- Welcome to my Mattel Pixar Spotlight Series WALL-E REVIEW, the epic final installment in my current Spotlight Series trilogy. This is a long one (an entire week in the making), but you won't want to miss a single one of Wall-e's many, many details, so be sure to watch until the end. If you're a Wall-E fan/collector, you will not be disappointed (honestly I think he's actually my favorite in this line so far)! I can't think of any other Wall-E toys and/or collectibles in this scale that are better. @@jaroto12 It'd be a glorified version of the regular mattel Eve figure, just like the Wall-E is. Better printing, articulation, etc.

Definitely the best WALL-E figure at that scale, probably one of the best overall too, the only one that might be above it is Ultimate WALL-E, and they aren't really easy to compare because they are entirely different toys and Ultimate would only be better because of function and has a bit less detail.
That is one detailed Wall-E figure. I wish that they release other Wall-E toys with that much detail.

@Kettterer Yup! Honestly, how cool would it be if they made a sub-line of the background robots in Wall-E? Thinkway did a bunch of the reject bots back in 2008, but I'd love to see larger scale models with more detail. I feel that its pretty likely that Mattel will produce a spotlight Eve, but chances are that they will just leave it at those two. Fingers crossed we end up getting some of the other characters, there is a lot of potential here!
@@corellioncrusaderproductio4679 Yep. I still wish that were were ultra-detailed and larger figures of Wall-E's Stewards (SECUR-T). They are my favourites from that film and I don't think they get much notice or attention.
@@Kettterer I've been considering creating a line of 3D printed figures that have a lot of detail and articulation, something that would fit in with the old Disney line up, Mattel's 7 inch series, and the spotlight series. It'd be a while before I actually would have the ability to print them, but I could definitely model some pretty accurate figures of them. Modelling robots are my forte haha!

Definitely try and pick up a Disney Store Wall-E. It's got a die cast body, as well as a lot of articulation and detail for its size. The eyes have printed on cameras with the starfield effect, and it's probably the closest match to this one. (I'm a little caught on the fence over which one is better! I think mattel beats it out pretty easily with the superior articulation though, haha!) Infact, comparing the sculpt from the body, it's identical to the standard Mattel 7" Wall-E, but Mattel's uses newer sculpts for the all the limbs. It looks as though they reused the body, since all the dents are in the exact same place as the disney store, and the sculpt is somehow more crisp. It does not look like a new design.
For the longest time, this one was my golden standard for Wall-E, it has rust and all of the detail you could possibly want. (Proper articulation in the neck. His neck never rotates in the movie! It only hinges left to right. There is a piston half way up the neck that can swivel and extend like his wrists, but that is it. It's always bugged me with the ones that come out haha!) Not to mention the arm tracks, and printed on eyes. This spotlight Wall-E might have just won me over though, the articulation is perfect, and the printed weathering is something I've wanted to see on a Wall-E ever since Hasbro began the "photoreal" tech. Great coverage! This might be the most worthwhile figure yet!
I have that one! I bought it all the way back in 2008. Really good Wall-e figure, he has a nice weight to him, and I really like the cube accessory that fits inside. But this one has kinda won me over, with those translucent eyes...
@@SP8inc They both have their ups and downs! Although, I think these two Wall-E's are the best that I've seen out there. I dunno, the revoltech Wall-E might beat out the disney store by a pinch. It also has those translucent eyes with the camera effect in it, but I don't think it was done quite as well as the new spotlight version.

If you want one where his treads actually move I’d recommend the U-Repair Wall-e you can even take his treads off I had one as a kid

I've been collecting the Pixar 7'' Action figures! I can't wait for the Pixar Spotlight And Featured Favorites to be released as well! And More interactables! The thing is, I've been buying them with only pocket money and getting them as gifts, so I'm doing really well to have what I have at this point! I have all of wave 1, 2, 3, I'm working on 4, and I'm finishing the onward one, I just need Manticore and Wilden). I got the soul ones. And I'm working on the Monsters at Work ones! Hopefully I don't miss out on any! Although they take a while to release them so I should be caught up soon!

Thank you for the nice review! Man this figure looks gorgeous. It has many of the features I wanted in a Wall-e figure ever since I saw the movie in 2008. The translucent eyes with detailed lenses, the articulated and extendable wrists, the positioning of the arms and how you can slide them down, just like Wall-e does in the movie, the movable and removable tracks, the changing heads, and all the accessories.... Man he is just a fantastic release. He's not perfect, and he is commanding quite a high price, but because my birthday is coming up, I think I'm gonna get him as a gift to my younger self!
You know, the Disney store version of Wall-e, the die-cast one, also has the rail system... however, it only goes forwards and backwards, not down. It's a great little figure, but it doesn't have much in the way of articulation. His eyes are printed on with a starry night effect. It looks good, but at the same time the figure as a whole is not as colorful or vibrant as this one. Still worth tracking down I think.
Hopefully we'll see an Eva in this line too!
And I just recently got him! Oh man... it has become not only my favorite Wall-e figure, but one of my favorite figures in my collection. I really do love it, the highly detailed and accurate sculpt, the awesome printed paint, the glassy eyes, the articulation and many many features... so good.
Mine's hook doesn't need a pin, in fact, it doesn't even click or anything. It falls out with gravity.
Oh and about the cooler, there is a plush version included in the10th anaversary tsum tsum set made by the Disney store.

Actually it is the second wall-e unit to have arm grooves that work.
The first is the Disney store diecast model and the hook, it's the second unit to have that.
The first is the ultimate series wall-e built by thinkway.
I am a wall-e Unit expert you know.

It's the third one to have working arm groove and The first and 2nd are the Disney store diecast and gen 1 rc unit technically speaking though the arm grooves on the Disney store rc unit are motorized and the spotlight series unit is the second one to have manual control for the arm grooves.

So basically there's 4 great Wall-E figures now:
1. This new 2021 Mattel Pixar Spotlight Series. (The current best and most articulated)
2. Thinkway U-Repair Wall-E. (2nd best, was THE best, very durable for kid play)
3. Kaiyodo Revoltech Wall-E. (very articulated, but can't open up his torso, very fragile due to design durability flaws)
4. Disney Store Exclusive Diecast figure. (limited articulation and too much weathering, but has sliding and telescoping arms and an opening chest)
I'd say this is a very accurate list for sure! Nailed it.
I own the Thinkway U-Repair Wall-E. I will eventually buy the Mattel Spotlight Series figure. My friend owns the Revoltech and it is really fragile. A lot of people that bought it and reviewed it broke theirs or they arrived broken still in their sealed packaging from Japan.
