Regardless of his intentions being innocent, you cannot ignore the fact that it was unprofessional. It doesn't matter whether he is Black, White, Male or Female.
Why is it that you guys cannot see that there should be boundaries between teacher and student relationships and this was completely unethical and unacceptable. Let him go to a salon and pay them outside of work and not use these young impressionable girls for clout.
You can't defend wrong just because he is a Black man. Wrong is wrong period.

@@choconethotcoco4717 You pointed out the elephant in the room, while I don't feel like he should've been terminated (perhaps a write up) & maybe the entire situation is 100 percent innocent in regards to intentions the reality is that children have feelings, children can also get sexually aroused around their Adult crushes or they can become aroused even when it's nothing inappropriate going on because children especially at those girls ages tend to be very hormonal & it's just too risky for all parties involved in my humble opinion, the school did what it felt was necessary, personally if it was my child (knowing what I know about child crushes that tend to start off innocent & hormonal young people who's brains aren't yet fully developed) I wouldn't want to see him lose his position but I definitely would not want my child playing in no grown man's hair at school!
Edit: I also agree that it would have been better for dude (since he's also a social media influencer) to have written consent from both the students & their parents/guardians prior to recording the students & uploading them on social media

Girls this age also harbor crushes; so, anything can develop. It's called grooming. If the teacher has these close relationships with ALL of his students in the class then WHY WAS ONLY THE GIRLS TAKING DOWN HIS HAIR!!! There is no PROPER boundaries with the teacher but that doesn't mean he needs to be fired. It means he needed to be taught proper boundaries. Most women educators are allowed to repeatedly love on their students with hugs and encouragement or sit in the classroom with any gender w/o having to remember to make sure their classroom door is opened at all times. With women it is NEVER questioned. As male educators we have to avoid all potential "it looks like" because of our reality. I understand that this End of Class Day decision was not the best idea but feel it was innocent. This is just another "it looks like" of course even with all those students present and a camera there right before bus calls. And some people wonder why there aren't enough male educators. Every male teacher is not dangerous. 🍏

What does race have to do with this? Nothing. This could've been anyone. This is not like back in the day before 2000. Teachers are getting caught left and right. The best way to avoid things sometimes is to n0t place y0urself or someone else in a situation that leads to certain things. It's one thing being a nice teacher. It's another thing touching and being touched. These people don't even have kids, so it's easy for them to dismiss this. I wouldn't care if they were the same genders, or at least I think I wouldn't care. I also don't care if some of the parents gave him permission, which I find a little hard to believe if it was something random. Now, I'm not saying he should be fired. However, he should definitely be warned.

Don’t be stupid about you’re going to bring him on the show, for what reason? So he can defend not doing personal errands in his personal time.
No teacher male or female should have students in their hair. Additionally, he wouldn’t ask male students to do this, it’s inappropriate and he needs to do his dirty hair elsewhere. I don’t think he should be fired BUT I don’t want this to become a norm.

I believe there should be set boundaries between teachers and students. But let's be real....the "my child is in school to learn" fake outrage is hysterical. Half these parents you can't get on the phone to discuss academics and behavior unless it's about a cell phone. Nobody's teaching from sun up to sun down. We give the students breaks....especially at the end of the day.

Posting the video was his mistake because you have what we have now and that’s a lot of people from outside of the DC area commenting on this man like he is a pedo. The parents and his current and former students have all come out in support of him being and excellent teacher who is in the community. His kids don’t skip class or school because he reaches them on another level and that’s what this was

It’s sad any of this happen, but it did, and lessons should be taken & learned … Armon just because some students wanted to do it mean’s nothing , their cognitive , decision-making skills aren’t developed yet.

Also, I’m so sick of people bringing up the black guy who got fired who was a MIDDLE SCHOOL teacher… like I swear to God the black community just loves to make everything about race because clearly what that teacher did was inappropriate or he wouldn’t have been fired. It doesn’t matter if he’s “attractive or black” He got fired because of inappropriate behavior with minors and let’s not forget the fact that he was texting his students outside of school. This teacher in this video is a HIGH SCHOOL teacher so the standards are wayyy different also this teacher probably isn’t texting his students outside of school.

He loved his job and obviously the kids love him. It is not inappropriate for a child or a teacher to develop a bond! Actually I think it’s more alarming when kids don’t like their teacher. I did my teachers make up one time at school. I use to go to school and do girls hair and make up what’s the difference? I have seen so many tic tocs and videos where something should have been deemed inappropriate but this just isn’t one! Maybe them girls like doing hair maybe they was doing someone else’s hair and have been asking the teacher to do his? And then to make him resign? That is so extreme!

  • @Ennui83

This has the appearance of impropriety for the reasons that Al Reynolds initially stated. His hair take down should not have happened in the classroom during the school day. Hair is very personal and that should have happened outside of the school. At the very least after the school day was over. No students should have helped him take down his hair. It has nothing to do with grooming or liking the teacher.
Of course this teacher should not have been fired, especially for a first offense. However teachers must demonstrate professional decorum. Taking your hair down at work is inappropriate. That is what he demonstrated for those students, and that is not acceptable.
Armon should be quiet. Cool, young, attractive has nothing to do with having and demonstrating professional boundaries.
Claudia, what does liking this teacher have to do with him having his hair taken down during the school day in a classroom?
    Al . . . don't flip flop.
Now y'all know that if that teacher speaks on this show he will be fired and have a hard time getting another teaching job.

This is not a big deal. Students, whether females or males, were taking out hair, not giving him a massage. This is another situation blown out of proportion. Our society is always looking for trouble. He's obviously a good teacher respected by his students. This is horrible that he got fired.

I feel like a reprimand would have been more appropriate unless this is a repeated thing he was told not to do. A bit inappropriate for sure, and unnecessary to post on social media. I have mixed feelings tho cuz my son's preschool teacher used to braid his hair and I was so grateful because I embarrassingly cant braid. I remember the 1st time she did it and she sheepishly said she hoped I didnt mind and I was like girl thank you!

I teach in the Kindergarten room.... The little white girls are usually fascinated with my braids.... During free time I occasionally allow the the kids (black and white) to "braid" my braids. It's harmless.... N their parents don't have a problem with it. If for whatever reason the district saw issue .... I would hope the appropriate response would simply be to bring me into the office for a stern talking to and at most a write up.... But fired?! For something that causes no harm or potential to anyone, nor takes away from learning time.... It's ridiculous. Not to mention all the other videos of other teachers doing essentially the same thing.

Pay that money and get those braids taken out or have a friend come to your house to do it. I think because he was at school and in the place of authority. Students look to teachers to set an example. If certain things are tolerated they could imitate what they see. It's about having respect for the position which in this case is the teacher's position in the classroom.

The cohosts need to recognize that grooming is occurring whether the teacher knows it or not. Not just hsir grooming. Boundaries need to be exercised for a reason. Its problematic that you all and many of the parents don't seem to be aware. They were probably single parents. Also, students are not personal servsnts. Just dumb that this teacher is unaware.

I grew up with old school teachers in my school in Connecticut and it made me drop out because it felt like I had no one at home to talk to, and no one at school.
