He wouldn't have been able to defend even if he had 4000 LP. The last two attacks from Zarc dealt 1800 and 2400 damage respectively (both were piercing damage due to SK Starving Venom's effect).
Sawatari definitely had the most impressive part of the Duel, and I do think he got robbed. Of course the other three Dimension Dragons are unbeatable; they've been evolving linearly, to be the best of their mechanic (at least, by Arc-V's own logic). But Pendulum evolved faster than Zarc was expecting, and Odd-Eyes was outpaced; even in Yuya's Deck, Nirvana High Paladin was out of its league, but Abyss Actors and D/D did things that Zarc was never planning on. He created Pendulum monsters in an attempt to ensure his immortality; it only makes sense that Pendulum monsters would finish him off, especially when used by someone who everyone disregarded as pathetic for most of the series. Reiji wastes his entire hand for 3 boss monsters and didn't opt to use any of his Dark Contract or D/D cards that would help solidify his victory. This is a testament to how they nerfed him hard just to give Yuya a win against him. Even after forcing Reiji to do literally nothing except use his 3 most powerful cards, Yuya still almost lost if it wasn't for the most bullshit card(s) by a mile. Not only was Yuya allowed to summon a powerful monster for free, but if and only if that monster died, he could just try again with the next card it let him add to his hand (no side effects either, since the Odd-Eyes never disappeared and was used to summon all of his new monsters in sequence. Funny enough, D/D/D Purple Armageddon received an effect in the TCG that counters this strategy in lieu of the ability to resist destruction by battle. I love the atmosphere and tone of the duel (some of my favorite in the whole franchise), the back and forth, the music (especially towards the end of it), and the finale was incredible. Yuya VS Reiji round 3 is another favorite of mine as well. I think the ending of the show had a lot of problems, but I loved the Ceremonial Duel.

I agree with you about the Yuya/Reiji vs Leo duel. The duel does get overlooked by a lot and is actually very good. I really like the dialogue between Reiji and Leo and the duelling action and Leo’s Spirit Tech Force deck is really cool and would like to see printed. Leo may have turned out to be a bit of a disappointment but he had great build up and awesome action and character moment in the flashback about Ray.
I'm gonna be that guy and proudly ask for Ranking every Edo Phoenix (GX) duel! The guy who literally came out of nowhere, and clapped both the strongest duelists in the duel academia like they were nothing.
My personal favorite Duel from Revolver isn't even from the Anime but from a Yugioh RUclips channel (YGOshow) that made him fight Bohman. I LOVED the Duel as hell, it definitely felt like smth coming from the Anime.
Reiji is most likely my favourite Arc-V decks. -He gives zero fucks. I think I only saw the guy sweat once. - The voice is awesome and I'm sad the voice actor is no longer appearing. - His deck uses Pendulums. - His deck is based in history or mythology, which is a big thumbs up for me.
It's both history and mythology. I love how the King D/D/Ds are historical figures, and then the D/D are creatures. There's also the Contracts which make the Archetype feel very complete. Kinda like the unification of Fluffal/Edge Imp/Frightfur in a way.
I have a question for you: If you do this kind of video for Edo/Asuka, Jack/Crow or Kaito, would you include the duels they had whilst being in Arc-V as cameos? Cause this could actually influence people's opinion on their suggestions.
Idea for a video, who has the best rivalry in Yu-Gi-Oh. By that I mean who is the best rival to there protagonist who brings out the best and worse of each other. I as a example Shark and Yuma have a long standing grudge that is payed off by the end in spectacular fashion. Other end of the spectrum Yaya and Regi never really feel like they strive to improve each other to me outside of the last dule. Great video man keep on being a badass content creator
Most likely one of them, personally I preferred the round 3 duel even though I do agree with the issues around it, Round 2 between Reiji and Yuya is not my “personal” favorite but I definitely respect those who ranked it pretty high considering that it is one of Reiji’s best duels in terms of quality. This list was fun and can’t wait for the next one. 👍🏻🥳
My favourite Reiji/Declan duel was his second duel against Yuya I think it was you who said that Yuya’s entertainment was forced (I agree by the way) and I loved the serious duel where Yuya was pissed at him for everything that happened with the tournament and forming The Lancers 😃😃😃
8 onscreen duels?? For such a great duelist and important character, that seems real low. Great list nevertheless, and easy number 1. I hope to one day see a list on the Hell Kaiser. One question I do have tho, what would take longer? Ranking every Judai duel or a video on every single HERO card??
It can be said that Reiji is one of the few rivals that hardly appears on screen and hardly has duels (Sawatari has more screen time and more duels than Reiji). All that theme reminds me of Roa in Sevens (Rival who is missing and who rarely has duels on screen)
@@brunosanto3488 Unfortunately Sevens has fallen into the same trap as Arc-V with having an expansive cast. However, Sevens can get away with this because of its formula allowing a duel every single week, giving Roa plenty of time to have more duels before the show ends. Heck, as of episode 61, he's already had 5 duels, which is 3 of Reiji's total in 148 episodes.
