    OK, in one scene you have a standard 12V charger plug connected to the board and then connected to, probably, a standard 22V wall charger. The next scene you show a usb socket. What happened? Is that usb now your input and output? Why would you use a usb to transfer 12V??

    2:22 Okay, so it is actually the 12v power supply that actually charges the 18650 batteries. The BMS is not what actually charges the batteries. That's all I wanted to know because I've done tons of google searches on this and nobody could provide me with the answer I was looking for. Thanks.

      Don't charge it directly without the BMS for safety

    By all 3 cells having 4.2 V =12.6 V their at 100 % SOCIETY. Charger or BMS should protect from over charging , what obviously does not happen. Looks to me like a huge lack of understanding the risks of a thermal breakdown

    what adapter's voltage and amp to charge this battery through bms?

  • @GearGuy
    @GearGuy 2 года назад +1

    How are you charging it from USB-C? What voltage, what power supply? If you are using PD then are you using a cheater cable to get 12v? How are you achieving CCCV (constant current, constant voltage) at 12.6 volts from the charging cable? Thanks.

      Charging Voltage: 12.6-13V

      @@YellowPurple What happens if you only supply 12V?
      And btw, this board is just a BMS right? Would you would still need a proper Li charger?

    • @ClemOnShow
      @ClemOnShow Год назад +2

      @@vinigretzky97 This is correct a BMS does not handle the lithium charge but its discharge. To handle charge you'd need a TP4056 or a TP5100 per cell. In that sense the video is a bit misleading as the lithium chemistry doesn't have a great lifespan with a constant voltage and constant current charge.

    How to determine if the battery is fully charge?

    • @sharpmerciful787
      @sharpmerciful787 Год назад

      That's what I wanna know too. There's an induction heater thing that I'm learning about. It's like a 16 oz Starbuck induction heater for a Dynavap M Vaporizer. There's a green LED connected to a momentary push button that lets you know when it is pushed (green if pushed or nothing if released). Then there's a blue LED connected to a toggle switch (1) if powering by 18650 batteries, 2) if powering by 12v power supply, or 3) off.) In the diagram, it shows that there should be a GND wire starting from the main wires and connecting to the blue LED, but I don't know how you'd be able to do that without doing a lot of splicing of wires, which is where I'm lost. I believe the 18650 batteries get charged by the 12v power supply? Someone has also wanted to put 2 more LEDs, a red one and a green one indicting whether the battery is charging and when it's fully charged, but they don't know how to do it.
