This is a superb video, and you made made so many important points.
In Britain, people were traumatised by WWII but slowly recovered from it. Ukrainians will also recover from this war.
The tips you gave for dealing with the stress of the war are very, very valuable.

    Psyc Tips:
    1. Train your brain to ignore everything Pootler says! EVERYTHING. No matter what he says. It is worth less than toilet paper.
    2. Yes, all the major social media companies are supressing non-paid accounts. Don't worry about it.
    3. To avoid burn out: Switch gears. Your brain always gets ''tired" of maintaining a high level of engagement to anything. The trick is to switch gears when you feel the fatiguue kick in. Think of your brain like a car, it does no good to spin the wheels if you're not going anywhere, right? it just burns the tires. You need to take breaks, twist the wheels, get a new angle and THEN hit the gas again. That way you avoid burn out. It's a similar thing to what anyone in high-stress professions, like EMS, police, fire-fighters, etc, used to avoid job burn out. So, in this case, engage with something NOT war related. Art, music, movies, nature walks, anything at all which switches your mind away from the war stuff. And then you'll see that after you take a break for a few days or hours, you'll feel differently. You can try knitting too.
The trick is to find something which DEMANDS your focus, and you cannot do automatically. Bc then your mind needs to take a break from stressing out, and focus on the thing in front of you. it's the only way to get it to ''disengage" when it doesn't want to due to trauma/war stuff. So, it needs to be something new, usually. Something you don't already know how to do. OR something strenuous. Like running a marathon.
    4. Insomnia. This one is tricky, and depends on how bad you have it. It's similar to point 3 though, you need to find something which draws your mind away from the thing it's obsessing about... So, if it's not extreme insomnia, you can try putting a story on in the background and watching it while in bed. You can try ASMR channels too. The ones with the stories, specifically, Not all of them are like that, so you have to search around a bit, but there are a few which are just skits with short stories and they work great. IF the insomnia is super bad tho, try to convince yourself to do ''shifts". Tune in to war related channels, and just think that you don't need to be ''alert" right now, bc someone else is. Don't aim for sleep, aim for less-alert. You're just taking a small break to refresh yourself. You don't really need to sleep, you just need to rest. Soldiers do that on the front, so it's safe to do that for you too. Bc someone else is paying attention. You have back up. You're not alone. And then you can switch in the morning.
I liked history based channels. Bc they were war related but not the current war, so I told myself that I have to pay attention to them bc I am learning about war stuff which will make me better tomorrow! And while I was paying attention, my brain stopped freaking out for long enough for me to pass out ...eventually. It took a bit of time. In the beginning I was barely able to do a few hrs. I celebrated when I woke up and 2.5 hrs had passed.
The trick is to get your brain to FOCUS on something other than that spinning thing it does, where it just keeps going and won't stop. Fear and adrenaline are incompatible with sleep. Nothing bad is happening right now tho, and you need to sleep when you can. There's no point in freaking out needlessly. Just keep reminding yourself of that. And find something which holds your focus. Logic works to calms your brain too, but focus on something else is essential, if your brain won't shut off.
    5. Get involved in solving the problem. When you're actively doing something about what's troubling you, it's easier to train yourself to have ON times and OFF times. It helps with managing stress. And it helps with the feelings stuff too, like guilt, fear, panic, sorrow, etc.
Remember how far you've come from where you started off. Not everything is perfect right now, but look at that progress and don't lose hope. Have confidence that you will get to the top of this mountain. Small steps add up. And before you know it, you're there. It just look impossible right now, but that's just perspective. It ALWAYS looks impossible before you reach the top. Reaching the top will change your perspective though. You've been through hard times before. Remeber how good it felt to kick their butts last time. It will feel even better now.
    6. Your mind is a labyrinth fortress. If one thing breaks you can just build something else. And no one can stop you. It's YOUR fortress, you're the only one who knows it's secrets and layouts, and you can redesign it any time it suits you. Just like that. Just by thinking about it. It's kinda like magic :). There are no obstacles you can't get past and no walls you can't remake or unmake. You can train it to do anything you can imagine. Anything at all. What's Pootler's repetitive BS, transparent lies compared to THAT? Nothing. He has the impact of an ant farting in a thunder storm. I can't even hear him... Can you? :)
    7. When you have a bad day, think of something awesome which seems impossible to do and that's your next Everest. Hardship can be very soothing. It *always* makes you better. So whatever was bothering you before, you are assured that it will not be bothering you for much longer. Few things in life are that certain.

