Each silent reminder much like the last, conveying that it can't last forever no matter how oblivious you may become to the innate certainty. One facet of the song that I'd imagine some people would've glossed over are the lyrics clearly referencing the proposition of eternal life through "salty" decades of devout worship to reach that final goal. Now I may have drawn that connection myself, perhaps with a hint of bias surfacing my interpretation, nonetheless the blatant grey area feels almost naturally there for you to reach a similar epiphany despite it not having said that directly. I'm essentially going full circle here trying to piece together the almost story like picture that is being described. Moving on, it very clearly attempts at illustrating 'falsehoods' claimed as indisputable truth in old 'letters' or scriptures. Anyone else catch onto any of the subtle undertones paving religious contradiction? To wrap, I suppose the song in one collective thought, is that there is no proper expectation to be had, loathsome lies for comfort isn't what this life is about, what's right in front of you is all you get. The song with the video makes you feel a little terrified, especially at the end, but when you hear the song without the video or in design, you will feel enthusiasm and nostalgia for the past full of memories and sadness. A wonderful song that brought together all the feelings that I love to feel at the same time. “Continue making songs.”
This is my favorite song. It perfectly sums up everything i feel about religion and life and death all of which can be so heavy and depressing but at the same time the song feels hopeful and makes me feel like running towards something
I feel the same after listening! It makes it feel like it's okay there's a finite finish line, because it's not about this race but the journey and what we make of it. Peace and love.

This actually hits home, initially when I listened to it I thought it was talking about religion but after watching the video it really hits hard for me. I was actually raised in a cult and my sibling and I have been healing and struggling with the transition of having left it now that we're adults. It's been 2 years for me. Very few people really get how much of a struggle it is just keeping your sanity, personahood and sense of self alive while it's being hunted down for the entirety of your childhood to early adulthood
2017: wow this is actually a bop! 2018: this song is so underrated! 2019: this song fills me with so many emotions 2020: this brings back so many memories 2021: *the single moms 2 miles away: 😢*
This song is a memory core to me, I used to think about all the fun times I had with my friends during elementary school when this song played. Now it's all gone. I miss my old friends.
As far as i know, the meaning of this song is having ideas of the afterlife being pushed onto you, and that if you don’t believe in it, you will burn. even though you don’t want it. I honestly relate to this- “Sure it’s a calming notion, perpetual in motion for i don’t need the comfort of any lies.” This song is also just really good and amazing.
My interpretation was that this song means that living afraid of death will only waste your time, and you shouldn’t lie to yourself. Just go, do as much as you can before the limit runs up. “If you could pull the lever to live forever, would life have any meaning anymore?”
a man in the sky does sound unbelievable, so why does so called "God" have to punish us for that? what's next, unicorns giving me the cartel execution?
Sure, it's a calming notion, perpetual in motion But I don't need the comfort of any lies For I have seen the ending and there is no ascending Rise Oh, back when I was younger, was told by other youngsters That my end will be torture beneath the earth 'Cause I don't see what they see, when death is staring at me I see a window, a limit, to live it, or not at all If you could pull the lever to carry on forever Would your life even matter anymore? This song...makes me think of my earlier childhood. so nostalgic. i sometimes cry happy tears because those were such good times. my whole life flashed before my eyes in a second listening to this. thank you.
The fact that this song is a 7 years old and is popping out on RUclips shorts and video now makes me and if you put it on slow is got nostalgia but fast is like future so happy. It means no matter what happens the good music will always push through. Proud of y’all and keep making great music (quick rewind the old man that showed and blow the fire is dead he died like 2 years ago i think)
You either saw this on your home page 6 years later and clicked it, or you searched this with your own free will and you're an absolute legend for that
No matter where I go, I always come stumbling back here.... The day I don't come back is the day I succeed in life. Then after my success this will be listened by me again again again and again...
Sad, stuck in her own past because she’s reliving the best, as she already died during that fall, the grandpa, her will to live, but the memory is just fate, realizing she sings about her younger days as she is recalling, as a dead person would, she says she has seen the ending(her life) there is no ascending, because the cult did nothing, the grandpa helped her comeback, just to tell us, but realizes it’s already over for her, calming to finally rest in piece, a story with so many metaphors for me to understand, I enjoy that. Or that’s just some random cult trapping her
If anyone who is depressed, stressed, nostalgic, or anything negative is listening to this, just remember that you will always be remembered regardless of what you think, though you are part of 8.1 billion people, you always have something you are best at. Just trust the process and go for it, everything is better when tried than not doing so.
This song and group as a whole needs more recognition. This is fantastic art all the way through. From the film, to the music, to the story, to the consistency of amazing music. Just phenomenal
This song makes me remember my childhood! And it brings back a sort of soft nostalgia and I just wanna run through a field and fall into flowers. Everything is gone but the memories still linger to remind me, the world is beautiful.
Dude this is like finding a hidden gem, I wanna keep it to myself but at the same time I want it to blow up.

The song with the video makes you feel a little terrified, especially at the end, but when you hear the song without the video or in design, you will feel enthusiasm and nostalgia for the past full of memories and sadness. A wonderful song that brought together all the feelings that I love to feel at the same time. “Continue making songs.”
Brings a sense of nostalgia, like when I first realized that worth cannot be achieved, but always is there with you.
This song shows how i felt when i could not use my fingers to count my age anymore.

Lyrics are
Sure it's a calming notion, perpetual in motion But I don't need the comfort of any lies For I have seen the ending and there is no ascending Rise Oh, back when I was younger, was told by other youngsters That my end will be torture beneath the earth 'Cause I don't see what they see, when death is staring at me I see a window, a limit, to live it, or not at all If you could pull the lever to carry on forever Would your life even matter anymore? Sure it's a calming notion, perpetual in motion But it's not what you signed up for I'm sure there won't always be sunshine But there's this momentary beam of light You don't have to wait those salty decades To get through the gate, it's all in front of your face I'm sure there won't always be sunshine I'm sure there won't always be sunshine But there's this momentary beam of light I could cross the ocean in a fit of devotion For every shining second, this fragile body beckons You think you're owed it better believing ancient letters Sure it's a calming notion, but it's a lie

This actually hits home, initially when I listened to it I thought it was talking about religion but after watching the video it really hits hard for me. I was actually raised in a cult and my sibling and I have been healing and struggling with the transition of having left it now that we're adults. It's been 2 years for me. Very few people really get how much of a struggle it is just keeping your sanity, personahood and sense of self alive while it's being hunted down for the entirety of your childhood to early adulthood
it IS about religion, the video is about a cult. most cults are founded on religion anyhow.

As far as i know, the meaning of this song is having ideas of the afterlife being pushed onto you, and that if you don’t believe in it, you will burn. even though you don’t want it.
I honestly relate to this-
“Sure it’s a calming notion, perpetual in motion
for i don’t need the comfort of any lies.”
This song is also just really good and amazing.

Sad, stuck in her own past because she’s reliving the best, as she already died during that fall, the grandpa, her will to live, but the memory is just fate, realizing she sings about her younger days as she is recalling, as a dead person would, she says she has seen the ending(her life) there is no ascending, because the cult did nothing, the grandpa helped her comeback, just to tell us, but realizes it’s already over for her, calming to finally rest in piece, a story with so many metaphors for me to understand, I enjoy that.
Or that’s just some random cult trapping her
I see that her a#s is blind
thanks, I was trying to understand the meaning of the whole story, it makes sence, I like songs that have an actuall meaning in the videos!
