I've been waiting for this video. Over the years many of my Jags had sluggish wondow control. I have 2 XJ6s now in need back in Michigan and can't wait to fix them when I go back.
Tell me if you need any parts from inside the doors! Years ago, I disassembled a series 3 XJ12 and salvaged the suspension. I also set the doors aside. Though I have no use for them, I know there are salvageable parts inside them. If you can use anything, I'd be pleased to contribute parts to keep your car on the road! I have all the glass as well. Everything is in Colorado.
I love your step-by-step diagnosis process so you really hone in on the problem without wasted effort and overreacting. Nicely done
Hi Adam. Patience is the virtue ......again ! I dare say that motor sounded much quieter with the trim refitted . Thanks Adam
Hi Adam, this is so much educational than just replacing parts!
I’m glad you like it!

If you had to lubricate the window channels, what would you use?
Silicone spray or grease works really well you just need to be careful with it
Silicon or WD40
Is the mechanism just as accessible in an XJS? I'm having trouble with a passenger side window that won't budge
Yes and it’s even easier on an XJS.
I have issues with my S3, my driver door was leaking so I ordered a door seal from barrat. But now it’s a misery to reinstall the new one 😢😢😢
They are a pain to fit