I would love to see a SHun ranking because he ahs some really good duels besides him vs sora that I won't to see where there ranked for you like SHun vs Kite and SHun vs Crow, and also SHun vs Dennis as well we're all such good duels that I won't to see get ranked
For me the reira vs reiji duel was actually one of my more higher placements. I put it in the spot where the Leo duel is because it felt underwhelming the duel and to make it worse it ends with no result thus we never get to see Leo be an actual opponent in battle. I very much enjoyed how reira was giving reiji a push coming off after he was losing his confidence with his duel with his father countering him just before this one! Forcing him to use action cards which for reiji was kinda rare to see him use! Everything else i have the same!
akaba reiji really didn't do much in the show, always working behind the scenes and such. I wanted more reiji duels. although he did give us some great summoning chants for us and always having his scarf defy gravity.
I liked Reiji, Shun, Sawatari, Sora, Yuzu, Serena, and most of the side characters. There's a huge reason I still consider Arc-V a favorite even if it has also let me down the most.
In my opinion, Arc V had an excellent cast that wasn't handled the best, both because the cast was so big and because the final season was rushed. RIP Yuzu and Serena, I'm sorry you two succumbed to Bracelet Girl Syndrome in Season 3. Still love you.
@@heavydonkeykong5190 At least we got to know more about Yuzu and Serena (Not to mention their interactions with the rest and the development of their personality) Rin and Ruri on the other hand...

And Rin was mostly only relevant to Yuto's arc. I feel like the brainwashing plot got in the way. It screwed over Yuzu and Serena's portrayals, and it prevented Ruri and Rin from being major players in the final Season like it felt the show was building up to.

Honestly I agree with your list it matches mine I'd trade barret and Zarc but I feel I have to correct you on something 1: Yuya was shaken up not because Reiji performed the summon it was because he had the cards as Sawatari also pendulum summoned not long before. 2: the card that Yuya referred to as what Yuto left behind for him was Dark Rebellion not shuffle reborn
Nice Job 👍 good Video next kaito or Manjome would love to see Manjome in this series since some think that GX is the worst yu gi oh show but it is one of the best
Number 1 is my favourite to think Reiji legitimately beating Yuya and doing it during Yuya’s turn - big oof. Also I think Reiji vs Z-ARC is criminal. Reiji would’ve easily beaten Z-ARC had he started but the writers just said no, Ray has to get the spotlight. Reiji did the best out of the Lancers so I’d swap that with the Leo duel. The Leo was a big disservice to Reiji. After showing all the skills Reiji has, it’s not fair Leo dominated all of Reiji’s tactics. Given how Leo is beaten by zarc later, it shows that he didn’t deserve to dominate Reiji. The Leo is easily nearer the bottom of my list honestly.
@@Inn1 It's the only way he'd ever realistically consider doing so for protagonists. I _suppose_ he could do Yusaku, given how short Vrains was, or do duels where Yugi dueled any amount of time by himself, but that's about it; anime protagonists have dueled _way_ too much otherwise. Tho we will be getting it de facto for Yuya(a) once his Arc-V rewatch via Twitch wraps up, as he's said he'll do a ranking of ALL Arc-V(a) duels once it's done.
You could always split up Judai based on the seasons and tackle it one at a time. Though if you’re gonna continue this series: I think Yuzu, Aoi, Revolver, Pegasus, Bastion, Leo and Luna, Vector, and IV would be easier for you since they only have 3 through 10 duels for you to work with.
Yuya vs Reiji R2 Is my second favorite duel in ARC V as well as Shun vs Sora is my number 1 duel. My third is favorite is Shun vs Dennis I agree with your list as well
Reiji/Declan Akaba my absolute favorite Yu-Gi-Oh Rival til I catch up on Vrains and Sevens. Most of his duel screen times are a niche but some are really great, I put Yuya vs Reiji Round 2 as my favorite duel from him I mean all 3 Yuya vs Reiji Duels are on my top 4 of the 8 but I’d switch my number 2 and 3 favorites Yuya & Reiji vs Leo Akaba being my number 2 favorite and Yuya vs Reiji round 3 on my number 3 favorite
It's a testimony to Yuuya's skills that Reiji, despite being an incredibly talented duelist, lost the only duel against Yuuya where he didn't have time to plan a counter to every trick he'd watched Yuuya pull at that point. In their one duel without that advantage, Reiji very nearly still won, but Yuuya overcame him.
