Today we're making Chicken Caesar Salad for Mother's Day. This is our favorite full meal type of salad. It has seared chicken breast, with the best classic Caesar dressing, and garlicky croutons on top of crisp romaine. I hope you enjoy it!

I added a new song haha. Finding music that works (ie: doesn't annoy too many) isn't the easiest task. Let me know what you think. The written recipe is always linked in the description (it's the little "arrow" on mobile and a "show more" on desktop). In the description, you will also find my shop and other links with cookware/ingredients and all the other things you guys frequently ask about. Thanks for watching and liking my videos!

I love how you respond to people telling you that you're doing something wrong like using olive oil. I saw an article on Buzzfeed about a Reddit post of cooking tips that are wrong and the top one was you can't use olive oil to cook with because it always burns and smokes. Of course they're wrong and just using it incorrectly. If you're burning olive oil it's you, not the oil.

To everyone who is shy about this recipe because of the anchovies in the dressing: PLEASE give it a shot at least once, you won't regret it! The fish is THE "Caesar" flavor and you'll notice it when a Caesar dressing doesn't have real fish in it. It's DELICIOUS, be brave and try it!!

I subbed to your channel about a week ago…👍👌. Thank you for all the little nuances tips!
As a strongly Italian American brought up in a “Son’s of Italy” little ethnic town in upstate NY. My Gramma made sure that “traditions Italia” were savored every single day, but especially on Sunday after church with family and friends! Yes, her/our dining room table seated at minimum 14 people. As a toddler and going forward into pre-teen hood, and before deathly changes reared their devastating ugly heads, I remember playing underneath this fortress like dining table, white table cloth seemingly enshrouding it all the way around, which also served as fertile imaginative ground for my sister and brother as we played. Later, when our deeply loved Grandfather fell terminally ill and the hospital was sending him home to die, (pre-hospice anything), my Grandmother never hesitated to sell that entire EXQUISITE dining room set in order to afford the hospital bed and everything else she would need to physically take care of him. He was home 2 days when he died. Sorry, I didn’t mean to go into this kind of detail, I am going to say that the power of smells, tastes evoke or trigger strong memories and that’s what happened for me now.
On the best note, the flavors your recipes bring out resonate deeply with me and I love them! Not only did I buy the oregano for myself but also for my Sissy who still lives in upstate NY while I live in SoCal. After getting this really beautiful oregano, I made my Gramma’s recipe for meatballs and the best hot Italian sausage I have available. I sent a plate over to my neighbor who, 10 minutes later, appeared at my door, saying this is THE BEST Italian food I have ever eaten and HOW did you make it!!!!! Well that made me super happy and I proceeded to show her everything…but that Oregano….was ABSOLUTELY a game changer!
Thank you so much for your dedication to detail.

This salad is delicious and easy. People, don’t be afraid of the raw eggs. The eggs get “cooked” “tempered” by the lemon juice acid. This is why cervche (a Hispanic raw fish appetizer) is served raw. Buy fresh eggs, add that fresh lemon and you’ll be absolutely fine. Thanks to the chef. His food always is a crowd pleaser for my family.

That is a really tasty looking Caesar Salad. The attention to detail is critical and you ace that. Plus, you are not afraid to really make the tastes robust and that makes all the difference between a superb Caesar Salad and a wishy-washy one.

I just want to say THANK YOU for showing how to properly pan sear a chicken breast. I am an older, retired guy who had about 20 years in all aspects of restaurant experience when I was much younger. Yet, I have been unable to make a pan cooked chicken breast that wasn't white and pasty looking. Tonight I followed your directions (I used a cast iron pan) and turned out a beautifully cooked chicken breast. I wasn't pre-heating the pan sufficiently it seems. Thanks to you, I will no longer have this problem! I guess this shows, you're never too old to learn new skills. THANK YOU!!!

Excellent point on the stainless steel pan, it really makes all the difference to help out that lean cut of chicken. I usually dry brine the whole pieces in the fridge, but I think your method of butterflying them would help make sure the salt and pepper penetrates through without that extra step. Also, sparing your lovely wife the usual superimposed rating heads is a thoughtful Mother's Day gift! 😂

Smartly put together - by a person who clearly loves cooking and eating, and has really deep knowledge. But not dogmatic or overly clever - and most importantly there is genuine joy and generosity in everything you do. Tip for getting more dressing on your salad when tossing, season the bowl with the dressing too :)

Whew the wife gives it a 9.5!
It is funny when you make something from scratch that isn't hard, it tastes a 1000 times better.
And yes this is a perfectly acceptable meal on it's own. 😎😎

I make Chicken Caesar Salad much the same way, but have always used a mayo based dressing...I’ve always wanted to try an authentic Caesar dressing like you’ve prepared, excited to finally try this the right way, lol. Really good video, nice to meet your wife, she’s delightful. Cheers 🇨🇦

Another excellent episode! You make your recipes so accessible for someone to cook at home. I am definitely making this as this salad is one of my daughter's favorites. Going to try my hand at your pizza dough as well and do a grandma pie. Also going to try that dough for a Detroit style pizza. Looking forward to the next recipe!

Thanks very much! The dough works well imo for almost any type of pizza. Hope you enjoy it.

I love your channel! I'm on a marathon watching your videos! This dressing looks amazing and I am looking forward to making it. I love how you mention the use of the olive oil in the pan, I do the same thing, and the measuring cup device you used for the olive oil works perfectly fine when cooking :)
You cook family style and keep it real and simple and I love it. It's what makes you stand out among the rest. Delicious, healthy, and healthy food and your own unique style. Your wife is lovely and I so funny how she noticed the bread crumbs...I didn't even catch that. I'm spreading the word on your fantastic channel and love seeing your subscriber numbers grow. Well deserved!
