I really enjoyed this video John! I was born in Philly and lived there until I was 10. We lived a stone's throw from Penrose Yard. We later moved to Western PA and I was always near the tracks. After getting married, we lived right next to the PC mainline in Latrobe PA. I eventually moved to North Carolina because of my job. Now I live in a town where we get one train per day, a little local. I miss those days of train watching. Thanks for the memories 😊
Really glad you enjoyed it, John. I was spoiled growing up where I could ride my bike 1/2 mile to the NEC after school most days. GG-1s, Metroliners, E33s, E44s, Amtrak E60s, heritage fleet cars, Penn Central commuter and freights - all electric but for the occasional diesel way freight! I took it for granted like that was normal.
@@Johns0gaugeAndH0trains That was the same with me and steam locomotives. As a kid, they seemed to be everywhere, and then they were gone. I was too young to understand what was going on. I was born in 1945, steam was gone from the Pennsy in 57 and the B&I in 58. The GG1s lasted until 83, so I got to ride behind them and photograph them.
That brings back memories, thanks for posting this vid!
@autoharpmeditations944 Thank you, Paul. It was a throwback to other times, and so enjoyable that I think I'll do it again.