My ranking: 8. Reiji vs Barrett 7. Reiji vs Reira 6. Reiji vs Zarc 5. Reiji vs Jean Michel Roger 4. Reiji vs Yuya Round 1 3. Reiji & Yuya vs Akaba Leo 2. Reiji vs Yuya Round 2 1. Reiji vs Yuya Round 3
Yugi's still better at making infinite loops that kill. His 3-trap combo vs. Diva in the movie was nuts and LITERALLY came out of nowhere which made it so goddamn good. That said, Roget deserved to get checkmated by Reiji's infinite loop.
I'd have put Reiji vs Reira higher, just because of how close it was. Reiji would have lost and it was the first and only time he needed to run for an Action Card, to the point where Reira was actually stocked that he even did.
His duel with Yuya in round 2 is my favorite even though the reason Yuya lost is because of his over-realiance of Odd eyes and his own anger getting the better of him.
And who knows maybe akaba raiji dimension D/D/D cards will become the ultimate DDD pendulum fiend monster just like yuya zarc Ultimate Dragon card and we do need a ritual yuboy and a ritual dragon I hopefully they do that in the future but I doubt it because Konami don't have ideas anymore

My personal favorite Duel from Revolver isn't even from the Anime but from a Yugioh RUclips channel (YGOshow) that made him fight Bohman. I LOVED the Duel as hell, it definitely felt like smth coming from the Anime.
@@revolverkyosuke7049 Revolver and kalin are the best characters!
Some ideas:
DM - Jounouchi duels
GX - Hell Kaiser duels
VRAINS - Aoi Zaizen
Aoi's Duels Ranking would be depressing as hell (At least for me).
It would be better to replace Aoi with Soulburner or Revolver.
@@brunosanto3488 It would be like handing out a participation prize.
Revolver is my daddy
Best Reiji duel, against Yuya with the Heartland Action Field.
A close second would be his infinite loop thing against Jean Michel Roger.
Zettai Mugen loop
Soulburner or revolver is a definite must do for this series
I have a question for you:
If you do this kind of video for Edo/Asuka, Jack/Crow or Kaito, would you include the duels they had whilst being in Arc-V as cameos? Cause this could actually influence people's opinion on their suggestions.
At least I hope there's clarity on that.
Imagine how long one of these videos would be on the main protagonists
Yugi and Jaden would be quite long in his opinion since they have had the most duels of all the protagonists.
Yuma and Shark's final duel is incredible. I think their character arcs converged perfectly.
Great video. I would definitely like to watch more of these videos.
Akaba Reiji is one of the best strategic duelist in the Yu-Gi-Oh series
Most likely one of them, personally I preferred the round 3 duel even though I do agree with the issues around it, Round 2 between Reiji and Yuya is not my “personal” favorite but I definitely respect those who ranked it pretty high considering that it is one of Reiji’s best duels in terms of quality.
This list was fun and can’t wait for the next one. 👍🏻🥳
I really wish we could get the C/C/C cards. I love the concept of them.
Also, great vid!
I want to see Playmaker ranking duel next
Excellent video man!
My favourite Reiji/Declan duel was his second duel against Yuya
I think it was you who said that Yuya’s entertainment was forced (I agree by the way) and I loved the serious duel where Yuya was pissed at him for everything that happened with the tournament and forming The Lancers 😃😃😃
This character has crept up to my top 5 favourite characters in all of Yu Gi Oh
He’s my number 1
I’d love a Shun ranking or Soulburner if you don’t want to repeat ARC V
The few rival protagonist that actually beat the main protagonist skillfully.
Do Jim crocodile cook next. his cool fossil deck duels deserve to be talked about
honestly, i would love to see a list of the best and worst of Crow hogan's duels since he's one of my favorite characters in 5ds
Now we need one for shay
Reiji/Declan is what you get if you put an actual tcg player inside of the anime.
I would love to see a SHun ranking because he ahs some really good duels besides him vs sora that I won't to see where there ranked for you like SHun vs Kite and SHun vs Crow, and also SHun vs Dennis as well we're all such good duels that I won't to see get ranked
Would love to see Kaito in one of these. Zexal and Arc-V
Revolver needs something like this too!
akaba reiji really didn't do much in the show, always working behind the scenes and such. I wanted more reiji duels. although he did give us some great summoning chants for us and always having his scarf defy gravity.
For Me The Best Duel In Yu Gi Oh Series Is The Duel Of
Shun Kurosaki VS. Sora Shiunin
Yuya Sakaki VS. Joeri/Yuri
Would be great to see another rival video with someone like Kaito or Revolver.
Given this man’s opinions in the past I think I know what number 1 will be.
Rank every Kaito duel pleaseeeeee !!!!
I loved Reiji. Him and Shun were my favorite characters of Arc V. Too bad he barely had any duels
@@heavydonkeykong5190 At least we got to know more about Yuzu and Serena (Not to mention their interactions with the rest and the development of their personality)
Rin and Ruri on the other hand...
