Love my 2017 Elantra Sport, even stock the car is a blast to drive. The DCT is very responsive and feels very well done, and you have to love the Audi designer's influence on the body style.
David, you were absolutely instrumental in my purchase of this car. I've owned it for roughly 6 month as a daily and it's everything I wanted and more. I only wish you could review more!

Everything except for the Elantra SPORT came with a 2.0L NA in-line 4, btw, the 1.6T and the manual were only available in the Elantra Sport. Great review!
Did you get the manual or dct? I came from a manual on my last car so I went for the dct but I feel like either choice I made I would have always wondered about the other
Hey David, fun fact for ya, I am the new owner of the turbo kit on this car that you reviewed! Glad you liked the car so much! If your ever out to Cali you should review my car!
This makes me wish that I would've kept my 92 Plymouth Colt with the 4g61t in it with the 1st gen DSM turbo parts on it. My grandfather bought the Colt brand new for like $6000 and it had a 4g15 1.5L 12 valve 93HP engine with a stock 4 speed manual...in a 1992. Anyway, I bought a bone stock 4g61t (89 Dodge Colt GT turbo engine 1.6L DOHC turbo little brother of the 4g63t) and the 11b turbo was seized, so I put a 14b, 440cc injectors, and a 1g DSM ECU in it with a custom jumper harness and it hauled ass. Eventually I got tired of it and put a built 4g63t in it and a 19c Frankenstein turbo on it and it was over the top fast at 16 psi. That car weighed 1800 lbs with the 4g63t in it.
I've owned a Veloster Turbo R-Spec, and traded it in for one of these 2017 Elantra Sports. The ride is better than the overly stiff R-Spec, you can really tell the difference the IRS makes in the Sport vesus the stiff torsion bar in the R-Spec, especially over uneven pavement. I don't think I want to turbo swap, but an ECU tune would be awesome. The Sport is a great car already, but if it had 30 more HP it would be amazing. And it has all it's doors.
One Thirty Eight my main complaint with mine is the power and the wheel not being able to move forward enough (im 6'4 so i have my seat pretty far back)
the only thing i did to my elantra sport was the swaped out the filter for K&N and resonator delete upfront and always run 93 octane love the dam car so much fun on the highway and in corners . makes a great sleeper temped to get a new tuned ecu nothing crazy just think the car could use a about 25-40 more hp
When i got my 2017 elantra sport, the first i did was add performance modifications. It is a great little car but with SXTH intake, ICRD, LAP3 ECU tune and a custom muffler delete it really wakes up the car.

Im honestly considering buying a elantra and giving it a setup somewhat similar to this!
DAMN SON, THAT HUNDAE BE FLYIN', lol, love the way you pronounce the name of the car, dyin' over here 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't think it's a bad looking car overall. A lot of people sleep on cars like this or the ultimate what you can modify pretty much any car you want to modify you can if you know what you're doing. End of the day it's not an ugly car
I reaaalllllllyyyyyyy wish they’d throw a 2.0t in the Elantra!!!
My Ultimate Hyundai Package Lineup:
Elantra- 1.6T, 2.0 4cyl or 2.0T
Sonata- 2.5 4cyl, 2.0T or Hybrid
Tucson- 2.0t, 3.3 v6, 3.8 v6
Santa Fe- 2.0t, 3.8 V6, 5.0 v8
All the other models won’t sell as much lol
love my 17 elantra sport 6 speed ... loves the highway and turns
That thing sounds sick!
I like the new Veloster coming out with the 2 liter but I prefer the looks of the Elantra hatchback way more than the sedan.
If someone wants to know the song is Mr.FijiWiji yours trully
