started as Ned Stark, got trial by combat Reed against Selmy, got released, started faction to support Stannis for the throne, forged alliances with Tully and Arryn, married Robb with Margaery Tyrell, got alliance with Tyrell, in the meantime joined all possible meles in the north and won, got to be known as the warrior, Joffrey came of age and became known as the butcher (no surprise!) and then finally decided it's time to support my claim and start the war, met the coalition army of the Lannisters in Moat Cailin and I dueled Ser Gregor the Mountain on the field and I lost, I yielded but he decided it's time to end my life, I lost the fight afterwards and the war went to shit and I ended up surrendering, my new Lord of the North Robb was imprisoned and ofc that little shit decided to execute me ... and that's how my Stark campaing went
i recommend a custom start date for robb, which is the literal day after Ned's death. you arent constrained by events and when you finally declare your independence war, you might be the only one rebelling but you can recruit a ton of allies and a strong faction, resulting in an easy win. ever thought Robb should have married Margaery? well you could snap her up long before Joff ever does. ever thought that Balon should have joined Robb? you can ensure he does by wedding Theon to Sansa.
@@godemperorofmankind3.091 Yeah, using the Clash of Kings bookmark for Robb is way too easy. You just March to King's Landing and take the City before year's end. The Tyrells take way too long marshalling their troops, and start fighting Stannis anyway, so you usually have little resistance (unless Stannis decides to attack you too)
@@mike.n.n.7723 then i would set myself a different goal as Robb. to roll back to the date i mentioned and put Stannis on the throne as his loyal vassal. that is way harder as everyone will hate the new Baratheon line.
@@godemperorofmankind3.091well in terms of canon, Margaery would have already been married to Renly at that point. And if you start at or before the ACOK bookmark if you start as Balon there’s an event choice to join Robb
Glad to see my Forrester boys get some love! A fun run I have done was the isle of Naath. You can colonize the nearby isles and do a completely peaceful run-through. I made it my goal to be completely peaceful until taming a dragon. Took forever, but was so fun!!
I love playing as a custom ruler in Dyre Den before the conquest, you're an independent county with the immediate potential to create a duchy and kingdom of your own (the claw). Sometimes I do this during the CoB as a Valyrian who fled to Westeros and established his base there, but it's getting a bit overdone, so thanks for the suggestions! I need to try Braavos and Mance, definitely. Jon Snow during AFFC is also cool but it's a bit of a gamble regarding how Stannis' war goes.
Raise castle black levies before stannis event pops up gives you another 2000 troops plus event spawned troops always follow stannis loosely until you are near Roose boltens big army attack as then the ai stannis will always follow into battle after which most of the time leads to a victory and then besiege the dreadfort and then winterfell execute all Bolton unless your playing a strict role play in which you then only kill Roose and Ramsey and the youngest bolten keep them under house arrest and make them your ward then you can hopefully give them no traits that influence intrigue
I always love playing littlefinger in the the final scenario. He can grow so quick if you can make enough money, and eventually you can overthrow pretty much anyone.
This was an amazing video. Clear, quality stuff, and those scenarios are actually fun. My personal favourite is starting as Ned Stark exactly ONE DAY before he was executed (and thus the last day of his life). Immediately take a loan of gold from Iron Bank, and present it as ransom to Joffrey which he will usually agree to. As soon as free, hook up Robb with Margaery, Jon with Daenerys (though inviting her to Westeros usually results in her arrest), Bran with Meera Reed, Sansa to Petyr Baelish (because alliance) and Arya to Sir Gendry the Bull. After this initial setup, I form a faction for Stannis, strengthen ties with Riverlands and wait for Tywin to die. Then the hell is unleashed on Cersei's arse. When Stannis dies, I put Daenerys on the throne.
yeah thats a good one. or how about exactly one day after Ned's father dies which is the earliest that Ned takes over as Lord? if you declare war on the throne for pretty much any reason, literally every LP joins in as Aerys is that hated
Also, with regards to (1), I'm surprised Cersei and Joffrey would let Ned choose trial by combat in the first place. Heck, they didn't even give him any proper trial at all, even by Westerosi laws.
I loveeee playing in the Dornish marches in any time period. Playing as House Yronwood or House Dondarrion are my favorites. Blackhaven is a good fortress with sea access, and if you play your cards right you should be able to form the High Lordship of the Dornish marches relatively quickly. Once that’s done, you can ally with the reach and conquer the Stone way!
Rheagar in Robert Rebellion is fun. Daenerys in ACOK because she has many story events and choice of either going to Westeros OR making the Empire of New Valyria in Slavers Bay. Berric and Brotherhood in FFC altough its nigh impossible to do. And of course my personal favourite - some custom shmuck in a far off corner of the world with one holding and forging Empire spanning both of the continents.
Rhaegar before he marries Elia is funner. ever thought Viserys should have turned out badass, and Rhaegar should marry Lyanna straight up? you can ensure he does. not to mention if you declare a war for the throne, pretty much every LP joins you besides maybe Dorne. so you don't die immediately as Beric, i recommend giving him some land. doesnt need to be anything fancy. just a random shitty keep so that you can fight the throne to a white peace, sue for peace and continue on playing.
Great video! It would be nice to see some other characters to play as, preferably lesser known people that could have had a large impact in Westeros. Roger Reyne for example!
I've actually just started playing a couple of weeks ago. I've done some playthroughs as both Ned and Robb Stark, and I'm currently attempting to take the Westerlands from the Lannister's as Roger Rayne.
SolidKeevo That’s awesome! The Reyne’s are a great house to start working up in Westeros! I’d recommend trying Young Griff or Dany, but if you’re looking for the obscure, you can always try House Blackwood in the Trident. They are Old Gods faith surrounded by FotS, and they have a blood feud with House Bracken.
