Before you all go saying it wasn’t an emergency landing, it was declared an emergency landing over ATC by the pilots!
You can watch the landing clip into Melbourne here: m.ruclips.net/video/cDi0icOKSFM/видео.html
@@richrich4285 Someones having a bad day 😬
I was on the flights too, you can see my head, the long line of emergency vehicles upon landing is a good indication of an emergency landing.
Ahhh, I was on the same flight! As bad as this sounds, I actually had my headphones on and was completely oblivious to any problems or the fact we were heading around in circles. I was shocked when we landed back in Melbourne! Also missed the announcement with the second flight, in what seemed to be the longest MEL-SYD flight ever! Probably just as well I was oblivious to everything, that was a long day!
100% I wish I had my headphones in, wouldn't of had to stress about an emergency landing! 😂
I remember following this unfold on IG. Great to finally watch the full video experience. The last time I flew QF SYD - MEL, I was chastised by a ground crew for filming on the tarmac. I was on a Gopro and not even a phone. You seem to get all the good ground crew and I get the ogres. I want that chocolate lamington thingy! Two emergency landings in one flight? Can't blame this MEL - SYD sector to be boring!
Hahaha, I don’t fly this sector too often and now it’s got some wierd memories! Thanks for watching :)
Oh my goodness. 2 emergency landings in one trip. That sure is scary. Glad you landed safely both times 👍
Yes it was!
Well documented mate!! And a huge congratulations on your 500 subscribers milestone!! Way to go!!
Thanks for watching!
Great flight review Aidan, 10 out of 10 buddy. Looking forward to your next instalment.
Thanks for watching:)
Glad it all turned out ok! And your kiwi captain did well! What a day it was!
Was an interesting one! Thanks for watching
Congrats on 1.39k subs! Keep up the good effort!✈
Thankyou for the support!
sounds like an adventure!
Great video, Aidan! I think that this has been your best one so far. I really like how you have started doing a little bit of talking to the camera rather than just voiceover throughout. I like your sense of humour! Matthew
Thanks for watching:)
Great video! Keep it up!
Thanks for watching:)
Good information, keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
congrats on 500 subs
Thanks for watching:)
nice video mate
Looks like the pilots landed the flights like true champs - on both occasions.
They sure did, thanks for watching:)
Nice video ! Crazy how it happened 2 times in a row… looks like they don’t look after their planes ..
Thanks for watching:)
couple of months ago on my way home from LA on Air NZ the oxygen masks fell! most stressful moment for me ever, it was a false alarm though thankfully and crew handled it really well
Jeez that’s crazy!
On the 2nd amergency the fire fighters followed you to the gate cool :) :)
Well that was all very dramatic. Was in the same plane ✈️ both flights? Great video, well done 👍
Hello there, I found your video as it’s Rex’s 20th birthday today and I wanted to see if they had a RUclips channel. I haven’t flown Rex for years, since they stopped using CBR but am now considering a flight in 2023 on their 737. Have to say your video put me off a little! It all looked OK but I’ve never had this happen to me on a flight ever - yet. I nearly always fly QF nowadays. It seems that landing on two long runways is not an issue with this tech. Where do Rex get their maintenance done on the 737? The first aircraft looked ex VA. Yes I am an av geek I can check lol. There are not a lot of flights per day from MEL to CBR - I think it’s only one, but their prices and service looks really good! Thanks for the video. I watched to the end because well, it was a bit unusual and not so routine! ✈️
Yeah, I have flown with them many times, and I am sure I will continue doing it! This video was in no way saying dont fly Rex, I still highly reccomend them! Great airline :)
Very interesting mate! I was wondering how I could get in contact with you about a collab or something? Keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching, my email aidanpullino@icloud.com would be your best bet!
9:41 Well that didn’t age well 😅 Surely not a coincidence! Great review regardless, really enjoyed it !
hahah thanks for watching!
Hey mate nice flight review my flight got dealyd when I went to Queensland and I had to spend 6 hours in Melbourne airport
Thanks for watching:)
That is definitely not a coincidence, considering that the aircraft was changed second time around and the same thing happened. Glad you all landed safely…twice!
