I have a quarter section of land in Alberta. Back in the mid 90's I had about 5 dams on my land, now I have over 15. So far the beavers have not affected my fields so no problem. I figure they have just as much rights to the land, plus they help the other wild life by making water holes. I am in contact with a couple of groups that work with farmer to help make this relationship work. I hope we can continue to live in harmony. Glad others are helping the species. Enjoyed your video. 🇨🇦
They probably help your fields, too, so long as they don't flood them, by ensuring there's water during dry spells. I think the main reason they're considered nuisances is because of flooded fields and reduced water flow down stream of their dams. You seem to have found a way to work around that, which is *awesome.*
So glad you are giving them a chance. They have a function in nature. They aren’t a nuisance in nature, they’re a nuisance to us because we encroach on their territory.
I'm sure this point has been made already, beaver dams are very successful in mitigating drought. Thank you Holley. Keep up the good work that you do for all of us.
I've had the privilege of observing beavers in the wild on several occasions. They are absolutely amazing creatures. I know they are considered a nuisance, by some, but humanity needs to rewire their thinking. We all need to coexist! Thank you so much for your kind, and hard, work. ❤
meh. In my country we don't have 'em. No biggy. You just don't get a lake, but you keep a river. For some fish, humans, bears, etc. beavers can mean the end. They are very much like us, they destroy habitat of others and create their own - without a care in the world. No wonder our relation with beavers is fickle.
We had terrible drought last year in my region, and the only places I found lush green forest was around beaver habitat. The lakes with beavers, were all at normal water levels, which was nothing short of miraculous. I feel that in order to save our forests and rivers, etc in the PNW, we need these guys to do their beaver thing everywhere. Thankfully we have a very dense beaver population where I live. They had to relocate a young one out of the city centre last year, as it was trying to dam up the storm water system in a local marsh.
Bless you for saving, raising, and loving these precious animals! Rehabbers like you deserve support & respect and please know your work makes such a beautiful impact in our world!!! Thanks for all you do! 🥰💗🙏🦫
Where I live we have a lot of beavers. There are those that complain about them but for the most part there are ways to work around their dams and lodges without destroying them .
Wanna hear something sweet? My 9 y/o autistic granddaughter came into my room while I was watching beaver vids. She gave me like a 5 minute explanation of her knowledge of beavers and it was amazing. She knew all about the fur trade in history, how they mold habitats so other species can thrive, and so much more. I honestly believe that kids like her have super-powers and are key to our future.
Beavers are the most amazing animals. There's a beaver dam beside the dirt road leading to my cottage along a river, and some beavers built the most gorgeous dam ever in the swampy bog that floods nearly to the road. It looks like a hobbit hole or something out of Narnia! It's a round stick mound which has become covered in grasses and orange flowers, and the water and forest around it looks green and tranquil and there are clumps of reeds and cattails in the fairly shallow water. Then one year somebody knocked it down because it was blocking water flow and flooding the road or something. The beavers rebuilt it, but they knocked it down again. Now it's a lump covered with grass and flowers that is not quite recognizable as a beaver dam, so I think the beavers have left it. So sad! There must have been a way to let the beavers keep their gorgeous house.
Thank you for this important message about our responsibility to ensure healthy habitat is available for beavers to live safely in the wild. The more we learn about them, the more we realize how essential they are to a healthy ecosystem. And thank you for your dedication to these young ones. There's nothing more heartbreaking & satisfying than releasing a healthy wild foster back to its home in the wild.💖💖💖
I remember a while back a story of a rancher who had a valley he grazed with his cattle and kept knocking down the beaver dams because it was flooding the area. I forget what caused the change but he left the beavers to it to build as they liked. Yes this caused flooding at first but also opened up old waterways and caused new grazing land to be available because of the beavers. These little engineers know what they are doing!
I remember seeing the 'resident' beaver at the high desert museum in Bend, Oregon. He kept trying to climb up his caregiver's leg! Now I understand the nature of the bond. Thank you so much.
Such a sweet little guy!💗 Bless everyone who looks after our wild creatures! Beavers are not pests! They have an important role in the ecosystems they live in. They can transform areas, save water and create habitats for other creatures!
I’ve always loved beavers-but I’ve earned sooooo much from your videos. I think beavers are amazing and I am so thankful for your grace and care. Blessings
AW look at their lil faces, my heart is melting. These animals are so misunderstood which makes these videos so important for people to see! These beavers deserve the best and I hope they have a beautiful life.
They help recharge our aquifers, reduce impacts from climate-change driven droughts, and they improve water quality. Thank you to the beavers and to your team for the rehab work!
God bless you for rescuing these amazing and difficult to care for animals! It’s funny how the animals that other people think are “pests” or “nuscents” are the animals i try to find/ would pay money for /want to take care of and love /are the most important to me. Guess I’m just a different kind of person..
God they are so cute, but industrious. Busy as a beaver really is a compliment to their work ethic. And they are social creatures. Man. I love these little fellows.
I know next to nothing about beavers apart from them making the dams but they are so dam(n) cute! I am saddened to hear they are going through such a plight, I had no idea. I hope more people get enlightened and understand how vital all species are for the ecosystem and how their presence can help everything around us. I am rooting for you beaver guys and thank you rescuers for taking so much time, effort and resources to ensure the beavers have a chance!
