I love the Hamilton Cambridge area. Wondering if you checked out the steel stairs that take you to the top of Hamilton. Great views up there. You can cycle the whole top of the Escarpment and look down onto the city of Hamilton. Dundurn Castle is nice to visit there, the Cotton Factory all in the lower city and Sam Lawrence park on the top of the mountain. Loving all your videos! I read the article the city of Brantford put out on the homesick Aussie....
Awesome video Dan! Love your Ontario bike packing adventures. Your positive energy, determination, and sense of humour are very inspirational...hope you post more!
That's so cool! I know Townsville and Ingham swap streets (with Townsville having Ingham road, and Ingham having Townsville road lol) but never figured it'd extend into Canada.
Thanks for the video! Loved it. ❤ P.S. That’s strange, I never had issues with keeping my bike in my room. Maybe this is the person at the reception only.
Its ironic isnt it that your in Canada freezing your butt on your bike by choice! Feeling nostalgic for YOUR australian hometown where it is warm and toasty all year round and feeling chipper about it
just finished watching... you are really hilarious! Congratz on finding little Australia in Brantford! LOL I had a horrible experience when I took the wrong turn at Monarch Trail with a really heavy bike with full cargo... I found cycling thru hamilton-brantford trail extremely long and boring -- but then it was very hot that day so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy it that much. I think this is why i missed some of the sceneries I saw on this video. Damn monarch trail! LOL just kidding. I think I would've enjoyed that trail if I were not lugging an extremely heavy bike (with cargo) haha Thanks again for this video!
I can imagine the Hamilton to Brantford trail being frustrating as hell when lugging a full load behind you, it wouldn't be nice on a hot day at all. Mind you, I don't particularly recommend it when it's 3º either haha but it was certainly scenic. Thanks a lot for watching the video and sharing your experience!
Great story! Love your channel... What tire size do you run for riding on trails around the GTA? I suppose all of the gravel sections are on either soft or crushed stone Btw I have always wondered about that wooden structure all these years... thanks for closing the loop on it!
Thank you! I use pretty standard 28 * 1.35 tires and never had a problem with them. And yeah, all gravel trails I've been on are well-maintained and made up of crushed stone. I must have ridden past those wooden structures 40+ times over the years, can't believe it took me that long to stop there
Awesome, enjoy the ride, it's really nice! Hoping to see a video on it on your channel one day :) Broken elevators and missed trains, both super inconvenient!
Great! Yes Brantford is well worth a ride, Actually I use a gravel bike, it's a Marin Nicasio 2. It's got a steel frame & thicker tires than a road bike. It doesn't go quite so fast but I love that it has no problem at all on gravel trails which a road bike might struggle with.
Nice video. I am planning to take train from Kitchener to Montreal. Bike from Montreal to Kitchener. I am new in biking and older person, any suggestion please.
Hi Shahzad, this sounds like a great idea and I hope you're able to achieve your Montreal to Kitchener trip. In hindsight, think I packed too much gear for my Toronto-Montreal bike ride, especially food, water and clothes. I recommend taking the bare minimum and simply buying food & water on a daily basis from the small towns you'll pass through. I'd also say to delay the ride if the weather forecast isn't looking good, it was a real drag to ride through the rain on the first day. All the best, let me know if you do it!
thanks mate! this was fab
Cheers Andrea!
whoa so cool! i was just talking about my bike ride from mississauga to brantford and then I found this video!! Thanks for sharing!
No Perth st! Awesome video Dan! I did keep thinking you were wearing a Collingwood hat though! ;P
No Perth St unfortunately but I’ve recently learnt there are not one but two Perth’s in Ontario! Thanks dude, hope all is well with you

Thanks. Enjoying your cycling vids. And so glad for you, you found your sun glasses.
Cheers! My god, I would have been devastated if I didn't find them...

Thanks a lot Andy, I'll post more later in the year for sure!

Good point! I was curious if there was a Brantford Rd in any of those Aussie cities but I couldn’t find one. Townsville should reciprocate!
Thanks for the video! Loved it. ❤

Serenity now!
I'll be cycling to Brantford soon and this was exactly what I wanted to see. Also, elevators... they always break at the most inconvenient time. 😂
Awesome, enjoy the ride, it's really nice! Hoping to see a video on it on your channel one day :) Broken elevators and missed trains, both super inconvenient!
@@DanSchaumann I rode the trail yesterday. What a great place! I love rail trails and this one didn't disappoint.
I wonder if Brantford has an Ontario AFL team lol
Wow I'm going to try this. Are you riding a road bike for the terrain?
