I agree, Prince was an extremely creative and talented artist. He also was renowned for his work ethics; I believe that to produce great music there’s no replacement to good old hard work.
It's exhilarating to party with a guitar like that and make everyone dance. What a simple yet intricate language and what an effect when it all stacks. So much pocket and groove you got there. Fabulous.
One of the best channels here for new and growing players. I’ve been playing for years without classical training, and I feel like you guys have really helped to fill in the gaps for me.
Is there anything outside of Ayla's musical abilities? Great technique and feel in her playing. Amazing singing voice. Command of music theory and a really good teacher. I love Ayla's "funk face" while she's playing.
Omg....I can't believe this Prince tutorial. Prince is the reason for my interest in learning how to play!! I ent to 21 concerts and was trying to go to 100. Thank you for thus and I hope you can go over Purple Rain, Contraversy, Let's Go Crazy, Raspberry Beret and more!! Thank you!!👊🏾😘💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Hi Ayla, thank you very much for this video! I am a big fan of your video lessons and a huge fan of Prince. This is one the best Prince tutorials out there. For me, one of the funkiest Prince songs is a little known gem called Blanche. It's got some amazing guitar parts happening.
Prince also was a genius when it came to finding the beauty in simplicity. Just a couple of notes but would make the absolute most of em and the air in between. Perfect example in the live version of "the question of you" live in tokyo 91 I think ? Either way you can find it on YT
Well done Fantastic I watch you all the time and now you doing Prince! Great to see he still influences young kids! Real Music for Real Musicians! Keep up the great videos Ayla!!
Please note this is a great example of how you feel about it. Talented players have the ability to transcend. I could be in for the long haul love with you.
Love it! Whole time I just envision Prince emerging from side of the frame and begin to lay down his impeccable vocal arrangement. That KISS was succinct and spot on! You did all that?🎶🌊🏄🏾♂️
Hey this is really good. Absolutely loved I wanna be your lover.. old prince hits in the feels. Such an iconic opening ! I really like musicology. I have to say though, that some of the live performances are amazingly funky. There is a more recent one in a jazz festival in monteraux 2013, very funky.. absolutely out of this world. Prince rocks
Ayla, fantastic breakdown! His funkiest songs? So so many. Would love to see you analyze Erotic City. So many subtle funk riffs throughout the song. Sexy M.F. and Gett Off are two other funk favorites. When Doves Cry has a funk beat but his guitar screams delightfully, especially the intro. Please do more Prince!
Excellent breakdown of some incredible songs. I'm actually a keyboard player but I grew up listening to Prince in the 80s and saw him live 4 times. Your band is amazing.
Thank U, with U Prince's guitare riffs become easier. I suscribe right now. I confirm : in his two first albums Prince used a lot phaser (I'm a big fan of this effect and, of course, of Prince !)
Another Gr8 lesson .. easy when yah know how .. & practice for hours & hours .. Nice to see yo jamming with the brothers again .. I am still trying to master the little loop thing you did on a recent lesson .. Tricksy lol But you make it look so easy .. Stay safe .. this nasty Covid thing is not gone yet & I am so Proud of you .. ( unreasonably I mean what did I do nothing right ? well yes But like following the progress of a favourite Team .. you feel pleased when they are doing well .. & even if you don't always feel it .. you Look Cool ) Peace & love to all . Bye
You and YOUR BAND ARE AWESOME!!!! Just a suggestion, but can your bass player show the basslines and techniques also? I am more of a bass player than guitar and would be interested in his approach to a song as well. Keep up the excellent job
Great work, but if you listen closely to Prince’s funk guitar work, aside from the tone, the use of wah, the grace notes, all of which you nail, the magic ingredient is the swing/shuffle, even in the faster stuff. Your version is a little straighter in terms of feel. Prince knew how to make it sound relaxed and tight at the same time, which is why almost nobody can reproduce his riffs exactly. A very enjoyable vid though, thank you.
Anybody else ever get an expensive guitar book because the cover promised to teach The Music of Such-&-Such Artist, but instead of familiar licks and songs, it turned out to contain mostly just brief "example licks" composed by the book's unknown author "inspired by the style of Such-&-Such Artist"? Dang, that sucks.
DE FRANCE : Hello and thank you very much for all your musical sharing. I like what you do but for those who really want to understand and advance it is sometimes very complicated. Either by inappropriate framing which removes information from us. or the speed of execution without explanation. yes, the sound, the energy and the teaching are there, but very little would be missing for it to be perfect. Thank you for reading me
The funkiest tunes of Prince ... hard question .. they are so many ! Besides the three U played in this video, I'd say : "Head", "Let's work", "DMSR", "Erotic city", "We can funk", "Sexy MF", " Love to the 9's", "Pop life", "Electric chair", "Strange relationship", "If I was Ur girlfriend", "Sexy dancer", "Alphabet street", "Rockhard on a funky place" (in the iconic Black album), "Controversy", "Pretty man", "Musicology", "Jam of the year" & "Come"
Love the new Blonde hair & the hat. Love women in hats ! This look suits your look & playing. Love that Fender with the Block fretboard markers ! Is that a Mustang ?

