I tried light painting for the first time this week. Results were amazing if I do say so myself but this video has made me realise I now need photoshop 😂
Awesome vid - learnt a lot! I use GIMP to layer and edit images but never tried adding light in that way. Also use the brush rather than the selection tool, which is way slower and doesn’t give nearly as good a result, so will look out for that on GIMP. Awesome end results!
Now that was brilliant! The way you masked with using the selection tool, so much quicker than me masking and using the brush. Keep up the brilliant workm I've just subscribed, so I'll be flicking through your videos!
Great video. I have a question. If you’re just starting out and you don’t want to fork out for a monthly subscription to the Adobe package can you recommend a one off payment editor? I’ve been looking at something like Affinity as that’s a small one off payment. Perhaps a future video could be on editing software choices based on your needs as I know a few that just use the free LR app for IG but I want to learn more
Thats a really good question I have heard good things about affinity photo but never used it myself. I played around with liminar 4 for a while which was also pretty good. I use the Adobe package as I use lightroom photoshop and premier pro all the time. But there are some good free editors out there too. Gimp image editor is a great programme. 👍
Your last edit was my favourite! Are studios alot to hire out? That's something I've wanted to do for a while now. Also was the smoke a brush you added in PS?
This studio is very new and not sure on prices yet but they can be very pricey. But worth it if you have the right project. This is actually real smoke from a fog machine.
@@OliverLundy oh nice. I used to have a fog machine but sold it due to not really being able to use it outside. If I get a decent project I may look into studio hire
@@Matt_warren_photography I use smoke bombs when outside, but they are expensive and short lived, smoke machines are way better but work best inside of course.
Believe it or not that was with a microphone and as much audio treatment as I could do, it was just a super echo environment, but I will soon be getting a lavender mic setup for situations like this.
@@OliverLundy - Great! I've only just discovered your channel and love the content but the audio is really letting the quality down. Looking forward to watching more as you do great work.
@Steven Wade thanks, yeah it has been hard as I know the quality could be better. But I am having to adopt a done is better than perfect approach for now. I have a full time job, photography gigs and a baby. Life is pretty full on at the moment.
Love this bro! A shape of light, cool phrase too

Definitely looking forward to a joint shoot in the future!
@@Matt_warren_photography will have to come up with something special to make it a really fun one. Maybe something mid engined and Italian......
@@OliverLundy now that sounds very interesting!!!

@@OliverLundy yeah I've used smoke bombs a few times which have been good fun!
@@Matt_warren_photography fun but expensive at £8 per use.
It all seems very complicated to me but I like seeing them all the same.
Thanks mum! Always nice to know that no matter what I will always have at least one super fan.
Please please please buy a microphone.
