I remember coming here in the early 2000s with my grand parents. It had a lot more open back than and it’s a shame to see it go. I remember golden eagle comics and fye here.
That is really sad when people who own the mall can't pay the bank back on. I do remember goimg here and going to a store that you can buy clothes for $1.00 to 5.00 and this place is sad now
Today it was announced that all of the indoor stores will be closed by the end of April. It's sad. We have a home video from 1997 when I performed with my dance group there, and one would be in disbelief to know it's the same mall because it was packed at the time. I live very close by and I hope I can get some last video footage before it's gone.
What I meant to say was. I like dead malls and stores. I like your and dan bells videos. There's something about them. I enjoy your work. Keep the videos coming
Oof, just read that the owner says the mall should be demolished in an article released in Feb. '18. (You can find it via Google by searching this malls name.) Sad.
Update 3/09/2017 here from Pittsburgh area "North Hills " Ross Park Mall should be on your list!!! If Sears,Pennies,Macy's close there will only be Nordstrom's left to support the entire mall. A few miles away North way Mall in Ross TWP. now called The Block received a loan from the Ross TWP to finish the total remodel from a indoor mall built in 1963-64 ish. To a outdoor mall ......you would think in our colder climates you would keep indoor malls..............Kay Jewelers is closing 140 stores in malls soon and opening 240 stores outside from malls later this year....Matt
Anthony- you should check out the Chesapeake Square Mall, in Chesapeake, VA. That mall has plenty of neon, at least when I was there, and some great early 90s ambiance.
Rush Waggoner no i dont i use my iphone 6 plus and am just careful on my timing of getting shots when people arent around, it can be a challenge sometme
Spencer Scroggins Yeah, the Chambersburg Mall has very little left and could be worth checking out. There's more than what is seen here but not much. I used to go to this mall as a kid when they would have car shows. I remember it being packed. I was there in 2014 and was shocked to see how empty it was.
YES i second Greenspoint Mall, dat mall is so dead, it's like it's under construction! also Sharpstown Mall (now called PazAmericas) is well still dead but tryin' 2 get back up
Norma Slattery Yeah they could make a day trip out of Houston. Greenspoint, PlazAmerica, Northwest, Plaza Paseo, and San Jacinto. You could even throw in West Hill Mall in Huntsville. I have covered these malls on my blog, but I just take stills with no video footage usually.
love this channel, you guys put togathet some amazing videos... i don't know if you have or ever want to but the next time your traveling the I-81 corridor maybe checkout the Chambersburg Mall. i was in there over the Christmas season and it was pretty dead i think the property can house 75 stores and i counted i think 26 empty spaces also there is a gander mountain on the property and you know there in trouble too. this mall is off exit 20 on I-81 Chambersburg, pa. also the Apple Blossom Mall in Winchester, va is on the dead mall website. i havent personally been in this mall for close to 10 years but travel by it all the time on my way to pick up and deliver fuel to the flying j truck stop. i do know sometime on the past 3-5 years ago thet dod some renovations to the place. but it's off ezit 313 on I-81 in Winchester, va... sorry for such a long message
Randall Lambert I remember hearing about players from the Reading Royals (local hockey team) signing autographs there. I don't think they're doing it anymore, but maybe it could bring up some business.
Ace, when you are in the Houston area for the San Jacinto Mall video check out Northwest Mall too. The interior mall located at 290 and 610 will close March 31st. Lots of retro storefronts to see.
question, what was the approximate time of day when this video was filmed. thanks . also, a reminder, i'm curious what music it is you have in the video from last may, . cheers
When did you take this video? When I took my videos, it was a Saturday afternoon, and it was dead. Also, the Christmas decorations were still up in late January.
If they would build these malls and put in a rent free police or county sheriff sub station they would last much much longer help with the intimation of the bad element chasing the customers away Please dont pretend who or what.
Would you guys ever think about doing a prevlog. Just a vlog of you guys traveling in from where you live to the destination. I think that would add a lot to the great content.
If you ever decide to come back to Reading you should check out the VF Outlet. It has a dead mall underground and its said half of the complex is to be destroyed soon.
Love your Vids! Thanks for sharing. If you ever happen to come up to Massachusetts, you should check out the Berkshire Mall in Lanesborough . I spent a lot of time there when I was a kid in the 90's. Now it's just dead. JCPenney is closing its doors in April. All of the other anchor stores have left in the last decade or so. The food court is just sad. Target and the cinema are there plus a dozen or so of smaller stores. I don't see it lasting that much longer. Hope you can check it out.
Anthony, I like your videos since I was a mall kid and am sad that they are going by the wayside. The "Mall Music" and the vintage commercials you edit into the video put a timeline of success to what they have become are a big part of the story of the subject. But you talk to much....
This is just my opinion, but the talking through is kind of distracting. You can put all that info in the description as many other dead mall/abandoned places channels do. Just my personal taste!
Great video dude! I really like your stuff, keep up the great work!
These videos keep.getting better. Love the way you juxtapose vintage forage with what is happening currently at these malls. Very cool.
I remember coming here in the early 2000s with my grand parents. It had a lot more open back than and it’s a shame to see it go. I remember golden eagle comics and fye here.
Babble as much as you like, it's really nice that you take the time to do research on these places and share it with your viewers!👍
Subscribed! Between you, Mr. Bell, and Retail Archaeology, I think I'll manage to get my Dead Mall Fix.
That is really sad when people who own the mall can't pay the bank back on. I do remember goimg here and going to a store that you can buy clothes for $1.00 to 5.00 and this place is sad now

