I cannot tell why, but everytime I hear and ponder the words of this song, I feel in it a comphrehension of the Christian’s Hope , and the often heartbreaking struggle and Victory that God has already accomplished on the Cross of Jesus Christ
"Since your majesty and your lordships desire a simple reply, I will answer without horns and without teeth. Unless I am convicted by scripture and plain reason--I do not accept the authority of popes and councils for they have contradicted each other--my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise, God help me. Amen.""
It would have truly been great if it would have been recorded better. Find the one spot on the hall where the words sound clearest and record on one mic. More mics to mix for stereo but the words are the paramount importance and they are not as clear as they could be.
This hymn is one of my old time favorites since I was a teenager. I still love it. It's very powerful and gives us hope everyday that God will defeat Satan for all time. Greetings from the United States.
He is faithful. I was young, and now I am old. I have never seen the righteous forsaken, or their children begging for bread. Unless, of course, they strayed…to which a different form of His faithfulness drew them back
The tune was played by the military band as they carried the body of President Bush up the stairs of the capital building. Highly befitting for a family and a man that served his country selflessly.
A mighty fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing; Our shelter He, amid the flood Of mortal ills prevailing. For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe; His craft and pow’r are great, And, armed with cruel hate, On earth is not his equal. Did we in our own strength confide, Our striving would be losing; Were not the right Man on our side, The Man of God’s own choosing. Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He; Lord Sabaoth is His name, From age to age the same, And He must win the battle. And tho’ this world, with devils filled, Should threaten to undo us; We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us. The prince of darkness grim - We tremble not for him; His rage we can endure, For lo! his doom is sure, One little word shall fell him. That word above all earthly pow’rs - No thanks to them - abideth: The Spirit and the gifts are ours Thro’ Him who with us sideth. Let goods and kindred go, This mortal life also; The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still, His kingdom is forever."
Dad was a Lutheran minister and as he declared from deep in his heart and soul, felt so strong and deep a calling to teach of God's love and Jesus ultimate ❤ 🙏 sacrifice, he taught about Martin Luther and his amazing works. This song 🎵 is from Heaven in my opinion.
@@charlotteknutsen7262Johann Sebastian Bach, the fellow who wrote this music, was a Lutheran too! He said: "All music should have no other end or aim than the Glory of God and the refreshment of the soul."
Toco esse hino a 50 anos e cada vez que o faço sinto a força e grandiosidade transformadora do espírito santo e o poder de Deus em defender os seus. Aleluia!

【神為其民堅固城牆】
詩集:頌主聖詩,195
神為其民堅固城牆,永不動搖之保障;
我們若遇困苦憂傷,主必拯救免危亡;
古老兇猛仇敵攻擊不留餘地,用牠權能,
詭計,作為可怕利器,世間無能與祂比。
主民若仗自己力量,與惡戰爭必敗亡,
幸有一位替我抵擋,已奉差遣從天降;

Thank you Martin Luther
May God build a hedge of protection around this university. Protect it from Satan and his evil workers of iniquity.
The best performance of this song so far. Victorious!

Listening today in honor of Luther and the Reformation. This is so well done and timely in our present darkness.
This hymn is one of my old time favorites since I was a teenager. I still love it. It's very powerful and gives us hope everyday that God will defeat Satan for all time. Greetings from the United States.
God is great
This song sounds best when sung by a choir. Great job!

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and He knows those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7
The fortress is in us and in everything around us. Go in peace, love and serve the Lord.

Hello to all that Faithfully Serving God
1 A mighty fortress is our God,
a bulwark never failing;
our helper he, amid the flood
of mortal ills prevailing.
For still our ancient foe
does seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great,
and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal.
2 Did we in our own strength confide,
our striving would be losing,
were not the right Man on our side,
the Man of God's own choosing.
You ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is he;
Lord Sabaoth his name,
from age to age the same;
and he must win the battle.
3 And though this world, with devils filled,
should threaten to undo us,
we will not fear, for God has willed
his truth to triumph through us.
The prince of darkness grim,
we tremble not for him;
his rage we can endure,
for lo! his doom is sure;
one little word shall fell him.
4 That Word above all earthly powers
no thanks to them abideth;
the Spirit and the gifts are ours
through him who with us sideth.
Let goods and kindred go,
this mortal life also;
the body they may kill:
God's truth abideth still;
his kingdom is forever!

It is nice to see BJU wearing appropriate clothing again.

Great moves by the conductor. A baton in his hand would make him look more epic.
Jahowa Debanta do/ Allahmu benteng yang teguh/ Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott
Shame The KJV is not loved by Bob Jones Univ ! Bob the first LOVED IT !!
Sad sad sad
Ruckmanites are weirdos
Psalm 46
Ruckmans old school
Solus Christus
Wonder what Martin Luther would think about such a legalistic school.
He would agree with a scripture centered institution.
Beautiful
