      Get with the programmers, this collision triggers for picking up consumables are not looking good. Walking back and forth to get the prompt to trigger a pickup means they need to expand the radius or fix the logic behind it.

    The concept of switching between the characters on the fly for combos is fairly interesting. Haven’t tried a soulslike since the first souls kicked my ass and stole my lunch money tho.

      there's the upcoming Genokids that has that method. It's more like a Character Action/Hack-and-Slash kind of game than Soulslike.
      It's about a rock band whose big gig gets crashed by an alien empire deciding to invade and now the guitarist Blue (guitar with laserblade), drummer Red (two drums that become rocket-powered gauntlets), synthesist(?) Green (little flying drones that shoot projectiles) and Bassist(?) Yellow (bass(?) becomes a giant hammer) have to get the band back together.
      And from there you can swap between characters mid-combo on the fly, each with their own "magic" abilities and Special Form.

    reminds me of Mortal Shell, interesting concept with on the fly switching, but looks very rough

    These games are multiplying like rabbits since Elden Ring. I'm still waiting on something to adequately replace Skyrim.

      You and I will be waiting a long long time for that. It's easier to create a Souls clone than to create another Skyrim. There's just so much that goes into an Elder Scrolls games, They have more complicated physics. They have at least twice the assets, nearly all of which can be interacted with in some capacity. They have a camera that has to work in first and third person and animations to go along with. And they have huge narratives filled with hundreds of branching dialog paths. These gameplay aspects are merely the tip of the iceberg. You could legitimately do a thesis on Elder Scrolls game design.

    So on one hand this is a combo-focused soulslike game, which is really hard to design. I don't expect a good result tbh but I'll give the devs best wishes.
    On the other, do they actually visualize the stagger bar? This is HUGE progress!

    Even though there's kind of a "hero," fatigue going on in, I kind of like the idea of hero based souls like game. But it can only work if you have tangible gameplay progressions on those heroes, or if you go the Genshin Route of introducing new heros as you play.
    It could work because of how these games try to tie lore and storytelling into the environment and gameplay, playing as fallen heroes and unlocking them through environmental stories or boss fights.

    Look like a Remnant from the ashes type environment and aesthetic. But I am all for these type of games and always willing to give them a chance.

      It's very easy to judge this from our perspective but this is literally his full time job, besides, he seems to enjoy it a lot

      I only get about 1-2 hours a night after work so 1 game can take me weeks 😅

    Interesting concept with the character swap. Though how easy would it be to switch out them for a new one. If they have enough variety in playstyles and enemy types you can equip, I see that being very entertaining to play

    Cool idea, I really hope that isn't the final skill tree... er... Bush I guess. Those types are always a confusing, annoying mess. But that is just a nitpick the gimmick seems good.

    I won't write the game off for this but, the idea of losing stamina along with health is off-putting. Adding additional punishments to failure doesn't sound like additional fun.

      Came here to say this. These games already encourage you take little to no damage, and if you do give limited but fair tools to regain it. With non-menu related actions limited to health, how much can the player do without generous healing?
      Conversely, the idea of each loadout having their own healthbar meaning up to four healthbars in reserve, despite the player dies if the active one reaches 0, may require healing to be limited and/or scarce, else it'd be easy to clutch save yourself by swapping.
      EDIT: The game's Estus analogue heals the active loadout but damages inactive ones, and damaging enemies heals inactive loadouts. It seems a *really* messy solution, but for now its best to see if it actually does work for the game.