The recession this year will kill off all the ones like this..
Great Video,lijed
Burlington coat factory. OMG back when it was just a place to buy coats. 💞💞
I love the dead mall series. Keep up the good work.
What I meant to say was. I like dead malls and stores. I like your and dan bells videos. There's something about them. I enjoy your work. Keep the videos coming
I meant to say that I like dead mall videos. I liked the video. Sorry
Oof, just read that the owner says the mall should be demolished in an article released in Feb. '18. (You can find it via Google by searching this malls name.) Sad.
I love the cinema bright colors
Thanks for making and uploading this video. I really like your video series. Always look forward to seeing you upload a new one.
I loved these types of videos
Hello? Is anyone here?
Oh, I am!
Gardener Earth Guy Just the guy bringing down christmas decorations in late January.
The emptiness and echoes reminds me of Owens Mills Mall, remember THAT one?
Very sad! What a Great looking mall! Thanks for another great Dead Mall video.
We live in a country that creates a great amount of waste. All in the name of progress.

Nice vaporwave version of "Should I Say Yes" by Nu Shooz.
I was at this mall about two years ago, and found it really unique. It's a shame it's even more dead then when I was there.
Anthony- you should check out the Chesapeake Square Mall, in Chesapeake, VA. That mall has plenty of neon, at least when I was there, and some great early 90s ambiance.
You didn't have to use a hidden camera did you? What kind of camera do you use? I would love to know as I love dead malls too! :)
Rush Waggoner no i dont i use my iphone 6 plus and am just careful on my timing of getting shots when people arent around, it can be a challenge sometme
Thanks for the tips! It's amazing that a little phone can get such great quality
Have you done Chambersburg Pa Mall. Valley View
Spencer Scroggins Yeah, the Chambersburg Mall has very little left and could be worth checking out. There's more than what is seen here but not much.
I used to go to this mall as a kid when they would have car shows. I remember it being packed. I was there in 2014 and was shocked to see how empty it was.
this mall has even less stores open now. the mall has been bought from what ive heard. it was thought to be going back to the reading race track too
1:12 I could use that music for vaporwave ;)
You've got to do the Greens Pointe Mall in Houston tx it's a Dead Mall
YES i second Greenspoint Mall, dat mall is so dead, it's like it's under construction! also Sharpstown Mall (now called PazAmericas) is well still dead but tryin' 2 get back up

oh wow
a long time ago was a nice mall use to go there. what a shame.
I like how you find out some of where you are visiting. The one employee thing is interesting.

