- Rafal became an instant start when October 21 2005 he was the sole recipient of all five top prizes at the 15th International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, namely First Prize and polonaise, mazurka, sonata and concerto prizes.
Here is the first encore from his recital on 27 Jan, 2008 at Paris's Theatre du Chatelet. -
Brawo Rafał Blechacz. Genialny pianista i wielki mistrz.
Blechacz is a living God. Chopin's reincarnation !
Amazing! I love this waltz. And Rafal is my favorite pianist
Yay! I always enjoy how he plays.
Muzyka Chopina i Pańskie interpretacje wzruszają mnie do łez i wyzwalają uczucia tak głębokie i piękne że brak mi słów by to opisać słowami.
Most interesting pianist of our days. And, yes, one must play with agogics in order to perform this music in the correct style. Bravo, Rafal!!!
HE IS A GOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!
amazing ... incredibly perfect plays !
! Bravo !!!! Great Sensibility !!!!
His rubato is awesome
he play so romantic..wonderfool..:)
love.
i think when one speaks of the 'polishness', it is not necessarily depriving chopin of his french part. but the fact that he grew up in taht environment, passed his formative years there, heard and lived in that culture, of course affected his musical senses and view of the world.
wonderful enjoyable execution! (so rare when it comes to this waltz, in my opinion)
Bravo!
@sweetnessglyc
hehe...well lets leave god out of this.
altough i have to tell you, that is one of the perks of living in paris, is that you get to see stuff like this at least 2 or 3 times a year. This time was particularly special. it ws Rafals FIRST concert in paris, he did the 24 preludes, and it truly was something i've not experienced too often.
hi is the polish!!!
Dziękuję
anyone heard the messup at 3:11 ? just the one flaw i noticed... other than that, the tempo control is one of the best i've heard yet... rafal rocks..
@yenhoho
it was during an encore at the end.
@loopysuperstring he played the whole 24 preludes?and you were there?OK now I'm jealous.
good playing..
but...is it ok to film during the performance ?
which one is this? This is my favorite of his Waltz.
@dblueroom opus 64 number 2..
was he the recipient of the ballade award? are there any videos of him playing ballades? I'm curious.
@pmsmorga
no one plays anything like anyone else - everyone plays just like themselves //DOT//!!
You should really mention the opus and the number of the waltz in the title.
why did´nt you write Waltz 64.2 in the title? Everyone looking for that specific waltz would then get your video indicated.
I don´t understand why people so often miss either the correct title or leave out the year of playing in the following (which you didn´t).
come to scotland!
@milena577 No jasne , proponujecz disko-polo? ;-))
you re right. He wont become a second rosenthal, rubinstein or horowitz.
well its a very subjective thing. its a question of interpretation. A lot of people like Argerich, or Pollini, but that doesnt mean its 'the best'. at the level of technique all these guys are on an even par, at least for chopin, so it boils down to your taste and opinion on their interpretation
cuz u dont either have polish blood as he did
To maxi937: BillyTheKid is totally right,his rubato are artistic.and the fact that u can play better than BTK (if at all) wouldnt make ur comment valid, sounds pretty childish indeed
This talk about polishness is stupid. Chopin's father was French. Chopin left Poland at the age of 20 and died at 39. Moat of his writings are in French. He became a French citizen. Just because he is Polish by birth does not mean that only Polish people can understand and play this music.
