- In 1965, the Mercedes 600 Pullman appeared in the Corgi catalog. Meetoy was the first to use movable windshield wipers on a die-cast model. In addition, the side windows in the Mercedes were lowered manually. My model had a broken windshield. It was rough and in this way it imitated rain. I leveled the scratch by inserting the wet glass in the liquid for plastic regeneration into the vacuum chamber. The vacuum caused the fluid to penetrate the crack instead of air, and the crack was less visible. I made new black-dyed polyurethane tires and a box based on photos from the internet. In the 70s There used to be Matchbox - Lesney Product toy model cars, trucks bus etc. from England. I lost most of the models including Golden colour Mercedes Benz model in my childhood days. I regret losing such valuable treasures.

I actually had this exact Mercedes Pullman when I was young. I remember the how the rear windows could down and how you could have the windshield wipers on or off as it rolled. One of my favorite among my huge Corgi collection. So wild to see this vid on it.

that model must have had slim proffit margins though and possibly even lost money as even just the assembly without even mentioning the design and engineering was tricky and time consuming

Sehr schönes Modell, von Corgi kannte ich es noch gar nicht, nur von Siku. Die Scheibenwischer sind ja extravagant! Sehr schön restauriert, wobei mir die Farbe nicht gefällt, ich hätte auf Originalität verzichtet und den natürlich schwarz geduscht 😜👍👍👍

what a odd corgi car. Wonder why they felt the need to give it working window wipers. Nice job restoring it they never sold one like that in America.
My thinking was; What other moving part (powered by rolling the car) would make sense? Windshield wipers are about it!

My mother worked in Mettoys ,Swansea , she would bring us home cars and things . I remember a pump action hopping frog ,no idea what happened to it . Sure i have this car and others ,mostly in not great shape ,as we did play with them .

great restoration & attention to detail, just a quick thought & i hope you don't mind my suggestion for the future if you do another Mercedes why not try using a cheap divers watch hour hand for the radiator grill badge thinking of the rolex style hour hand