Let in the farmers market, flea marketeers, non-profit groups, ANYTHING to drive traffic to these wasted spaces.
Randall Lambert I remember hearing about players from the Reading Royals (local hockey team) signing autographs there. I don't think they're doing it anymore, but maybe it could bring up some business.
Randall Lambert *Bring Michael Jackson!....Oh no, he is just as dead as he mall.*
Wow how sad this use.to be a nice mall long time ago
another great video doc.
Our mall has the exact same Santa setup and Christmas decorations. I wonder if the same company owns both malls.
Ace, when you are in the Houston area for the San Jacinto Mall video check out Northwest Mall too. The interior mall located at 290 and 610 will close March 31st. Lots of retro storefronts to see.
What's the intro music?
question, what was the approximate time of day when this video was filmed. thanks . also, a reminder, i'm curious what music it is you have in the video from last may, . cheers
When did you take this video? When I took my videos, it was a Saturday afternoon, and it was dead. Also, the Christmas decorations were still up in late January.
What is the song called in the beginning?

Would you guys ever think about doing a prevlog. Just a vlog of you guys traveling in from where you live to the destination. I think that would add a lot to the great content.
Itz OinkeyBoi hey! We actually have thought about doing that, even starting a second channel to do random vlogs
that would be awesome lol
Very nice mall
wow..pretty sad mall
u think dat'z a sad mall, wait till u see Greenspoint Mall in Houston if he ever comes 2 my city tho
If you ever head back to Cleveland you should check out Tower City. It's a dead as a door nail.
What a gorgeous commercial space. I don't get it. Why can't it be used for something else?
So the same stores since i last been there? =P
Can anyone confirm, I saw a comment that the inside of the mall is now closed.
If you ever decide to come back to Reading you should check out the VF Outlet. It has a dead mall underground and its said half of the complex is to be destroyed soon.
I have video footage from this summer and from January that I plan on uploading in the future :)
Love your Vids! Thanks for sharing. If you ever happen to come up to Massachusetts, you should check out the Berkshire Mall in Lanesborough . I spent a lot of time there when I was a kid in the 90's. Wow. Haven't been here in 20 yrs, and it rather looks the same, except it had morre stores then!!
Yeah you should take a trip to Bangor maine to the mall there. and then to Presque isle maine

I have always loved that mall. I wish something could be done.

Truly devastating...

I can iamgine one of the Ames stores is going to be Diamond Point Plaza. Seen a few on that and it is roached out.
MANAGED THE GROUND ROUND RESTERANT IN THE PARKING LOT OF THIS MALL TKS
I find the architecture in this mall interesting. Too bad its dieing.
Right in my backyard!!
Where have all the people gone long time passing... where have all the people gone long time ago?
People don't need to go to the Mall to buy Gift Cards, so I don't think it good news at all....
Go to Forest Fair mall
Keyboard world.... just wow
sucks because it used to do well. Perfect example of gentrification.
I agree i like this history
that is sad :(
Me.
wow, what a dead place.
Anthony, I like your videos since I was a mall kid and am sad that they are going by the wayside. The "Mall Music" and the vintage commercials you edit into the video put a timeline of success to what they have become are a big part of the story of the subject.
But you talk to much....
This mall is still chugging along. If are looking for a stocked bath and body works it’s the best, and you can easily find a seat at the AMC.
You're not Dan Bell
No kidding
This is just my opinion, but the talking through is kind of distracting. You can put all that info in the description as many other dead mall/abandoned places channels do. Just my personal taste!
Keeps promising to stop talking. 9.51 finally stops talking 😐
MsWaggydog if you don't like, Don't watch
