Hello I'm new to the trade and learning from the very basics. I'm reading this carpentry textbook and the next section talked about scaffolding, but here is where I got confused and it's making me so frustrated ..It says "they are erected in sections that consist of two end frames and two cross braces(this section is about metal scaffolding) and typically come in 5X7 modules. That's where I got confused....What does it mean by 5X7 modules....that's tripping me off. Care to help? Would greatly appreciate it.
Hi David It sounds like they are talking about a Unit Frame scaffold, not the type that is in this video. A bit like this one www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fimages.homedepot-static.com%2FproductImages%2F6f5ed906-cdde-459c-998d-1a1f59f626fd%2Fsvn%2Fmetaltech-scaffolding-kits-m-mfs606084-a-64_1000.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.homedepot.com%2Fp%2FMetalTech-Saferstack-5-ft-x-5-ft-x-7-ft-Scaffold-Set-M-MFS606084-A%2F203504573&docid=K6dDCBqki534lM&tbnid=GNQk2hYF-l_RVM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwj6vKbvzo7dAhXHAYgKHZbTCE8QMwhPKBMwEw..i&w=1000&h=1000&bih=1063&biw=1920&q=Unit%20Frame%20scaffold&ved=0ahUKEwj6vKbvzo7dAhXHAYgKHZbTCE8QMwhPKBMwEw&iact=mrc&uact=8
@@Buildsum Yes it's that, but I don't understand the 7X5 modules.. is it giving me the dimensions or that it comes in 7:5 sets of each ratio? Anyways thanks so much for replying!
Hi David, I think they may be referring to the Unit frames being 5 feet wide and 7 feet high otherwise it would have to be the size of the bay being 5 foot wide and 7 feet long.
Hi Mate, I have never put it in, the planks will still be held in by the standards. Codes says you only need leadgers at the working deacks and every lift so not sure if it is a requirement.
Awesome video kinda gave me a idea of how all components worked. Now just have to remember each part! Lol
The drawing seems very real. It can show our scaffolding in an excellent way.I want to learn. Very.
Great video mate I’m just a first year apprentice starting in a few days tryna impress my boss
