But Seiya fell in love with Usagi for who she truly was not knowing anything of her past. Tha's true love there.
Before they knew their future, he still loved her very much. In episode 34, he didn't know she was Sailor Moon but begged Zoisite for her safety and when he finally knew she was Sailor Moon, he saved her from Zoisite. In Doom Tree Arc, althrough he lost all of his memories, something deeply in his heart alwayd wanted to protect her that it created a "person" that came and rescue her everytime. He also didn't feel annoying that she was hanging around him. When he was a babysitter (along with Usagi :3) Natsumi came and tried to help but angrily left his house later on, he didn't stop but he held Usagi back when she left :3 he even risked his life to protect her from Fiore. The anime producer just hated him but in manga, he was awesome.
just because he wanted to protect her doesnt mean he loved her that way romanticly you forgot that he was pretty much dating REI at the time at season 1, the anime producer didnt hate Mamoru neither did the director, the director just disliked ''canon relationships'' because he felt there was a lack of tension between the characters then, and moved on to work on Utena

ALL THE LOVE BETWEEN SEIYA AND USAGII IS SO REAL AND AHHH FORGET TUXEDO MASK OR WHATEVERRRR I have only seen 3 Seiya videos and I am in love
Queen Serenity wished for all of them to be reborn on earth to live normal lives. Clearly, Usagi & Mamoru fell in love before they found out about their past lives, whether in the anime or manga. Even the inner & outer senshi truly love Usagi and they do believe that they should protect her, so please don't make that also something fake. I love Seiya & Usagi together but there's no need to attack her relationship with Mamoru. Who knows, in an alternate world, Usagi & Seiya could be together. :)
Mamoru and Usagi did not fall in love with one another before finding out their past lives, ( at least not in this anime adaption) that only happens in the manga and Sailor Moon Crystal, in this anime adaption Mamoru was even daiting Rei at the time and Usagi and Mamoru were very agnostic to each other.
@blackkat1986 Destiny is a saint rule for nobody. Everyone can change his/her future, no matter how much the world is against it. That is one of major morals of the Sailor Moon mythos itself.
If we think realisticly, eventually Usagi's marriage with Mamoru will get boring, and she will have to become fed up with the fact that she's useless to sociaty without the power of the Moon Kingdom. My guess is that Seiya will become permanently a man, visit Usagi on Earth after 5-6 years, and as he helps Usagi to find a new direction for her life, she will slowly fall in love with him. This is my solid theory.
I agree 100%. I envision Mamoru falling in love with a fellow student while he's in medical school and breaking up with Usagi because she's too dependent on him and their personalities clash. After Planet Kinmoku is rebuilt, I totally see Seiya coming back to Earth to live as a man, starting a career as a solo artist, and reconnecting with Usagi :)

Many people defend the feelings between Usagi and Seiya here. I just want to say my opinion. Usagi is not trying to fight back her feelings towards Seiya. These feelings are there. The point is not that she does or doesn't have feelings for Seiya is that she loves more Mamoru than him. That s it. It is true, the love between Usagi and Mamoru is eternal, and so maybe a little boring. Seiya is the 'new fascinating boy' and it s normal that all are curious about him. Even Usagi who is just a high school girl (so young afterall!). The production was very smart to exclude Mamoru and Chibiusa here. Do you think that if Mamoru had been there, the same situation would have ever been possibile to happen? If Seiya is the only true love (as many comments claim) of Usagi something would have happened anyway. Instead, in the last episode Usagi has a totally different behaviour with Seiya, like "ok now I dont need you anymore many thanks for your company goodbye...I even forgot that just yesterday I had some true feelings for you" 😂 (I felt something like that in the last scene of season 5). This because the love of her life was there. She wasn't anymore scared, vulnerable, alone, sad... She was happy again (and dont say she was happy without Mamoru because she painfully missed him since the first episode). So, yes, she has feelings for Seiya but they arent enough to forget or replace an eternal love. In addition, in the manga Seiya is a woman not a man. In the anime the production wanted to make a sort of triangle to draw more spectators. Dont get me wrong the situation between Usagi and Seiya is nice but I think there is one only eternal lovely couple (even if boring sometimes 😊).
Now let's be honest here, the last episode made a straight cut and was very inconsistent. They destroyed something that was carefully built up within seconds. Apart from that: Usagi is a loyal person and yet I'm pretty sure she felt love for Seiya. With Mamoru being back she might have felt less insecure, yes, but the fact that she asked Mamoru whether he loved her and how much he loved her at the very end of the episode, shows to me that she wanted to be sure that Mamoru can love her in ways Seiya showed her. Unlike the manga the 90s anime never gave us a timeskip or wedding scene - which is weird as this was always Usagi's big dream. Since the 90s anime and the manga are very different from each other, I still see the ending of the 90s anime as open end. We can't say for sure if Usagi won't start comparing Mamoru with Seiya after this and maybe realize that she wants more than what Mamoru can offer. Ps. Yes, I prefer Seiya with Usagi, so I'm sticking to hope 🤣

In the Manga they were biologically women (Sailor Stars) even without Transformation but they used to hide that. Toei animation decided to change that, The mangaka never did. But still I love your take on this

I don't really think that. I think there are all kinds of love that exist and even if Mamori x Usagi relationship may seem a bore to you, they have a sweet love. We never see everything that happens between them because it isn't necessary because we already know that Usagi and Mamoru will end up together and produce Rini. Sometimes love may appear boring to other people but there love is sweet and what they really need is each other. Seiya is a new character and of course this arc is a nice one to watch. We have all fallen for Seiya because he is something fresh that falls down to Usagi's life and there sweet little romance is something different than what we see with Mamoru. We aren't Usagi, but what we do know is that her love with Mamoru was eternal; just an instant glimpse of each other and they recognized something familiar. They are basically soulmates. I think love is indescribable and even if it may seem boring to others, there feelings...everything is different when you actually experience it. I think Mamoru x Usagi is permanently set. It's just because Usagi forced herself to forget her Mamoru died and she is basically stupidly innocent that she goes with the flow of things but her heart belongs to Mamoru and no one else. All she can see Seiya is friendship and I just have to rewatch to remember everything about this show. Plus Seiya will have to return to his princess and protect her because it is his duty and you know what, he is even further away than Mamoru.
yeah BUT there is this problem of said age gap between Mamoru and usagi tbh soulmates or not it's creepy. Mamoru is basically adult, lives alone, attends college and here he is getting it on with a 14 year old....i'm not an expert how they do things in japan, but in my country it would be called illicit.

She's just hurt because he hasn't been responding to her letters, since he's abroad in the U.S. Seiya comes along trying to find their princess, meets Usagi and falls in love. Usagi is trying to fight back the feelings she has for Seiya because she will always love Mamoru. But I feel she just loves him since her destiny is to bare his child and what not and be queen. Seiya and Usagi is real love
No Usagi doesn't cheat on Mamoru. Seiya falls in love with Usagi and flirts with her a lot. You can see Usagi blushing a lot around Seiya so she seems to like Seiya but she never actually cheats on Mamoru.

Is Usagi, cheating on Mamoru?
No Usagi doesn't cheat on Mamoru. Seiya falls in love with Usagi and flirts with her a lot. You can see Usagi blushing a lot around Seiya so she seems to like Seiya but she never actually cheats on Mamoru.