@@brunosanto3488 definitely. Ruri had a lot going for her given all of the mystery surrounding her, Shun, and Yuto at the start, but we never even get an interaction between her and Yuzu despite the show seemingly building to that. And Rin was mostly only relevant to Yuto's arc.
I feel like the brainwashing plot got in the way. It screwed over Yuzu and Serena's portrayals, and it prevented Ruri and Rin from being major players in the final Season like it felt the show was building up to.
@@heavydonkeykong5190 Brainwashing and Female Characters is an iconic Yu-Gi-Oh duo (In the same style as Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes)
What other iconic duo exists in Yu-Gi-Oh?
I hope we see more of reiji akaba his Dimension demon card support and I hope all them become super or ultimate rare or secret rare card and I hope all his cards will be in the next booster pack of 2022 with more pendulum monster support
Honestly I agree with your list it matches mine I'd trade barret and Zarc but I feel I have to correct you on something
1: Yuya was shaken up not because Reiji performed the summon it was because he had the cards as Sawatari also pendulum summoned not long before.
2: the card that Yuya referred to as what Yuto left behind for him was Dark Rebellion not shuffle reborn
Nice Job 👍 good Video next kaito or Manjome would love to see Manjome in this series since some think that GX is the worst yu gi oh show but it is one of the best
i would want to see kite tenjo
You should do every duel Kite has been in
Suggestions: Judai, Yusei, or Yuya's duels from the manga.
Barring that, go to DM with someone popular like Pegasus, Marik, or Mai.
@chistopher B. I hope Dylan does the Manga Duel ranks 2 like he does with Anime
@@christopherb501 Yep especially Aki's Manga duels; she beats Yusei and loeses 2 him off screen; she even beats Crow and Sherry.
@@Inn1 I don't even know if he'd count the former, given its brevity.
Yusei _did_ lose to Jack tho, so there's hat.
@@christopherb501 Yep even Aki lost 2 Jack 2 but later on Yusei beats Jack in SP1-SP2 .
I would love to see Joey wheeler, Zane trusdale, and shark they all have suck amazing duels in the series
My top 3 are:
Reiji Vs Reira
Reiji and Yuya Vs Leo
Reiji Vs Roget
I would like to see Rio Kastle and Aster Phoenix’s duels ranked next please
I really love Arc V, but I only have a problem with this anime, Yuya use a lot of Action Cards
Ranking Yuzu or Aoi's duels would be depressing as hell, especially Aoi.
At least Yuzu will defend herself with Arc-V Season 1
Easily one of the best things about arc v with my favorite archetype.
I thought he only had 4 duels.😂
Personally I'm hoping to see you do a character like Chazz/Monjoume in the future despite his whole 18 duels you would have to wade through.
Yuya vs Reiji R2 Is my second favorite duel in ARC V as well as Shun vs Sora is my number 1 duel.
My third is favorite is Shun vs Dennis
I agree with your list as well
Few, but great duells.
It would be really cool if you did this to with Revolver and Kalins duels. This is such good content 🔥🔥🔥
Please do more videos like this it’s really entertaining
English dub Reigi sounds like he's dueling at a library.
Who else has akaba reiji as there favorite character
Me, though other characters are close
@@JohnLee-sw6sh same for me shun and Yuri are really close
He is one of my favorite characters from arc v
Favorite character in Arc-V, and the best rival in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! series.
I would love to see Sora or Revolver duels!
All shun/shay duels pls
It's a testimony to Yuuya's skills that Reiji, despite being an incredibly talented duelist, lost the only duel against Yuuya where he didn't have time to plan a counter to every trick he'd watched Yuuya pull at that point. In their one duel without that advantage, Reiji very nearly still won, but Yuuya overcame him.
Yeah...but he had to rely on nonsense action cards to do it....
My ranking:
8. Reiji vs Barrett
7. Reiji vs Reira
6. Reiji vs Zarc
5. Reiji vs Jean Michel Roger
4. Reiji vs Yuya Round 1
3. Reiji & Yuya vs Akaba Leo
2. Reiji vs Yuya Round 2
1. Reiji vs Yuya Round 3
Ranking every duel:
Revolver/Varis
Zane Truesdale
Joey Wheeler
Trudge
Playmaker
Yusei Fudo
I like Reiji vs Jean Migel Roget because he is defeated by an infinite Lup.
....
I'll see myself out, thank you.
Yugi's still better at making infinite loops that kill. His 3-trap combo vs. Diva in the movie was nuts and LITERALLY came out of nowhere which made it so goddamn good.
That said, Roget deserved to get checkmated by Reiji's infinite loop.
I would like to see the duels ranked in order of Shark.
Let's have best kaito tenjo zexal duels
Soulburner? He was an awensome character in vrains would love to see your opinion on his duels
Reiji The masters of the combos
