I have a personal love for marker library love your work keep at it
I'm gonna try this in some work and see if I enjoy it, it seems fun and colorful.
You did great with the two tutorial vids~
Thanks for you’re hard work 🤍✨
I thought it was going to be something like:
One: draw a circle
Two: add details
I love your pfp
Nahhh, for me I don't find those kind do tutorials useful.

I really love the idea of not painting details, but rather painting the illusion of detail. Making little blobs and lines in certain areas, which seem to be full of detail from afar but are in reality simple blobs of paint. Many other artists also seem to be using this technique, such as WLOP for example. Great video, love your work!
Thank u ! It's my favourite way of not spending alot of time on a piece xD
This is so true! Like when I watched this video I realized that another artist I really enjoyed actually does the exact same thing and it honestly looks really pretty especially when you're really good with colour choice!
@@thelying2594 Yeah! It showcases the rawness of the brush strokes. Lovely technique.
Ive never actually seen anyone put this into words, but this is *exactly* what I wanna make - Ill have to tell people this when they ask me!! Thanks :))
Me, a lazy perfectionist: this was both helpful and unhelpful at the same time

Ive started digital art and realised how difficult it is to colour cuz i used to never colour my sketches. Thank you for this video ily
That's exactly how I felt when I started digital art haha 🤍 just keep on trying new things and you'll improve
i literally just started and i’m going through the same thing too 😭
Me too
Me too! I love messy art but bc of pressure, I try so hard to do clean ones. Just to day I'm trying to paint hair in a way that is clean and it was the last straw 😂😂😂
Oof! Same here! ^^;
YESSSS I’ve finally found videos of someone who likes messy art 😭😭 so many art videos go on about it being bad or how to make it less messy. I love your videos- they’re really helpful! 💙💙
Yh like I want a messy cartoonish artstyle but I can't do it heck I'm going thru an artstyle crisis rn but hopefully I'll be able to find a style I like
@@undead.angel001 finding an art style is hard :// I hope it goes well for you! One method I’ve found that’s fun to try is to do the sketch, the lineart and then keep the sketch layer on underneath (sometimes I lower the opacity if it it’s too much) that helps with giving it a slightly messy look! (Might not be what you’re going for tho)
Messy art style are so beautiful !!! They are my favourite
i love messy artstyle too✨👀
Update: still growing thru an artstyle crisis :')
I'm going to cry 😭 you're the first person who actually shows how to blend in details - enough for my dumbass to understand. Thank you!
please use a smudge tool, this way is infinitely more complicated-

I just use traditional painting tools like an oil brush or a watercolor brush which automatically blends with the color. It's just my preference but I will definitely try this method out.

Thank you for the tutorial @Bluebiscuits! I want to try coloring differently, so this is a lifesaver!
0:00 - Intro & Wingfox Sponsor.
1:00 - Blue’s Techniques
Lineart can be skipped and everything is usually kept to one layer, which is the base colors and sketch merged together. This layer gets copied, and the copy is what gets rendered. This is so Blue can make changes easily while having a backup.
1:52 - Brushes
This style can be done with any brush that has opacity settings. While Blue uses the SOL brush from CPS, you can do this with any soft brush in any program with opacity. Hard brushes are good for adding in details. It also helps to have a color picker.
2:57 - Details
There isn’t so much detail so much as the implications of detail. Especially for backgrounds, the details usually boil down to well placed brush strokes. Detail is reserved for the characters faces or other focal points of the drawing, so they usually look the neatest and stand out.
3:41 - Brush Strokes
Don’t stress being neat, do messy strokes and blend in a triangle (not sure what that means.)
4:28 - Brush Examples
Here Blue shows how the different brushes function and blend together. Also I see what she meant by “triangles”, as she makes sharp shapes for shading as opposed to blending it all down.
10:09 -Duplicating Layers + Rendering Faces
Here Blue shows how and why they copied the layer, along with the rendering. Rendering is basically the clean up process and where any extra details get added in, while checking the original layer to make sure everything fits. I’m noticing that the shading for his hair has also gotten a bit clearer, while still keeping to that messy feeling.
That’s all I got for now, again, thank you Bluebiscuits for this video!
👏🏾I 👏🏾 love 👏🏾your 👏🏾art style👏🏾 It inspires me!💜
FOR AGES I was hating my art because I wanted to learn how to colour like this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm literally in love with what I'm drawing rn using this style style shading
Ive been recently so influenced by your art, this video is a dream come true
So, I’m starting to learn how to do digital art. I’m used to traditional art, with line art and stuff. But when I tried doing line art digitally, it was pure torture and I hated how it came out. I’ve always been interested in art styles that have no line art, but I’ve never known how they’ve done it with it still looking good.
Thank you so much for this video! I’ll test out these tricks in the morning since it’s currently 4:00am. I’ll be off to watch more of your tutorials now :D
BEST PAINTING EVER, oms Blue thank you 🙇🏼♀️ kinda makes me wanna try painting, you can be sure im gonna come back and watch this a few more times whn i try and paint 😂❤️ thank you for the tutorial 👏🏻😭

@@bluebiscuits heheheheeeeee that too #first 😏😎
My mind is blown, my skin is cleansed, my depression has evaporated - thank you very much for this! I always thought the blending in a painting-artstyle is pretty complicated, which is why I always stick to simple celshading but wow. I'll try it out soon! :D Also, your voice is adorable, even when you're sick. Hope you feel better now! :3
I feel that sketch vs lineart dilemma. I personally like lineart personally, but the way your work looks is really pretty and I love it so much.
This is actually so helpful!! Not like those tutorials where they say “just add detail” without actually helping 😩
I'm in love with your art style, i just found this video and the colouring one before it and it got me motivated to try colouring again. I've been struggling a lot trying to get things perfect and failing, so seeing your style that's so loose and beautiful inspired me a lot.
Thank you so much! It’s 6 am rn and i woke up for this as soon as i heard the notif 💀 you tutorials are extremely helpful, please continue to make more beautiful artwork! Ti amo!

