This is so helpful! I'm a winter. I love bright, bold color combinations, but I don't always know how to pair them. Red and turquoise are one of my all time favorites!
Red is my favourite colour. I often wear it with navy and white, or white and grey. I have worn it with mushroom and rose brown. I have also worn it with cornflower blue or cyclamen pink or powder blue or primrose (and a neutral). I am summer and loving trying lots of different combinations.
Though red is not my favorite color to wear close to my face (unless it’s a little soft), I love the color on color combos of blue and pink (tops for me) with red.
I agree with you Sarah, red and purple is a fabulous, vibrant combination and probably my fave! I’m also going to try turquoise with red…that I haven’t done before but it’s a good suggestion , I’ve also seen you do purple and yellow but I don’t think I’m brave enough for that one
I am autumn and like red but at the same time, i feel like it emphasizes my acne/rosacea so i avoid it 😞 i always pair reds with something a bit cool to balance it out. Im a softer autumn so there are some cools that look good on me.
I love pairing my red jacket with an ornate dark teal and gold shawl. The colors compliment t each other so well! I think that having a metallic in the mix really unites the color combination.
Thank you Sarah - that was enjoyable and interesting. I love the different tones of red you could wear in one outfit. Not so keen on red and green (as you say). How about red and camel?
I think if the winter red is fairly deep, bright, and obviously cool,it looks very regal with royal blue. I can picture it with silver - draped over the snow. Too warm, and I think it would look costumey (is Snow White's red warm or cool?). I wouldn't mind head to toe cool red,it would make me feel like a dignified rose. For me,most things are more subtle, and comfortable than head to toe black.
Ah this comment and answer helped me so much, thank you! I have dressed up as Snow White for Halloween and kids birthday parties and always get compliments on the colors looking so nice on me. It’s really confirmed to me that I do lean cool. It isn’t obvious because I have hazel eyes but warm colors just make me look more red. I only seem to have cool colors in my wardrobe so my intuition must be right haha but I really appreciate this comment and answer!!
Awww, you really responded to my request and made a new video about how to combine red. Thank you so much Sarah, that's wonderful! 🙏 I've really learnt a lot about combinations that I hadn't thought of before. 👍
I remember snow white with these primary colors. 😅 Of all the princesses' dresses, I don't like her dress, it's so forward kinda into your face Bec the colors are strong
Brillant informative video thank you!❤ Now I'll be a bit more confident and inspired when wearing red. Absolitely love this color combo serie and any other color video Im up for it 😉 x
Georgian /PEI red dirt cliff with forest green, would be a very doable, not too Christmas, themed warm pairing. Honestly,I like the purple and red pairing in the autumn category best. The winter version looks like it's begging for a Prussian or regal blue to make a "Russian" theme.
Hi Sarah! Thank you sooo much for your videos :) I have a question about red, I've hear House of Colour consultants say that primary red is actually neutral and can work in any of the four seasons. But you said in the previous masterclass that it's naturally warm. I don't know what to think hahaha... What's the theory behind it?
Red and navy, black, or gray are always good for me. I'd say red and beige/tan, but I spent my college years working at a store where the employee uniform was red shirt & khaki pants/skirt, so whenever I see someone wearing that combo, I always think of that store. 😄
What about 'Nautical ' themed blue, red , yellow? (Like Nova Scotia coast themed). How can I make that work in one season? I see the grey blue as cool summer, or cool winter ; the yellow as canary; and the red could be a subtle spring, although,I like winter red. If it were lemon yellow it might all be a winter season, but I don't know if it would give coastal. I had a tiny bit of a winter red turtleneck peeking out of a grey blue sweatshirt. I felt like everyone was staring at the combo even though the blue was dominant. Meanwhile,I was loving the combination. I wondered what they were seeing, looking at it. I'd also think of lighthouses, lakeside, with sunshine. If they were more sparkling blues.
Too much bright colors overwhelm me. I think I’m a winter, but I wear only neutrals to brighter colors. The brightest I go are light blue jeans and a darker red 😅
I am a fan of mixing red with turquoise and camel. I am a warm spring.
I also enjoy mixing red and camel
I'm also fond of pairing red (maroon or red-orange/ rust) with camel. I'm a warm autumn.
Sounds beautiful!
I would love practical advice on how to dress as a spring with examples.
Great idea!
I always agree with your tips😊
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching!
I love pairing red with blue. I put burgundy and cornflower blue or royal blue together often. 🙂
Love that!
I find it hard with soft autumn reds.Just end up in rusty brick red or warm burgundy. I miss tomato red!
Keep wearing it if it makes you happy. It’s still an autumn colour ☺️
@@sarahryanthestylecoach I can't unsee how much better the muted reds are on me now....
Red and blue for me on the 4th of July I am
From the USA
Great combination!
I am a winter and love to wear true red. Recently, I have also started to pair burgundy and dark teal.
Love that!

Red and turquoise are one of my all time favorites!
Glad it was helpful!
I like to wear my autumn reds with khaki browns and golds. Never thought to try with deep teal!
Oh those combinations sound delicious!
Well done. So happy for your comment not to combine colour with Black. Love Red with pink or pink with orange.
Ooh yes pink and orange! Wonderful!

Gorgeous combinations! So fun! 🤩
I like red and pink and red and purple 😊
So nice together :)

Oh yes, purple and yellow are fabulous together! Give it a go! I think you would like it!
I'm a dark winter. I wear black all the time with colors. It's my standard! 😄
Super! Me too!
Same here
Another fantastic clip, thank you!! I love the bold colours paired together. All of these combos are great!
Thank you so much!

I had to google snow white's red just to be sure but it is definitely cool :)

I think you can make anything work especially if you are using the colours is varying quantities. I can image that working :)

I know it’s a bit classic and boring- but I really love red and camel.
Not boring at all!
You forgot to mention deep cool red and black. Superb combination ❤
Sounds great! Of course there are many more combinations. Impossible to mention them all!
