red bull. Shoot I might even eat wings. Like what I'm seeing so far. Rainy day here. 😴 napped. Birds eating well. Worms
thats great about the Radio thing you should get pursue it sounds cool
Great video Tom. Always enjoy them. Must have felt great to be there thanks for taking us along
Thanks, it goes quick, that is for sure, seems like we just got there, then where packing up to head home.
Hey Tom, Thanks for the great video of the Spring Trip! It’s always good to see your group having fun at the camp. The logging looks like it will really pay off improving the habitat for the wildlife. Also, just like you, I have tremendous gratitude & respect for all who serve & have served….I know you will continue the tributes. Look forward to your summer trips to work on your stand and relaxing in God’s Country. Take care & stay safe!
Thank you very much Steve. I hope the logging did something good. Will take a bit to see the improvement, but I know it's coming. Those that serve and served, gave, and give us everything we have. Can't thank them enough.
Tom, really enjoyed seeing this pop up. Actually watched it this morning with coffee instead of the end of day. All around a great trip! Enjoyed every aspect of this one…the dining, the fishing, camp cooking, hearing what the plans are going forward. Thank you once again for bringing us along. Wondering how you made out with the spring gobbler season! Let me know!
Glad you enjoyed it over your morning cup. Had a lot of fun and some laughs. Only went out for turkey the first day. Was a little busy before we headed up for the trip. Thanks Tim!
Great video as always Tom !! Looked like some great fishing , food , and fun !!! Glad to see the stand is still up and looking good , one of ours blew over in one of the wind storms we had . We are heading to camp this weekend for some fishing and Turkey hunting !! Take care , tell all the guys hello , and I'm sending them some more moonshine for hunting season .
Thanks Pete, the stand is in very good shape. Deer all over it. Good luck with fishing and hope you get on a bird or two. Sorry to hear about the stand, hopefully you just had to set it back in place. Will let the guys know, they loved last years shine!
Good to see you guys again, heading up to my place tomorrow, for some Turkey Hunting and Trout fishing, Thanks Guys.
Good luck on your endeavors, enjoy the time at camp. It goes all to quick. Take care John.
Great seeing you guys at the camp again. You always bring back so many memories of the camp i sharred in PA with my two brothers and many friends through the years.
Being a brother of two Marines who each served two tours in Vietnam , I want to thank you for your thoughts of those that served.
Thanks again Tom

Glad it could bring back some great memories for you. Sounds like you had a nice camp there. Just have to get that flag out and remember those that did so much for us. Take care Robert.
Love to see you on a new trip, your show is my favorite !!!
Thank you very much Joe, hope you enjoyed.
That was in my opinion your best video yet. I loved the fishing scenes. I got into trout fishing later in life and now it's one of my passions. Fish mostly in my home state of NJ but have also fished the nearby water of our own hunting camp in NY. Good job always look forward to your stuff. BTW I went through fire fighting school twice in the navy and navy reserves back in the 90s, also went to a damage control class at the Philadelphia navy yard.
Thank you very much Matthew, had to try to the underwater shots with the gopro. Got back into it after that long layoff when Sr. passed. Was glad to see Shawn get his first fish on the fly rod. Thank you for your service, when I saw the FDC coffee I though I had to give it a try.
I look forward to all your cabin videos! Not surprised to see deer, grouse, and turkeys, after your logging operation. My logger told me wildlife would come back, and seek out our property after my logging operation. He was so right! I expect so much more success for your lodge in the future!
Pro fishing tip...don't fish downstream from Camp Cook! He catches everything!
Thanks! The wildlife should come back, deer have been there (does), and should pull in a few bucks in the fall. Glad to see the grouse back, hopefully will see a few more, more like jump when I almost step on one and it takes off right in front of you. Campcook, he did ok this trip.
Wwayyyyooooo RITPS!

Just what we needed for miserable rainy day! I’m five minutes from that Dicks shop that Mike was at.
Thanks, hope you enjoyed it, got a lot of rain here in DE also.
The video was very good the intro music a tad dramatic😂
Dramatic for us, that is for sure.
Wonderful to see yourself and all the guys doing well. Thank you for bringing us along for your spring trip to camp and fish. The shenanigans and memories made are fun to watch. Everything at camp appears to be doing well, hopefully some rain that is in the near forecast should help with the clover. It always makes my day when I see whiterook posted a new video. Best wishes and good health. Until next time, thanks Tom!
Thanks for the kind words Justin. The area needs a bit of a clean up after the logging, but we knew it wouldn't be perfect when they were done. We can take care of part of it, nature will do the rest. Take care!

Yep, Pine Creek, been hitting it for a long time.
Was a good surprise to see a new video uploaded. Good seeing you guys.

That overview of the property was unbelievable. Totally changed the landscape. It will be a Turkey hunting hot spot in the future.
Think you are right Reed, should help all the wildlife up there. Bears are out, maybe they will come in for a visit next trip up. Take care!
You guys need a signature pizza at Tony’s. The GTC.
Think you are right, Friday night, Tony was a little busy to talk to him about it. Really enjoyed the cheese steak Stromboli.
Just got back from Turkey camp and this popped in! Looked fun and lots of good food and fellowship!
Hope you had a great time at camp and were able to get on some birds. Lot of fun there. Will back back soon.
I highly recommend black ops white out sweet and salty mineral attractant it lasts a good time and I have had deer bear and turkey on camera also it is a veteran owned company
Trust me, I wanted it to work, may try the sweet and salty again in a different spot.
Spring video is always second best of the year next to the Deer Camp annual video. Lets hope for a cast and blast for turkey next year.
Yep, hard to beat when everyone gets together. Have 3 jakes on the camera, but a big coyote also.
Thx Tom. It helps me
New one on Wednesday at 6pm.
Watch you dont drink to much of that you will get the Schlitz!!!
Know what you mean, haha. Seems like I'm a lightweight now, never go too far.
I've been watching your channel for years and I enjoy every video so I say this with the upmost respect to you guys, but I have never seen a group of grown men wash their car to go INTO the woods lol wtf
Haha, that was me, the jeep is too new to ride up there like that. Washed it when I got back also.
He also stopped for a 12 pack of Bud Lite!!!!
Re watching videos ! Anyone get doe tags this year, cant wait for deer season !
Not sure if Eric did, Mike and Steve are still looking for a buck instead.
Those were brook trout camp cook!
Yeah. My bad!

It just may have been, had to pop off a couple while we were there.
