Personally, I think that once you fall in love with pen on paper, there is no turning back! There is something magical about it...and although digital is more efficient and maybe prettier...it is just not the same! I have tried to go digital a few times and although I was using my digi planner...I just felt that something was missing! I use several notebooks at once as well... The way I see it is that when I struggle to keep up and/or I start skipping steps, it is an indication that this system is not working for me. At that point, I downsize. I really enjoyed this video! Thank you , Jessica!xx
I bought a couple of planners/calendars this year and kept up with them for about five months and then it was just like... why?? But that's good. Now I know I'm done buying planners. That said, my latest thing is starting a joy journal where every day or two scrapbook things that made me smile in that time from pics or tweets or excursions. We'll see how long that lasts. 😂
Your joy journal sounds fantastic Rachel! That's such a lovely idea. And I think with practices they do come and go as we need them, and then things change (including us) and then we don't need quite the same things anymore 💞
@@JessicaandtheMoon i cant get over how much you journal, im blown away. its so amazing all your ideas ! im bee obsessed crafting this month , found your bee magic vid too. lol its wonderful ! your so creative
I love seeing others journals stacks. I remember your beginning video to now. Of course I’d love to see your art journaling process or even just a flip through. I also have a planner / journaling stack. It’s funny how at the beginning of year I also didn’t feel like bullet journaling but now I’m finding myself leaning into it. Must be all the fiery summer energy.
Planner people…love us or leave us 📚🤷♀️ 💕 Definitely not too many IMHO because you use them & they have different functions. My rule of thumb is as long as I’m not overwhelmed by my different planners and journals, then it’s the right amount but if I start feeling like it’s a chore rather than helpful or therapeutic, then maybe it’s time to revisit. I will be really interested to see your Notion video. I am a paper person but fell in love with Notion & was convinced it was the answer to everything but… I fell out of love after awhile. I still find it useful for some types of things, but definitely not for everything. I would love to hear another paper person’s take on it. I would also love to see your Art journaling 😊
Thanks for sharing! I would love to see how you set up an art journal. Art is something I definitely want to get back into at some point so it would be good to have a journal for that and the one I have now for it is from a former class I took years ago, which I'll likely finish out before starting another one. Remember me mentioning I was going to try to trim down my stack? Well, its not happening. I was finding that I actually need the boundary of the different notebooks for the different things to help me stay focused and intentional. Looking forward to the Notion video, I dabble with Notion a bit, but its just not practical for me currently.
That's interesting about the different planners keeping things focused for you Carole. Separate sacred spaces for each "work" or practice, it does make sense in a lot of ways. And you did have very defined purposes for them all
Oh i am so behind with my journals i just don't seem to have time at the moment, but have decided to make more of an effort, i always make notes in one book and they get stuck there , just not enough hours in the day lol, but loved the video and the incentive to restart thank you😊
Thanks Thea 💗 I find when things get like that then setting up some pretty pages in the notebook I'm actually using beforehand, can feel really nice - and takes the pressure off.
What journals, that are blank with thick paper do you recommend? I’d like to paint in mine, you’ve inspired me to try one! I’m a notebook keeper and I want to expand :)
I'd go for one that is meant as a mixed-media sketchbook as they tend to hold most things. Unless you're planning on just using watercolour, in which case get paper meant for that. I'm out of the loop with the best journals for this kind of thing as I haven't been art journaling for a while, but I'm already getting back into it!
I also have stacks of journals. Maybe it's "too much" but if I'm happy and they're getting used, I am ok with it. I would love to see some of your art journaling, if you're up for sharing!
Loved seeing your planner update! Junk Journals are fun, aren't they? That's what my YT channel is about. On a different note, I was wondering is there a way to find your Rising sign without the time if your birth. II can't get the time I was born. I tried a few quick charts guessing the time and none seem accurate. xx
Ah cool, I will check that out 💞 I'm definitely feeling the pull of the junk journal/ altered books/ art journaling. If you don't know your time of birth then some astrologers offer rectification, which is a way of figuring it out based on life events. It's a pretty specialist technique, as you discovered, it's not easy to just guess it from playing around - though that does work sometimes. Chris Brennan and Patrick Watson are both experienced in rectification, and have a course about it, but it's not cheap.
@@JunkJournalTreasures yes, it makes it hard to deep dive into it without feeling sure about the ascendant. Lots of things are still the same though, like the positions of the planets in the signs, and their relationship to each other. And most likely your moon sign is unaffected (but could be if you’re on the cusp).
@@JunkJournalTreasures so moon was in Sagittarius all day that day, so your moon sign is sorted 👌🏻 sun, mercury, Venus and Mars all in Aries - an Aries stellium! You were also born a few days after a lunar eclipse and your sun is conjunct the north node. That’s a LOT of fiery energy! The remaining planets are all in air or fire signs too. Hopefully your ascendant is an earth or water sign to calm things down a bit 😆 or if you fully identify with that full on fire, then perhaps it’s also a fire sign.
Oh my gosh I would love to see magical junk journal content from you! Your bullet journaling style is so great already I bet your junk journal art witchery is going to be even more amazing 😍 I hope you get all the time and space you need to explore the calling 🖌✂️✨️
What…too many planners? Definitely not 😂😂 Like washi, you definitely can’t have too many. 😂 Love your idea of creating an art journal around your word of the year. Would love to see art journaling videos. Just don’t ask me how many art journals, junk journals and altered books I have on the go 😂😂😂
Haha, now I want to know how many it is :D I think with art journals and sketchbooks it's perfectly acceptable to have them simmering away alongside other things. Much as I'd like to do stuff like that most days I don't find I have the time 😝

It’s called Delilah, from a company called Earthborn. It’s such a lovely colour ☺️ not quite red, not quite pink. But very cheerful ✨