Thanks for watching! Weird but fun experience :)
Your videos are cool. :D
Glad you think so!
After the first Emergency Landing did you had to switch planes or did you have the same one when reboarded
You had those biscuits too :O
Thanks for watching:)
@@ifly1 Of course, No problem!
Didn’t know Rex ran anything other then prop planes, well there you go.
Thanks for watching:)
Oh I know how that feels like we were on a Jetstar Melbourne to Bali or Indonesia we were almost there 8 hours in our flight then the volcano erupted and we had to go all the way back to Melbourne
Any kind of aircraft emergency can be scary. A few years ago, Canadian airline WestJet had a problem with one of their planes. The Q-400 started filling with a smoky haze and had to make an emergency landing. Everyone made it off the plane but the cause of the smoke is still under investigation
Wow! Sounds crazy!
That interior on the first plane looks exactly like the Virgin Australia one… Are they leased?
yeah they are leased from the same company that leased them to VA
Ooh scary 😂
Interesting
Hey @Ifly Aviation i was plane spotting at the airport on that day and have footage of your plane landing and taxing past all the firetrucks. Let me know if you want that footage for any future videos or just in general ill be happy to give it!! And everyone in the comments it was a real emergency i was listening to ATC as well.
thanks for watching! yeah do send it through, preferably to my instagram @ifly.aviation!
That's good. I can't find anything on the internet about it other than this video. It makes me wonder how many emergencies occur without any public information about it.
@@RiverDanube it’s because we only hear about the deadly or VERY bad incident or accident flights
@@RiverDanube Lots, and probably even more losses of separation. But you know why? Because even if they're 100% they can land safely (like here) they will still call it an emergency on the off-chance something goes wrong (because it's not a normal routine landing).
Theses things happen but you can’t complain because 99.9% of flights are smooth and safe
Thanks for watching!
@@ifly1 no problem 😉
Don't they do proper maintenance great video despite the hassle
No fire and rescue in Sydney?
Could the gate number be an omen?
Maybe, who knows
Extremely strange that a similar issue affecting flaps happened on both aircraft and it sounds like the same captain?
Yeah it was, thanks for watching!
for both flights, was it the same aircraft?
RYU first then RQC second
@@ifly1 what the? how could different planes have similar flap issues? sounds like someones been doing dodgy maintenance
@@anguscovoflyer95 no idea! that’s why it was wierd
That's what happens when You tubers point those new-fangled cameras all over the tarmac and the plane. :=)
Was it is the same aircraft or two different ones
Different
They taxied past the tech one on the second flight by the looks.
You would have hoped that they checked the whole fleet after that
You would hope so!
What a problem with first plane?
My last few REX trips, i noticed there is no water available to wash hands in the bathroom, which is preposterous and turns the whole plane into a giant toilet bowl.,, as no passengers can wash their hands after bathroom breaks, Sanitiser is not sufficient. It was gross. made worse on my last flight by a lady in the seat behind me, blowing on the back of my arm which was on the arm rest, I turned to see where the strange air was coming from and the lady passenger was scraping hair and dead skin cells out of her comb, and blowing the debris free, hidden behind my seat and blowing her breath and comb crap onto me, later the stewardess, had reached the end of the aisle (as i was in the seat 2nd from the back) and dusted herself off in my direction. I'm not trying to be picky, I'm usually easy going, the staff are usually lovely and professional, but the seat had food and crap on it, and the inflight magazine was water damaged and left in rotation reckon, all in all, it was uncomfortable, filthy, and gross, I'll just pay the extra and fly with Qantas next time.
It hapened 2 times
Compensation of $8 for a snack (at airport prices) is not good and another sign that they try to cut costs to the minimum.
Yeah haha, thanks for watching!
ELOR
2 amergency landings there 2
This is nothing new with Rex, emergency services scrambled for Rex is a daily occurrence around the country. They get those jets from graveyards and put new paint on them, the propeller planes are vintage from the 80s/90s. Only a matter of time before something serious with this mob...
Rex was originally virgin Australia
Thanks for watching!
