Great to see you getting sponsored. There are automotive youtubers with less than 100k subs getting flown all over the world to test the latest and greatest from supercar manufacturers.
You do such beautiful work!!! Such a pity you couldn't work half of the year here in the states preferably on the east coast in NJ you would make a killing over here. We are not blessed with the high level of detailing you offer. I would give my first born to have my baby washed and detailed by you. (Don't say anything to the son he may take offence to me offering him up for detailing services lol)
Great vlog as usual, thank you what a car. I have a very similar CYC mf drying towel and before long they start to lint. What do you do to combat this? I feel a video on maintaining our cleaning and detailing products would be very informative.
Few points. Always use a pre-cleanse before attempting to wash using a mitt or you’ll cause swirl marks. When you dry it, always use clean and multiple dry towers. You don’t need a polishing machine for a brand new car like yours, you’ll only be stripping away a think layer of lacquer. You’d be better off wrapping it for protection
Car Cleaning Guru I had a S3 British racing green colour. I use to wash it just the boring way cheap shampoo and that’s that. Now I’m in to all the detailing and washing a car properly wish I still had it. I’m thinking of getting a Chimaera so when I get one I’ll give you a shout.
Compressed air or a leaf blower is beyond useful for drying a supercar. Nothing bothers me more when you drive off and water starts flying out of the mirrors and vents on the side of the car
Unless the Guru is wearing pads under his leg wear/padded leg wear I agree. I work meeting a lot of old chaps and remember an old boy once saying he worked on fixing buses back in the day and on his knees and in his old age he really struggled.
I used to be perfectly happy ignoring the grime building up on my car/motorcycle. Maybe power wash them every month or two but essentially couldn't care less. Now whenever they start to look grubby I feel ashamed and compelled to clean them.
Regarding the cost to clean a car like this, the owner isn't surely just paying for your time Guru, but more your experience and expertise in how to treat and clean vehicles like this in a best and safe way, so imo at least your pricing on 'special' cases like this should reflect it.
@@georgewhiteford9869 you might be surprised to hear that most well off people who own nice cars, don't want to spend more money than necessary on them.
Washing my outback's exterior takes sometimes 2 hours sometimes 3 hours. If I'm gonna wash a supercar, it would take one day to wash the exterior :D :D
Great vid and a superb exotic, beautiful job! My 2 cents you would have to charge more to detail a vehicle of this caliber for the fact that it is more challenging than a run of the mill vehicle. As you pointed out all the different materials including extremely expensive carbon fiber etcetera. If you were to damage any of those surfaces by using the wrong product or technique you as the detailer would be liable, unless you have your clients sign some type of a liability waiver. This should be factored into the pricing of detailing.
gday mate, oh i missed all your videos, i think i have watched all of them since becoming a viewer for you. always do a great job and your work is always enjoyable to watch :) keep up the awesome work mate and please bring more videos, what car havent you done a wash on yet that you would like to do??

Thank you for taking our comments on board from your last video. Thoroughly enjoyed the sounds of the car being washed instead of music over the top of the video! Keep it up.
excellent in-depth video as alway " guru" but the pressing questions on ones mind is " if thats in the garage then what's under the cover outside " ???
Would you need to take out extra insurance before cleaning a supercar like this, just in case the owner claimed against any accidental damage inflicted?
Back in 1991 when I was 20 I used to clean a Ferrari owned by my girl friend of the time Mums boss who had a brand new Testarossa Rosso with saddle leather and apart from it being really low, very sharp vents and slots. The products used was the cutting edge of 1990 car detailing products in the day. turtle wax colour match red wax and back to black shine spray. Soap was Fairy liquid. Not hard to clean really but I spent hours and hours on it as it was the top of the top sports motors at the time. I almost wore out my miami vice, U2 mix tape playing it while pretending to clean the interior on the drive. When in my mind I was chasing drug dealers along the Miami strip!! Cheers
No matter the length of your videos, it is always a pleasure to watch. Your script and delivery are continually outstanding; your photography is wonderful, and there always seems to be a new insightful look into detailing in some respect often overlooked. Thank you for your work not only on car detailing, but also in sharing your experiences the way you do.
My mate brought his lambo over for the weekend. Getting those rims clean was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life lol. Car was low enough to easily clean and dry the rest of it
Important point not mentioned is that if you clean cars professionally you should have an insurance policy in place that covers you for accidental damage to a customer's car. Imagine the owner of that Ferrari suing you for damaging his £18k paint job or your neighbour claiming a full respray against you because his paintwork is now ruined. Extreme cases I know but in this world of compensation culture one case, even speculative, could ruin your reputation and/or put you out of business.
As a fellow car detailer i totally agree with you, most of the time i'm cleaning filthy run of the mill family wagons, however when cleaning a supercar it's hard to know how to price it. Question. what camera and editing software are you using mate? Just i'm thinking of starting my youtube channel also. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I have the unenviable task of detailing a Ferrari F40 and a Lamborghini Aventador a couple of time per year. When you look closely at the F-40, they really are pretty poorly made. The Lamborghini Aventador (same customer) by contrast is exquisite and well screwed together. I have a roll of painters plastic masking film... I damp the floor to make the film stay put, put the film on the floor and the car is rolled over the top. That way I stay clean and Im working on a clean floor surface.
Why do valeters never use compressed air cleaning tools? Great for cleaning cars especially underneath, or in-between panels, seals and tight gaps, engine bays, arround buttons, vents, wheel arch plastics, window seals, wheels and brakes, old carpets and seats, you can even get attachments that suck the dust up via a hoover for doing interiors and cloth etc, great for drying the car too whilst dry wiping after a wash, I'm no valeter but my 20 year old VW looks brand new with mirror finish paint and I never use expensive cleaning products, just lemon based shampoo with micro fibre cloths and a hot wax rinse through the pressure washer...the compressed air will remove most of the dirt before the wash, rally teams use it too, obviously rally teams don't care about scratching the car and use a very high pressure air hose in a hurry, but so long as the car isnt covered in mud and small stones and some common sense is used, it won't chip, scratch or peel any paint.
As former Ferrari national concourse judge, cars with dressed tyres got marked down. My 308 was basically the same as any other car when it came to cleaning with a much simpler aero design than this one! Not that I clean it very often, as I prefered to drive the old shitter than clean it. She was often filthy with road grime as was used as a daily driver.

The more expensive the car, the higher the responsibility is, which is also higher risk, which means it’s going to cost more if something was to go wrong and simply for those reasons i charge more. I know this is going to sound silly but without sounding like a brand snob i think on a more prestige car it’s deserves only the best, which is more cost for expensive products, i have a price for more of a deluxe offering so in essence if the owner wants to pick the best then the car receives the best but then the price increases!