Great care & work! Thank You!! Let’s spread the word, initiate the subject: Scientists are advocating beaver protection & placement to prevent Fires & Drought! Perhaps someone can link stories here from PBS, CBS & others
I live in Northern Germany, we are lucky ( after years! ) to have a pair of beavers at our protected space. Only in the 90s people started recognizing we cannot live without intact nature.
I love all animals, basically---but what a treat to find your channel! Beavers strike me as incredibly gentle. I live in an area of Ohio where beavers try their best to survive. Just a couple of weeks ago I came across multiple beaver chews along the Little Miami River at John Bryan State Park.
Videos like these are so important. People just need to watch them. I am pretty much a pescatarian, but videos similar to these have made me forswear octopus and lobster (not that ate much of them anyhow.) These creatures are not just cute, but intelligent and an essential part of the ecosystem.
I believe in what you are doing. I commend you for your love and compassion. I wish I could rehab beavers in my backyard, but I don't think my wife would approve. Beavers are very important for the ecosystem. They create eco systems and attract hundreds of different species into that ecosystem. Southern hillbilly culture hates the beaver for what it does. But that's predictable. Beavers are equipped with many evolutionary characteristics that have been evolved to do their very important job in the forest. I LOVE BEAVERS.
What a wonderful presentation. The silence is so powerful. It's a joy to encounter an animal welfare video without distracting chatter and annoying muzak. Well done.
Can you add a wish list to your description box. Would like to help. I love you and your family! Very much! I truly believe Heaven will help find their home.
I Love All Animals and These Beavers Are So Special ❤❤❤ I Thank You For Saving Them and Caring For Them , They Are Something ! Wildlife Have It So Bad Today , Makes Me Very Upset . Many People Today Are Really Selfish and Don't Care About Wildlife ? Anyways , Thanks Again For What You Do , You Guys Are a Blessing 🙏😇🙏 Bye
They are the cutest sweetest little angels 😇 ❤ the picture of the beaver and purple flower makes my heart smile! Oh so very precious ! Thank you for loving the beavers 🦫 ❤️ 😇
Well, I have sure fallen in love with these adorable babies. I live on a tight fixed income from disability or I would gladly support your cause. I'm sending big love and hugs to you for all the work you do caring for and rehabbing these precious creatures 💗 💖 💕
Thanks for rescuing these beavers. Beavers are very beneficial to the environment. People also shouldn't approach them in the wild unless they've been trained, they can be very territorial and can attack when provoked. And have killed in rare occasions.
Amazing little animals and, as stated, a challenge to provide care and to raise them to a point where they can be safely placed in the wild. They remind me very much of our (Australia's) platypus (singular....platypii or platypusses for more than one!), which are unique and faced with possible extinction, although they are protected by legislation. The environment is changing and they are walking a very thin line. All credit to you for what you are doing; you are to be admired.
Hello, love your videos of Beavers, they are one of my favourite animals, they are so good for the ecology. I live in the South west of England and Beavers are being reintroduced back into a lot of areas which is really great to see and long may it continue.
In the U.K., beavers have rehabilitated some environments to everyone's benefit ... In the U.S., Americans are generally too short-sighted and greedy to give them a chance. In general, Humans tend to destroy anything that is even slightly inconvenient for them. ... P.S., there is continued fascination with relatively useless but peaceful Capybaras. Beavers are continuously useful and hard working, for example, building dams inside your house ! ...
Workaholic environment stabilizing engineers. We can learn so much from them. I frankly have more respect for them than most members of our confused amnesiac hypochondriac species. There are a couple of dams close to where I live, and they're in for the duration. Oh and the algorithm appears to be in this channel's favor which is very cool.
In the past weeks I saw 1 beaver, then another, killed by the highway. Then I happened on your vids and wonder if there are youngsters out there. They are such magnificent animals. Truly a work of God!
There is conservation land behind my grandmother's old house that had beavers when I was growing up. So cool to see them growing up. My parents have conservation land behind their house with no beavers but plenty of ponds and streams, so if you are looking for safe release places those might work. Check out Southboro MA and Medfield MA.

A caring, considerate Canadian….it’s textbook stuff! 👍🏻
You're a rad human!
These beaver videos are good for my mental health. Yes I'm totally serious!
I love how they always look like they’re about to say something really profound. And their hands are amazing and they are super cute..
Totally agree!! ❤️❤️
I'm sure this point has been made already, beaver dams are very successful in mitigating drought. Thank you Holley. Keep up the good work that you do for all of us.
I didn't realize this... thank you!
Just now learning about them and falling in love. :-)

@@corbeau-_- They don't destroy any other animal's habitat, that's just your vile side showing.

I hadn't realized before how unique beavers are -- not to mention adorable. Thank you for saving them and bringing them to our attention.

Looks like that one beaver near the end was looking around at the human house and thinking, "Whoa, nice construction design!!!"
beavers are wonderful to have around. little angels with such personality.
Yup I've totally fallen in love 😍 Beavers are apart of our ecosystems we do need them!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge about Beavers

They're like: Yee haw! We have a pond, now! Not deep enough, but, hopefully the sky faucet ☔ keeps filling it 😂
So adorable
They're so cute and you're doing fantastic work helping them survive!
Beautiful. People need to stop hurting/killing our animals of this world. We kill nothing! Not even a mouse/spider....
