  • Invertigo is an inverted boomerang at Kings Island. This ride originally opened in 1999 as Face/Off before getting its current name. Vekoma only made four of their Invertigo model, and this is the last one remaining in the United States. But how much longer will it last?

Huh. I forgot that Vekoma made other inverted Boomerangs besides the giant ones with the vertical spikes. I'm planning to visit Ohio next summer for the first time so hopefully this will be open.
Also props for the Face/Off recommendation hahaha. It's a classic campy action film.

I rode Two Face: The Flip Side in 1999. I think I only rode it once since I was more interested in getting more rides on Wild One and Roar. For me, the killer feature of this ride is the opportunity to watch the facial expressions of the people sitting across from you. I knew it was from Vekoma, the creators of the Boomerangs and the hang 'n' bangs, so I didn't expect it to be smooth.

I like the intensity of Invertigo, and it's nice to have the unique take on a Boomerang. I just wish it didn't have the bulky restraints. The restraints on the sit-downs are easier for me to manage. Fortunately, those pads on Invertigo are soft enough, so any headbanging doesn't hurt. It's only annoying. I was able to look passed the annoyance on my last couple visits, and I now see Invertigo as an equal to the sit-down Boomerangs. I've only bothered riding it when it's at most a 1-train wait. I haven't seen it broke down, but I'm not usually bothering with it.

I loved this coaster too! Then again: I've the only old Vekoma coasters I've ridden are two bad SLCs and one bad regular Boomerang as well as the defunct corkscrew that used to be in Vancouver. This was MUCH better, but I wouldn't recommend riding it more than 4 times in a row: Once in the front car facing front; once in the front car facing back , once in the back car facing front and once in the back car facing back. That's enough riding Invertigo for at least one day. Thanks for posting!

I think it’s fine, but it kinda feels like a regular boomerang too me. Not very rough, the exception being the cobra roll going backwards feels a little more jarring than going forwards, and that loop going backwards honestly competes with the intensity of Schwarzkopf loops.
Something I noticed about this is that though the restraints look the same as on an SLC, I kinda feel like they are softer, kinda like pillows next to your head. While an SLC like Thunderhawk (just an example) the restraints feel more firm on that. Maybe it’s just me though.