Fr I'll be like I hate messy I need everything to be neat but it looks like oversimplified when I do it, then again I have 0 capability to paint slightly messy because my brain hates and rejects it 😭
I hate outlines but I rely on them so much I can only accept a messy sketch or a heavy detailed one- pick a struggle
This was probably the most helpful painting tutorial I’ve ever seen. I used to hate rendering but it’s actually rlly fun! Thanks so much ! :]
Your voice and everything is so aesthetic and pretty your just existence benefits my motivation omg
This is absolutely brilliant!! your style is wonderful and helping others find new ways to paint is awesome, continue to keep up the amazing work
I’m so grateful for this tutorial 💜💜💜💜 for me I always struggled some odd reason with LAYERS and how exactly people tended to blend them together. This is the first painting video I’ve seen that actually shows the few layers involved and you explained them too ✋😭 thank you so much

IM SO HAPPY I SAW THIS I WAS CURRENTLY STRUGGLING IN COLORING BUT THIS HELPED ME ALOT THANK YOU I HOPE YOUR VOICE FEELS BETTER ❤️😭
I wish more artist do this... specially for newbies... Oftentimes none tells them how they could approach the art process. At the end of the day everyone finds their own way but at the very beggining a guide would be helpful. So they end up trying 500 different things without actually developing a process or a style nor even the skills.
So yeaah cool video!👍
THIS WAS SO HELPFUL TYY
I LOVE MESSY ART STYLESSS I have a very messy artstyle myself so I always worry about my art not looking “professional” or “clean” so this reallly helped me out! Tysm!
You are a GODDES at art! Ive always wanted to learn new stelyes or just how to shade, paint and out of so many tutorials I'm in love whit your tutorial videos!
your work has a really peaceful and calm vibe to it that I love, and I also hate lineart but I'm not good enough at painting to cut it out of my process just yet. videos like this really help me figure that out. also, your voice is lovely! I got really excited when I recognized your accent. my mom is south african too, and between her accent slowly becoming more american over time and me just associating it wholesale with her voice, I didn't think I could pick it out when I heard it anymore. definitely can't imitate it. it was nice to hear.
THE VIDEO I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR BECAUSE YOUR ART IS SO GOOD.
THANK YOU!!! I LOVE YOU!❤
When i found out your channel i was really inspired by your art, i decided to learn how to paint like you, and just a weeks later you drop this amazing tutorial, thank you ✨❤️✨❤️✨

This was the most helpful process and teaching I’ve ever received in a long time. Thank you so much, I hope you’re very confident in your work because it’s good! You’ve inspired me to draw some more. Drawing’s a really hard thing to keep consistent isn’t it? Haha, thanks again.
Both of these videos were so nice, i’ve just gotten started with digital art and the medium seems so confusing compared to tradition art so your videos help a lot. Also i love your art style!

When I saw this video I knew exactly that this is the best digital art tutorial RUclipsr. Ya got a new subscriber!
i was literally in the middle of not knowing how to color my sketch THIS WAS SO HELPFULL AHHH this really improved me thank u sm!!!
As someone who's too lazy to do line art and loves the messy lineless painterly style, I am super glad to find your channel. Your tips are super helpful!
Bluebiscuits tutorials are the reason I feel motivated and keep doing my art! love how the shading doesn't have to be realistic nor all objects/ subjects have to be very detailed bcs I struggle a lot being automatically detailed when it comes to rendering and it's exhausting :')
Finally!! This is exactly what I was looking for, I'm so happy! Thank you for the tutorial, it was perfect
i've always dreamed about making a painted art (as i never did that). Thank you for you tuto it helps a lot !
Thanks you so so much for this tutorial blue!! I've been having trouble with rendering and this helps a lot! Thanks again!
omg tysm for this, ive recently tried to switch from traditional to digital art and im finding out that it is very hard to color but this has helped me out a ton!!
I'm really impressed by the brush. I'm not quite able to get the lineart to look the way I want it to with the more detailed brushes. Having this simple semi-all-in-one tool is really useful for beginners.
I’ve wondered about this for so long but never thought you’d do this, thank u !!
I really enjoy the fact that you also love messy art styles- A friend recently told me they liked my style in the way I drew it, but they wouldn't want it for themself, and they explained why, which they went on to say something along the lines of it's something with my line art and that I just need a stabilizer and life will be great. The thing is I prefer the messy art style, where nothing has to be perfect you just enjoy putting colors and lines on the paper. I always loosely do things and not exactly place them correctly, but that's the fun and enjoyable part. Watching this was really satisfying and I'm glad someone else enjoys the "messy" style. I think it's very beautiful. "Clean" art is beautiful too. All of it is. I'm hoping to try out a painting style like this seeing as coloring was never my strong suit. I love the outcome and I can't wait to try something similar to this to experiment with my coloring style :DD Thank you for putting in the time and effort to share wonderful tips like this!!
your drawings are amazing seriously, you inspire me and help me a lot
I’m really late but this helped me to understand a lot of things since I don’t like doing lineart (my lineart is basically cleaning my sketch x)) and I couldn’t figure out how to render with this method until I found this ! Thank you so much for doing this tutorial ^^

You mentioned you weren't sure if you're making sense in thr video (relatable ahahaha), so i wanted to tell you that what really works for me is that you also have a 'smaller' example that you do (i think?) In real time basically, and a 'bigger' one, on a piece that you finish up, and that helps me a lot personally because I'm a visual learner 😄
