      it goes on sale eventually so it will be $350 eventually and yea, that's a budget device compared to something like the iPhone 15 that is $800. U can also get a Samsung for 300 or less but it would just be a worse phone for your money if u don't mind.

      @@newfnshow031true but why should we wait for a sale. Google could, not provide that slow wireless charging, give a regular 60Hz or 90Hz display and give the phone for under $400.
      If people want all of those over the top features then they could get the regular Pixel.

      It's the budget version Pixel but it's definitely not a budget phone. The Nothing Phone 2(a) is much more budget along with Samsung phones like the A35. Motorola also has a tone of phones under $300 that better fit that category.

    I bought it last week mainly because of the £150 refund + trade in allowance they're offering for my old 4a. I was surprised how similar it is to the 4a though, superficially anyway. Performance is snappy enough for me and the 120hz refresh is nice. The 7 years of updates is another draw although how realistic is it that a 2024 phone will actually run Android v.2031 remains to be seen. I started thinking about upgrading my phone back at Pixel 6a, nearly pulled the trigger at 7a, happy I actually did it now with this phone.

    • @wizzgamer
      @wizzgamer 4 месяца назад

      Companies are still releasing phones with mid range chips from 4 years ago this is easy an upper mid range if not light flagship so this should last 7 years as a lot of features will be left out in updates anyway. Battery ageing will be more of a concern before the CPU is.

    The Pixel 6a has been my daily driver for the last 6 months and it has been a very positive experience. Im sure the 8a is a better phone but I don’t feel the need to upgrade any time soon.

    Pixel device are not for India. Expensive than other other countries, heats a lot, reception issues and too much battery drain.
    Poco X6 Pro, Oneplus 12R, and upcoming Poco F6 beats pixel in all major aspects. Yeah pixel has a better camera and software but the above issues ruins the experience.

  • @pascal9728
    @pascal9728 4 месяца назад +4

    Great test. However, you can't call the device a budget phone. The price is too high for that. Of course it will fall in a few months, but as of now it is too high. Discount campaigns should not count here either. Otherwise, you can always talk about a discount when you sell your old device and buy a new one with the money. As far as the long update guarantee goes, it will become clear what compromises you will have to make at some point. In other words, which new features will actually be available on the old devices, or whether you will just have to buy a new device after 2-3 years.

      Where can you get an iPhone for that price? Literally, only maybe in America. Everywhere else in the world, it is significantly more expensive. Overall I have to say the tensor chips have been a disappointment. Like mentioned in the video for this price range the tensor chip is okay but for the 8 and 8 pro they just don’t cut it. It’s not even just about raw power for benchmark testing the tensor G3 has been a disappointment for everyday use. I notice too many hiccups and stutters on my GFs phone. I personally use a Pixel 7 pro and the G2 is terrible for gaming. The phone gets warms and starts to lag after about 20-30 minutes on PUBG and that’s even with the lowest graphic settings. All in all I think google should have stuck with snapdragon especially considering that the AI features are really nothing too special compared to what’s available in competitors phones’.
