This is not Real RBR game not even close, this is Full of mods RBR nothing reminds the old game .
@Tripokaridos22 @Tripokaridos22 I don't think many would play a 20 year old game if it didn't have mods. The community made this game still relevant 🙂
@@ProjectSimRacing Very True but after mods this Stops to be RBR , Its a way different game . And honestly If DR or DR2.0 has a way to get mods ( easy way) it will be the NEW RBR . The problem with Modern Graphics Engines is that is hard to mod them, For Example see BeamNG amazing physics but it takes so many years and even now with that old engine is not 100% ready .
I see where you're coming from, and you've raised an interesting point about the evolution of RBR through mods. While it might have drifted from its original version, I believe the community has done a great job in enhancing the game, bringing new dimensions that have kept it alive and well-loved even today. As for DR2, unfortunately, Codemasters hasn't facilitated mod support yet, limiting similar growth and evolution for it. It's still a great game as it is but mods can really make a game even greater even if not always..

After coming to this video after watching the new WRC gameplay reveal from EA I have to say this looks more realistic visually. Something about the lighting in this is fooling my brain really well. Looks incredible for a near 20 year-old game.

This is my neighborhood, I lived 10 km away, I was 19 years old and I had a BMW E30 2.0 with a welded diff and every time it rained I met up with my friends and we drifted there (nobody even knew it was called drift yet) we even managed to do it sometimes make some tandem. Many times someone had to come in a jeep to pull us out of the bushes. The police didn't chase us. Such a nice time, it was 2007-2008 i think. I didn't even know there were rallies there

You know its really hard to tell that this game is almost 20 years old. They did such a good job. All the work that has been put into it over the years is greatly appreciated. It's crazy that this is the area I live in, I know this piece of public road very well from the real life and suddenly here it is available for grinding on the edge. A new track "SS2: ZAGÓRZE - LUBACHÓW" is currently in development by Baran Tracks, which is an another iconic stage near me. Life is beautiful!

The color grading or something on this game makes it look very realistic on proper maps. It reminds me of that Unrecord game, if you've ever seen it. Wonder what a video like this would look like with a filter and a vintage rally car?

Mine first racing game was Project Cars 1 if I recall correctly. I played it for two days straight and I loved it, I even had a racing wheel while at it

Looks more authentic than every other racing game out there. The colour the light the texture its all accurate to real life footage. WRC 23 can’t compete with this. No other racing game can…
Richard Burns Rally, with its attention to detail in color, lighting, and texture, and everything else really does have a unique place in sim racing for realism😊
Just installed RBR, coming from EA WRC. It's a conpletely different style guide and I'm having some trouble with fanatec CSL DD settings.

Looks better than EA WRC, only the sound isn't there. It's crazy how they screw up WRC year after year and now even the studio changed. This twenty years old graphics engine looks better. The vegetation looks so nice, who cares that they are only cards. I mean look at EA WRC Croatia and the trees 🥴

It varies depending on the car. What I love about RBR is that it provides the steering angle for each vehicle. So, I adjust my settings based on that for every car. 😊

Thank you so much! I truly appreciate the kind words. I genuinely love both RBR and DiRT Rally 2.0. Each of them has its own unique strengths, and they offer distinct driving experiences. It's great to enjoy the best of both worlds!
I would say dirt rally feels a bit more arcady but with the better graphics and the incredible sound it really creates an imersion and a great flow. Richard burns feels just rougher (u can really feel the violence of driving a rally). The damage model is way more realistic as well and therefore the game is way more unforgiving. If u go flat out like in dirt rally, it will be a much bigger risk in rbr, as u cant save the car as easy or bumb the car against a rock and go on (for example if u hit ur wheel with only like 20 mph ur wheel will wobble like crazy and it really impacts the ff and the feel of the car). Both games are great. If i want to challange myself i go for rbr. If i want to flat out my car and just want to have fun i go for dirt as its much more forgiving and its much easier to drive consistent at a fast pace.

You have given a spot-on breakdown. Personally, I love the rawness and authenticity of RBR; it genuinely challenges me every time. But Dirt Rally 2.0, with its polished graphics and sound, offers its own kind of thrill. Each has its moments depending on what mood I'm in!😁
Comparing these games is simply not fair. There is a big year difference between them. You can compare the original version of dirt 2 Colin McRae Rally with RBR and the latter wins without a doubt. And nothing more realistic in terms of physics (after modifications by enthusiasts), nothing compares to this old man.

I have never seen you slip the wheel through your hands. Do you think that having a round wheel for a rally sim really is necessary?
In rally sim racing, maintaining full control of the steering wheel is crucial, which is why you don't see me letting the wheel slip through my hands. While a round wheel can be helpful for this style of racing, it's not an absolute necessity. However, for drifting, a round wheel is more important due to the specific maneuvers involved. 😊
RBR is the only rallye game in which driving straight is already bloody difficult.

Exactly right! Since RBR doesn't have functioning in-car gauges, I decided to repurpose my old Samsung Note 20 to display the gauges. I initially believed that I could only use one device at a time with SimHub, but to my delight, both the tablet and the phone worked simultaneously. It was a pleasant surprise and I think it looks perfect 😁

This game looks insane, I really like EA WRC but this game make me see how much further they could have pushed the graphical look and fidelity in WRC and didn't. This just looks so real and cool while EA still have that slight videogame look. Some stages better than others but it's the choice of lighting and tone, not sure why they always stick to that semi cartoon look. I guess it have it's place, I rather have that look than bad realistic look because that is worse. Then it just look dull and like an old game, it needs to be done with finesse and thought behind it.

rbr looks so realistic when your moving but when your at a stand still it looks terrible 😂

dunno why this car loses rear on acceleration that much, it is not the case in real world, I got 350BHP BMW in real and it does not like that on asphalt
@gnt3c! It's important to remember that a street car like your BMW isn't set up the same way as a rally car. Everything from the differential setup, tires, gearbox, and everything else basically, plays a crucial role. The weight is a significant factor too! I totally get your point, but from my own experience, even a 230hp BMW can lose grip on asphalt like it's on ice. Reminds me of my time with a 330 E46😁

It looks like this car is very unstable to drive at high speeds. Like on ice, constantly counteracting the steering wheel :)
