Free or near free activities are key! I feel like there are so many fun events that don’t cost a dime and people need to take advantage more. I used a bunch of different FB groups to find events!
For the life of me, I don’t understand the whole low income thing. In TN, low income is $35,000 for 4 people in a household. I don’t see how that’s possible, when rent for a 1bd can go all the way up to $1k. You’re not left with a lot for food and car expenses. I’m over being an adult 😒. This is why everyone is moving to small towns. The issue with that is gas. I mean I work from home, but that’s not the point 😂
I don't live in an expensive city but live near one. There's a website that I subscribe to that talks about all the free events and I often scan to see what I can do that doesn't require spending.
I live in the Bay Area too, even in SF to receive services you have to make under the federal income level which is under 30K I think, so while SF acknowledges the poverty line-they only provide services if you make 50K under that SF poverty line.
I struggle with friends who want to do expensive things all the time! I live in SF too and it can be tough to avoid those things - Emily I’m curious about your thoughts
I'm just a stay at home mom about 1.5 hrs from the city and this is such an issue. It seems like other moms are always inviting us to do all these expensive things. So I either fork up the money I don't t really have or feel like a cheap ass for saying no.
Do you live in a high cost of living area? What's your best tip to keep costs down?
"Right attitude and right mindset you can make anything happen." 👍👍👍 You can have activities that don't cost a lot. Love spending my free time hiking.
Hiking is awesome, love it!
