Done the reverse bay park on my test ( thought I failed it) was a quiet car park but wasn`t anywhere near level. Was going up/down everywhere. My instructor taught me to never touch the brake during certain maneuvers,Go out a snails pace and learn to control the car with just the clutch movement..Ended up on the line, pulled forward then reversed again,Said drive on.Would always say the main thing to new learners just keep looking all around you, known people who`ve failed on maneuvers (even though perfect first time) Because the main issue was not looking all around them every couple of seconds or so.
I failed on this today, was outside of the bay, so so so gutted, everything else was ok, failed in the test center car park too, right at the end of the test!
Two mistakes. 1. At 7:20 when you recommend to “…line up on the opposite side for more turning room” will cause your car to swing into vehicles which are parked in that same “opposite” side you’re telling people to line up next to. And 2. I really don’t understand why lots of people on RUclips recommend ‘dry steering’ ?! I was faulted in my Part 2 Test (which I’ve since passed) for dry steering…..
Thanks for video . My instructor insists that even if the car after reverse parking wouldn’t be straight it will be count as fail even if it is parked within lines. But from your video it seems that our focus should only to be parked without crossing/ touching the lines without caring position of the car . Please share your views thanks
Hi my test is Monday, what are the examiner views on using the rear view camera for reverse parking? I always do observations and just use the cam to check my tyre is lined up correctly before turning in
