Good video,,I like talking through a project for guidance but this is pretty much explanatory. Thank you for not blasting loud music between loud power tool sounds. I usually have to keep my finger on the volume button with some videos like a trigger.
Just come across your channel - lovely bench upcycle. I have a bedframe in my garage and this is my next project. You inspired me and gave me the confidence to think I can do this so thank you.
Great project. I’ve wanted to do this for a while. Time to keep my eye out for one. I am curious… when attaching the round cut ends… did you use multiple screws? Seems a little tricky to get in there. Is it pretty sturdy? Found your channel the other day. Fell after walking my dog today and I’m taking it easy today. So I’m about to binge watch several of your videos and blow up your comments section. Lol
We're glad you found us! :) I believe you're probably referring to the pieces that turn into the arm rests? - I wasn't real happy with where the arm piece matched up with the upright post, but cutting it down to align with the square part would have thrown other things off measurement so I decided to leave it where it was. Basically I just drilled a pilot hole from behind to prevent any cracking, matched up the cut end of the arm rest, glued both parts and put a 3" screw in from behind. You can fill in the screw hole with putty afterward as well to make it a little cleaner. As far as being sturdy - yes! This one actually turned out very solid because of the frame and oak I used for the seat. You might find that another style of bed may not be quite as level or solid, so you may need a little extra shoring up. Just make sure you are working on an even surface and use a level to make sure it comes out nice and sturdy without any rocking.
The “box” is interesting. Definitely contribute to stability
Turned out good

Love it. What kind of paint did you use?
Thanks! It's Fusion Mineral Paint. If you check out their website.... you can find a stockist near you. It's an awesome paint brand!
