As I see (I'm from Latvia, in short - post-soviet land) Post-punk was one of the most influental genre and almost lifestyle among youngsters in 80s Soviet land. I enjoy finding out about experimental scene of USSR and modern Russia, it's huge and very interesting, though, you have to dive deep into all this stuff.
