🇦🇺You need to have some shelters put up and have gutters that run into large (1000 lb) water tanks (2 per shelter) as a back up. When you have rains they will fill up quickly.

I can’t argue with that! All it takes is money. 🤣🤣🤣

So so true friends. We have to love this one life we’ve been given. If you’re burning yourself out trying to do “all the things” then why? You’ve got to enjoy the journey, not just the end. You do it well, thanks for teaching us!

Oh thank y’all!!! No joke, you helped jump start this project with the LockJawz!! I would have delayed and delayed the fencing because I didn’t want to build H braces. 🤣

Great job. Such a lovely family. Even rat themselves out when they steal ideas. 😂🤣

All this is possible because of the ability to irrigate and access to that large co-op water source. Many/most people don't have that option.

Not sure I understand what you mean?
Do you mean most people don’t have access to water? Not even a well?

Your version looks smaller and lightweight, but if you search on fence post driver, you will find similar items. Bon Tool has a rebar post driver, but it is a little pricey.

It’s looking good you should look into soon because you have paddock to plant some hay seeds or some some type of something that they would like to eat whether it’s alfalfa or whatever and you can harvest it🌱🌱

We don't have a perimeter fencing.
We definitely want goats and sheep and this type of fencing may work to graze on a rotation.
We just have tons of mesquite trees.
    We live in Northwest Texas.
    Love your channel!
We definitely are trying to learn how to be a good steward of our small acreage.

Hi Sonja and Greg! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!
Oooo yes, perimeter fencing will definitely need to be your first step. And we’ve seen other homesteads use this type of fencing as a perimeter fence!
But official field fencing or horse fencing would be better for your perimeter fence. At least for goats. Goats are known to escape, which is why we’ve never tried to raise them.
We are swamped chasing our 5 human kiddos! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
      Thanks again!

Sheep and Goats are great from a rotational grazing manure spread, worm cycle break, and weed management POV, if you can crack the disrespect for fencing they have. You may want to invest in some netting for them... or a Border Collie 🤣

How do I so one acre?

    • @BetterTogetherLife
      @BetterTogetherLife  19 дней назад

Great question! Hmm, for one acre I’m not sure if I’d go with cattle. Maybe a couple of goats or sheep? Or actually I’d raise chickens, ducks, and fruit and fodder trees to start.
And then once those are established I’d get maybe a couple of sheep and those fodder trees will be so much help!
