I didn't realize that baseless superstition was still so popular in parts of the South. What is the rationale for a blind taste test being the determining factor in whether or not a food product is evil? Who made that determination, and why?
I would bet that most people couldn't tell the flavor of Mike & Ike's while blindfolded. Does that mean that Mike & Ike's are evil too?
The fact is that visual perception does play a role in our sense of taste and smell. In fact, a fair number of people can't tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi while blindfolded, even though almost everyone can immediately taste the difference if they can see the product beforehand. Does that make one of the two products evil? If so, which one? And the same can be said for many other products, including beer.

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. You have some valid points I agree with. But let me know if you take the Skittles test and let me know your personal conclussion if you could determine the flavor.

@@gumballgold 1. Thanks for replying. I'm glad that you agree with some of my points. Out of curiosity, which points do you agree with, and which points do you disagree with?
      2. I would be a terrible candidate for the blind taste test. After 35+ years of smoking, my taste buds have deteriorated to the point where I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Cherry Coke and Cherry Pepsi (my 2 favorite sodas) without looking at the labels. I can taste the cherry in each, but I would not be able to tell which was Coke and which was Pepsi.
      3. As I pointed out yesterday, a blind taste test would be pointless, since there is no rational basis for concluding that such a test has anything at all to do with a product being "evil." A lot of products (including Mike & Ike's) would fail such a test. The only thing one can conclude is that whoever came up with that so-called test clearly didn't like Skittles.
      4. Since people's taste buds vary so dramatically, relying on such an arbitrary factor as blindly being able to taste a difference between products for determining whether or not any given product is evil will lead to obvious false assumptions. Like people who can't tell the difference between Coke and Coke Zero believing that Coke is evil. Or people who can't tell the difference between Pepsi and Pepsi Zero believing that Pepsi is evil. Or people who can't tell the difference between Coors and Coors Light believing that Coors is evil.
      5. Even if there was a rational basis for believing that Skittles was evil (there's not), someone who took that taste test and was able to tell the difference between the flavors would then wrongly conclude that Skittles aren't evil, just like the people in #4 above would wrongly conclude that those products are evil.

@@kennethnorman5511 I smoked for decades and switched to vaping ten years ago. Because smoking killed my parents and everyone in their generation that smoked. Since then my lungs have healed and finally have my smelling and taset senses back. Also my wife has made me get x rays of my lungs to see the healing process. If you truly want to try this test, I recommend gathering three or more non smoking people you trust and conduct the test with them. I also recommend doing research on the people who manage the company and the company's parent company Mars. When I did I found these people are evil, enabled evil, or just ignorant of what the companies are doing to children. Check their Linked In profiles and other social media. I remember back in the 80's evil people would hide their deeds and as time went on and expecially with the internet evil people are now proud to be outed for who they really are. Most recent evidence is the woman hanging out with Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl dressed as a demon flashing satanic hand signals wearing satanic symbols. The church of satan is even erecting symbols at the MN. state capital building. Now I don't know you or your beliefs but no matter if you are a religious man, agnostic and etc., you have to see in our society that evil people are out in plain sight. And these people do have jobs using their jobs to do evil.

@@gumballgold As I stated in my previous comments, there is simply no rational basis for believing that a blind taste test can determine whether or not ANY given product is evil. That would include Skittles, Mike & Ikes, Coke, Pepsi, or Coors beer, as previously described. I also mentioned the dramatic differences in people's sense of taste. Therefore, asking people to take a blind taste test, and suggesting that the results of their taste test would determine whether or not a product is evil, would lead to false conclusions:
Someone who couldn't tell the difference between Coors and Coors Light would falsely believe that Coors was evil.
Conversely, if Skittles really were evil, someone who could tell the difference (even if it was shear luck) would falsely conclude that the company wasn't evil. (I added the shear luck qualifier because I suspect that there is no difference in taste between the various flavors of Skittles, just like I suspect that there is no difference in taste between the various flavors of Mike & Ikes.)
So why would you suggest that I try an arbitrary taste test that would prove nothing, and would even lead to people drawing false conclusions? That would be no better than consulting a Ouija board to determine a company's virtue. (I hope you don't believe in Ouija boards.)
The bottom line is that there has to be a rational basis for determining whether or not a company is evil (i.e: their actions). And a blind taste test is not rational. Rather, it's completely arbitrary, and would inevitably lead to false conclusions.
I am aware of the product in Skittles that some believe could cause cancer. I applaud you for being concerned about this issue. However, I'm not sure that this would justify referring to the company as evil, since the FDA has not determined that the product in question is unsafe in the quantities used.
I'm also aware that their parent company (Mars) uses cocoa that is in some cases produced by child labor. I applaud you for being concerned about this issue, and I believe that they should be banned from doing so. I would only point out that the other chocolate companies in the U.S. (Hershey, Nestle and Cargill) also use the same cocoa, and they too, should be banned from doing so.
I have absolutely no interest in what Taylor Swift does, who she dates, or who she hangs out with.
As to the display erected by the Satanic Temple, I disagree with their message. That said, I believe they have just as much of a right to display their symbols in the state house as any other religious organization. If a state or other government entity wants to allow a particular religion's display on government property, they should not have the right to deny another religious organization the same privilege. A great example of this from a different perspective would be the city of Dearborn, Michigan, which has a large Muslim population. If the city were to allow a statue of Muhammad on government property, they do not -- and should not -- have the right to prevent a Christian organization from displaying a statue of Jesus.

Again I totally agree with all your valid points. The only reason and purpose of this video is to see if other people heard of this test. It sparked my curiousity to try the test after loosing money trying to sell the product. And it is a fun topic of conversation with your comments and the locals I that brought this to my attention. But it seems this maybe just a local thing because no one else in the comments or other social media has come forward to say they have heard of this test in their part of the country. But as time goes on I hope more people will comment since this video has less than 100 views as I am replying to your insightful comment. What are your thoughts on the pride pachaging of the product I used in the thumbnail? Skittles is a donor of GLADD. I find it interesting that Skittles did not offer this packaging in Mississippi.
