What you need to know is that we smashed the Championship with a storm. We bought all those players in the summer and didn't play the same squad as the one that got us promoted. We lost Maatesen, Tella, VK didn't fancy Zaroury and Benson. So, massive change and the new players we bought took a while to get going. Let's not even talk about VKs stubbornness to change our GK to the one who got best in Championship. Weirdly we started to play better! Little too late and I think this opportunity has come too fast and although It's Bayern and it's hard to turn down. It still feels a little sour as we stood by him all the way and it was only the day before he's pretty much announced as Bayern coach, he was talking about his future goals with Burnley . Ah well, cash in the compensation, draw a line and get a decent manager. We should hopefully be able to attract a decent manager with the squad and financial power we have.

Football has become all about the buzz, if you're young and present well on TV you get the job

So firstly it's important to remember that Burnley were easily relegated in a season with points deductions to other teams, secondly his credentials are for getting a Year 1 parachute payment team promoted. He has no past connection to Bayern or their fans. Bayern are a colossus club with incredibly fraught & fragile politics between the board, ex players, the fans & players. They have been slowly imploding under their own weight for several years. As Bayern Coach you are expected to win the Bundesliga, win the Pokal & compete to a high level in the Champions league. This isn't a young squad of players you admirer the ex City Player, this is a team of egos, superstars & aging legend. I think it is a crazy appointment

Either a genius move or a disaster

I think this has more to do with his reputation as a pep deciple and Bayern being so desperate to have pep back, he also doesn’t come with a ton of managerial experience or backing so he’ll be easy for the powers that be to keep on the rails of what they want. Bayern is in a really bad spot right now

It sounds a bit "Roy of the Rovers"; leaving a club that got relegated to become manager of one of the biggest clubs in Europe. What intrigues me is why so many managers/head coaches have turned down Bayern Munich.

Let’s not forget Eddie Howe got Bournemouth relegated and doing brilliant with Newcastle.
It kind of makes sense when you think about it. His style is far suited to Bayern players than Burnley.

Howes job at Bournemouth was more successful than kompany at Burnley and Newcastle aren't as big of a club as Bayern. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Whether Kompany was the primary reason that Burnley destroyed the Championship in 22/23 is much more of a concern for Bayern than for Burnley. If he goes there, Bayern will believe he absolutely was, and pay Burnley accordingly. Burnley would then have a budget that would allow any half decent manager to get them up again. And if he wasn't, then Bayern will look very silly, but Burnley will have that budget as well as a squad that did it with Kompany not being the main reason for their success.

This has to be one of the most baffling managerial appointments ever. You have got to wonder why so many managers have rejected Bayern before going in for Kompany.

    • @Dooood89
      @Dooood89 Месяц назад

      So many?
Xabi Alonso rejected which is reasonable
Nagelsmann is national Team Coach Like Rangnick and both Said its Impossible to do both Jobs at the Same time. They are Not able to do a rebuild for the Club and manage the national Team
These were the Names who rejected Bayern, so calling it "so many Managers rejected them" is a straight up lie just to Shit on Bayern

It’s frustrating as a Burnley fan because we could’ve sacked him in February and damaged his reputation but we stuck with him hoping he would stick with us however when it comes to Burnley or Bayern you can’t blame him for leaving. I think he is still a very good manager despite last season and I think he’ll do a decent job at Bayern as he’s got the tools he needs to play his system

    • @roscoeevans8139

He will probably need time at Bayern though as in both his seasons and Burnley he hasn’t started that well and that could be a potential problem for him

I love how everyone underestimate him xD But if he delivers everyone will be like "Ohh i love him, he is a great coach etc etc etc". Come on guys. Bayern just risked it for the biscuit you know. MASSIVE RISK taken by the FC Bayern board. I hope Kompany will deliver(Just to prove the doubters wrong). Lets see what he can cook... Remember, this time he got 100 times better players than in Burnley. Lets see. Iam hyped. Really hyped now. Cant wait to watch FC Bayern games, just because of curiousity. Can they get back the title from Xabi's Leverkusen? Can FC Bayern win the 2025 Champions League title at HOME(The final will be played in Allianz Arena). Or it will be a HUGE disaster and FC Bayern will finish below the top 5 in the Bundesliga? Lets see.. Iam hyped!

It's baffling honestly, can't blame him for going because at the end of the day it's the biggest club in Germany, does feel like all of our collective loyalties from the fans to the board have been for nothing though.

    1:30
Sunderland (105 pts, 1998/99), Fulham (101 pts, 2000/01), Reading (106 pts, 2005/06), Newcastle United (102 pts, 2009/10), Leicester City (102 pts, 2013/14). Before Burnley, these were the teams that went up to the Premier League and did not go straight back down in the 1st season. Of those teams, Reading only stayed in the EPL the shortest with 2 seasons (8th in the season 2006/07 but then 18th in the season 2007/08), Sunderland with 4, Fulham with 13, Newcastle United with 6, and Leicester City with 10.
Note: Those teams I mention were in a 24-team division of not just in the Championship, but in the old name Division 1 at the time.

There is no room for failure and the only person who did not believe in the long-term project was Kompany, file under had our pants down.

i dont know if it’s because I’m a biased blackburn fan and don’t like kompany, i don’t get it, yes fair enough in the championship they had a great season and pissed the league, but now losing 24 games in the prem and getting relegated with a game spare to then going to a huge European club just doesn’t make sense to me. dont blame him if he goes tho

I can't understand this one at all. Respect to Kompany for an amazing season in championship, but even if they'd stayed up this season - Bayern Munich??
Comfortably one of the biggest clubs in the world, also in a place where they're under more pressure to deliver after not winning anything this year.
    Just bizarre