    • @andrabook8758
      @andrabook8758 3 месяца назад

The history channels content had to be long too, in my case. And super angry against the ''bad guys". The anger helped with the focus part. Sometimes whatever is in your head is too loud, and the anger helps you focus past the ''loudness".
The trick is to focus on something else tho, so find that lever, whatever it is for you even if it's not "raging at history", and use it to train your mind when to be ON and when to be OFF. On, off. You need both to NOT burn out.
But don't worry, you can do it. Remember those mothers who can suddenly lift cars to save their kids? You can do more than you think you can.
Also I am kinda curious how long ppls insomnia is lasting? If you're at several weeks/months and your brain feels on fire, pls let me know. I'm curious and I kinda feel like it should be a study. It's technically not a ''mental health" condition bc I've never heard of it prior and it's not listed anywhere, but it is a thing. If you're not at that level, start with the ASMR/story telling channels. It will probably do the trick. You just need to distract yourself enough for the exhaustion to kick in and knock you out :).

    • @andrabook8758
      @andrabook8758 3 месяца назад

Oh and try ABSTRACT art :). It works better than regular art. Just put the emotions into the colors and don't worry about trying to control the shapes. I don't 100% know why but I think it activates different parts of the brain compared to regular painting.

I have visited Kramatorsk, Kharkiv and Kaniv this summer and noticed the mental health crisis only indirectly. Such as with my friend Svetlana who was internally displaced in 2014 and again in 2022. She has sought therapy and is continuing to do so. Now I am back in Switzerland but the worry about what is happening in Donbas stayed with me.

We love you. We're praying for you. When we have support to send, we will. Things are not too good over here for us in the US right now, either. From a person whom has been through burnout, I encourage you, it is not the end. It is a phase and it will pass. God gives rest to those whom he loves. Take it when he gives it to you, it is important. It feels worse than it really is. We have these three things that remain, faith, hope, and love. The greatest of these is love. My best advice is to be proactively loving. Go hug someone who's hurting. Hug yourself. Snuggle your pet. Let tears out because they help detoxify your body. Remember, others have been through this before us. Our ancestor's survived with less than we we have now. In our weakness, let the Holy Spirit be made strong. With love, from America.

Musk owns twitter and he supports russia. Therefore, time spent on that site indirectly supports russia. I understand your need to have a presence there and have control of your name on there, though. I am amazed at Ukrainian resilience. A hurricane is bad, but when the storm is over, we can rebuild, confident that what is repaired will last. You don't have that luxury in a war. Great vlog, Eugenia, thank you so much.
I really like Greta Thunberg, Jane! She is one smart cookie! That's why those idiots who berate her feel threatened by her intellect and good common sense and foresight. She is also very pretty, I agree. Natural beauty also comes from within. Most people know that when someone you were attracted to turns nasty towards you, they suddenly don't look pretty or attractive anymore, do they?!!! Your personality is your boost to how people perceive you, that's what I reckon. Beauty as well as ugliness come from within, in my opinion. That's why we are drawn to you, Eugenia, you radiate beauty from within. You're a good soul.
Good people lift others up, they don't put other good people down. During war, like during our ww2 here in the UK, yes, we were all in the same boat... a lot of good people coming together at gatherings of all sorts to lift each other's morale up and keep spirits (emotional well-being) high and in good shape.
Trauma can have a bit of a knock-on effect, but the secret to learning how to come through trauma, is to create whatever positivity you can, whilst also comforting others. You actually get something *really* positive back when you show compassion, share the tears and the better times too... and you don't show compassion just to get those positives back, they just happen as a result of doing the good stuff! Yay! Here we call those who only want to be there for the good times, "fair-weather friends". I guess they get to miss out on the happier times they could also share.
Walking is so cool. I walk when my brain-fog takes up too much space. And creative things, yes, I can definitely say they are a positive distraction. I sew, knit, do art, write poetry, or any other crafting that interests me. It gives your mind a break from the sad stuff you have to deal with.
"Always leave space for happiness to fit in!" That's what my UA Dad used to say. I'm sure that kept him going through the frontline battles he had to fight during ww2... in fact, I *know* it was. Yes, he cried, he felt huge sorrows, but the majority of his personality was positive and he had an excellent sense of humour, he was very kind and giving, and I reckon that made him feel good. He never wanted or even thought he'd have to fight and kill during war, but he did help us to all not lose ww2.
It wasn't the medals, it was his memories that he was proud of. Coming through it all against all of those things, must be the best feeling we can pat ourselves on the back for)

