I dont take ibn uthaymeen as a reliable source in any field. He rejects ijma by rejecting the 4 schools and deems everyone a mubtadi and mushrik. Imam ibn abidin deemed ibn abdul wahab a khawaij and we should affirm this. I dont say to do takfir of salafis but we should engage in peaceful talks with them without compromising on the views of the ahlus sunnah.

Just because he doesn't ignorantly follow your sheikh or call on others for help, then he is not reliable according to you people

@@TalkingTalking-zg3gn My sheikh? Call others for help? Pretty sure he calls the dcotor for help when he gets sick.
Istigatha isnt a mandatory belief. No one would deem someone out of ahlus sunnah for rejecting istigatha. Salafis are khawarij ie they are extreme literalist and deem everyone misguided even the likes of ibn hajar (rh) and Imam ghazali (rh).
Would recommend you to study the books of the earlier scholars yourself instead of relying upon modern day scholars. Its clear who were the majority and who were invented in 1800s.

@@KASHMIRI_TERRORIST it’s a form of tawassul that is accepted within Sunni Theology because both the sentence structure of tawassul and istighatha is to ask Allah and Allah alone.

@MakingSenseofIslam Thank you for your answer.....The contrast between Salafis and Sufis is unreal. They say it's worse than the kufr of Abu Jahil, and you people say it's accepted..... Subhanallah, I don't know how i can find balance between these two positions

I believe there are some errors in your video Dr. Tarek
Shaykh al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I do not know of anyone who regards the Ash‘aris as kaafirs.

I fully agree. I don't fully understand all the fuss about it online. I wonder what exactly sparked it. Is it because he mentioned shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymin rahimahullah made (indirectly) takfir of the Azhariyyin or is it because Ibn 'Uthaymin is not a reference academically (for an Azhari)? I find the responses to his stance a bit childish. If it is the other way around, which happens many times,
there is not so much fuss, if at all.

Where does Ibn Uthaymeen make takfir of Ash'aris? There are videos online where he claims that they are from Ahl al-Sunnah in what they agree upon and not from Ahl al-Sunnah in what they differ.
Had they been non-Muslims, then the entire question and answer would have been framed differently.

Completely false and supporting falsehood. Ibn Uthaymeen was one of the more lenient Salafi scholars when it came to the Asharis and Maturidis. No one supporting this has brought any evidence that ibn Uthaymeen made Takfir of the Ashaairah and nothing could be further from the truth.