One of the best channels here for new and growing players. I’ve been playing for years without classical training, and I feel like you guys have really helped to fill in the gaps for me.
Honestly wasn’t expecting this from you. I’ve watched you teach chords and some tricks but you are very talented. So we’ll done.
Is there anything outside of Ayla's musical abilities? Great technique and feel in her playing. Amazing singing voice. Command of music theory and a really good teacher.
I love Ayla's "funk face" while she's playing.
She's pretty and she's FUNKY 👍👍👍
Good job Ayla!!
Thank you so much, Tomo!!!
@@MusoraOfficial You're welcome! I gave Ayla a few Skype lessons and she learned everything so fast!
So hard to say, first one that pops into my head is "I Wanna Be Your Lover" but now I'm thinking "Housequake". There are so many!!
I’m a simple kid, I see Ayla I click. I hear ludic is in this? I watch 100 times 🏃♀️
Hi Ayla, thank you very much for this video! I am a big fan of your video lessons and a huge fan of Prince. This is one the best Prince tutorials out there.

Great to see young people getting into the apologetics of Prince’s musicianship. She actually has great tone in her hands.
I love hearing all that noise in your setup, no joke. Makes me feel better about all my noise coming from... Wherever it's coming from
Wow! Great job! Love Prince's guitar work. Very under appreciated.
Prince also was a genius when it came to finding the beauty in simplicity. Just a couple of notes but would make the absolute most of em and the air in between. Perfect example in the live version of "the question of you" live in tokyo 91 I think ? Either way you can find it on YT
Your playing is incredible! So tight, clean and confident with attack and bite. Thanks for the excellent lesson
Well done Fantastic I watch you all the time and now you doing Prince! Great to see he still influences young kids! Real Music for Real Musicians! Keep up the great videos Ayla!!
I had to pause this for about a minute and come back...cuz U 2 Funky!!😍
So tight!!! When I think Prince's funkiest is when the staccato strum is extra aggressive with moving bassline and octaves...and that is DMSR!
You did all that?🎶🌊🏄🏾♂️
Nice playing, I was interested in the Prince part of this video but then I gravitated to the Meteroa!
Get Down at 1:10 Right On! I luv it

Brilliant! Got some funky chops!
Excellent breakdown of some incredible songs. I'm actually a keyboard player but I grew up listening to Prince in the 80s and saw him live 4 times. Your band is amazing.
true. Prince was the greatest guitar player of his generation.
hands down…
You have a 1st gen Meteroa with the block markers! Nice!
Thank U, with U Prince's guitare riffs become easier. I suscribe right now. I confirm : in his two first albums Prince used a lot phaser (I'm a big fan of this effect and, of course, of Prince !)
Love ❤️ ya teaching style AYLA🎸
Thank you for this! Great video...fun and informative! A tribute to a musical genius, the Purple One!
Prince was the funk master 😊 Mike in Denver

You and YOUR BAND ARE AWESOME!!!!
Just a suggestion, but can your bass player show the basslines and techniques also?
I am more of a bass player than guitar and would be interested in his approach to a song as well. Keep up the excellent job
You definitely have the gear for that sound & the feel.

It's a Fender but I too would like to know the model.