Yeah, we tend to not comment so much on ''natural beauty" bc it seems everyday... it's like commenting that the sky is pretty. I do know that in the US and UK being seen without makeup is almost like going outside without shoes or something. it's not their fault but their cultures were SUPER up-tight about their appearance ''in public", so it's see almost as rude to NOT have your face done up. That's probably where all the haters are from, i'm pretty sure. Funny story about that tho, most of the makeup just gives them acne and early wrinkles, lol! Don't tell them I told you tho :P, lol.

I would like to offer a suggestion. If you showed the country and how it is coping, I would watch.
How did the education change? Did Ukraine repurpose tourist hotels as, say schools? What effects has the war had on women working, women raising children? They get different jobs now, yeah? Can you tell some stories about how Ukrainian civilians support the war effort? Actually, better yet, let those people tell the stories.
Are people learning to shoot fire-arms? Do they stock food more? Does everyone always carry a flashlight? (I would.) A woman told me that you cannot get an Uber when Russian missiles are incoming because they jam the GPS. I thought about that for days.
How has culture pivoted? Another person told me that Ukrainian accounting systems are transitioning out of the Russian language to the Ukrainian language. That would be an interesting story (to me).
I have suspected that there are a lot of shadowy visitors from military and government agencies in the west. Possibly you may not see them at all.
I heard amazing stories of families whose relatives live in Russia and have an astonishingly different view of current event. Some of those families will be cloven forever.
The key is to get stories (and ideally interviews) from Ukrainian civilians. It feels like an original basis for a channel.

European governments have one job : to defend the space in which our democratic laws are enforced. When war was declared in 1939 my grandmother wept , her son was in the air force , he died in 1943 , killed by Korean guards as he tired to escape from a prison hell ship, my grandparents would learn about it years later. My parents turned fear and uncertainty to action and defiance. My mum could never be compensated for the loss of her beloved brother, a brother who sent her brave words from a fortress in Singapore that would be impossible to defend as a bastion of an empire but her generation changed the world. They turned the empire to a commonwealth and the commonwealth to a band of friends who lived to love and loved to live. My parents learned to cope by reacting to uncertainty, they fed the neighbourhood with rabbits and supervised the neighbourhood in bomb shelters. Their defiance is the bedrock upon which our world is built and we will do all we can to support your defiance.

There is one upside to doing a lot of makeup on camera, on youtube. The trolls will never be able to recognize you in real life >:)!!! Just saying. I was thinking of doing that if I ever actually go on camera. That's my back up plan. So far I still suck at it tho. But I just wanted to figure out how to do makeup well enough to look totally different then my usual self and then I can be in ''disguise" in public or on camera! Hehehehe! But that's just me. I would absolutely hate being recognized by people I don't know.
You could do a super glam makeup video and then just flip them all off and go back to no-make up too, lol. Just to make a statement.😅 I may be the only one who's into this, but it always seemed so fun to me if I could be in disguise whenever I wanted to! Like Halloween on demand! 😁😁😁😁😂😂😂😂
... I watched too many crazy movies growing up, don't judge me, I can't always help myself. I also match make up videos to put myself to sleep, lol. There's something about them, I instantly go 😴😴😴😴. If you want suggestions of channels, let me know!

I don't understand what stupid people said to you, but you are a beautiful and interesting woman. As for war, only people who are too foolish or immoral support a murderous madman. The same goes for those who justify a savage invasion in the 21st century. These people probably don't know what it's like to live with anxiety, surely fearing that a missile will fall at any moment, and without knowing where. Finding a way to distract your mind so you don't fall is very good. A big hug Eugenia! SLAVA UKRAINE! 💙💙💙💛💛💛 ¿Eugenia igual que en español?

Thank you for your kind words and support. It's true that living with the constant fear of missile attacks is incredibly challenging. A big hug to you too))))))
