@@tonyrodney9610 I found the color accuracy acceptable for me to edit while on the go. If you have doubts, since I was using Lightroom CC you could check it against your own monitor via synced lightroom cc photos.
I upgraded my Tab S7 to the Tab S8+ (512gb w/16gb RAM) for a recent trip to Thailand. Used it for photo and video backup from my Sony A7 IV. For transferring I used the Image Edge app via WiFi Direct and it works flawlessly with the A7 IV. I dumped over 2,000 photos and 24gb+ of videos to the installed 1TB micro SD card which backed up to Google Drive. The editing on LR mobile is not bad, as I'm shooting with lossless compressed RAW averaging 48mb per file, and I exported over 100 high quality JPG images before returning home. Now, if Adobe would make a better version of Photoshop for Android... Overall I'm satisfied with the Tab S8+.
This is very encouraging as I am considering the Tab S8 for Lightroom editing while traveling. I just wonder how much difference there might be between the S8 and S8+ for editing.
I'd be interested to see a follow up using second screen and a laptop with a pen still. Idea being you can pick up where ever you left off in your workflow while having all the same edits in the catalog or session still.
I've tried something similar to this with an iPad and my Mac while using Adobe Lightroom CC. Now I just operate using Adobe Lightroom CC on the go for photos I know I can edit immediately while AFK haha. Then I just come up and import the photos via the iPad or via the Lightroom CC on the desktop.
Hi, thanks for this great video. I'm going to think about a Samsung tablet for photo editing. But what software do you use for editing, you didn't say? Is it expensive? Any other good alternatives?
Great, informative and concise video. I am thinking about getting back into photography again and was wondering if my Galaxy tab S8 ultra would be sufficient for my editing requirements - now I know after 8 minutes that it is. Thanks!
Reading your comments I think you could give me some insight . Iv been debating with Samsung over iPad for Lightroom /photoshop . Are the mobile apps the same in terms of functionalities? I know the mobile apps are limited , I wonder if there is an edge to either iPad vs galaxy? Also would you say one would typically be faster at processing over the other? I saw you use the air , I was debating on the 11 inch pro bc I believe it’s screen is brighter than the air , However I think the Samsung screen would be better than all the iPads other than the 12 inch, I Think the Samsung has the highest resolution otherwise , but I also do feel the Samsung screens colors might be a bit off . But if you had to choose one over the other , strictly off of performance , what do you think? I can’t figure it out easily , Iv never used these types of devices before so I’ll trying to digest all the options
The functionalities are basically the same. I’m not well versed in the technology of the different processors but I wouldn’t recommend going all in on iPad pros for a mobile device for lightroom. Based on my experience I really haven’t seen a difference in performance between both ipad 11 and the tab 8. It depends how you plan to use this in the bigger picture. My workflow is best with mac. Perhaps if you want more storage with a sd card slot, use samsung. Sorry couldnt be more of help.
Subscribed. You are magaling!! Thanks to this video - you have convinced me to buy Tab S8 Ultra as I wanted photo editing on the go for my upcoming overseas trip. Thanks.
Maramin salamat! Glad to help you find a device for you. It definitely is a great experience through the edit. I much enjoy editing my photos on a tablet vs computer.
Im really hating my Tab S9 Ultra right now. I cant import todays shoot without picking them one by one! On a separate video I saw someone picking files by day instead of "select all" and importing easily
I'm looking at getting a tablet. Do you know if you can run windows apps not in the play store? Is it able to run LR classic? Have you tried tethered shooting with the tablet?
I know it has dex but it runs play store apps. No LR classic, only cc. You can only tether your camera thru native camera brand apps like Sony’s edge app.
How fast is the Micro Sd in the Tab S8 when used for photo storage? Is the gallery fluid as an Ipad Pro? Thinking of getting the S8 Ultra with 1Tb Micro Sd card and dumping my photo collection on the card. Problem is that I have around 750gb of photos and if they're a laggy mess when you scroll the gallery I won't bother with it and get an Ipad instead. Could you please let me know your thoughts about this?
I haven't used this product for a while now as I have resorted to using an iPad Air due to the ecosystem that I am in. When I was using the Tab S8 the speed for the Micro SD was fine. When I use my iPad Air (4th gen) everything works pretty well and is importing doesn't take much long to import either. I'm in the works of making a video about this.
@Mike B Salazar thank you. I used for a few years an Ipad Pro 11 2nd gen for all my photo editing. It was brilliant even for massive Fujifilm GFX medium format RAW files. I need more storage so I'm debating if I can move to Samsung but there are certain aspects these reviews don't cover
Oh that's pretty valid. I use a 256gb (if not 128gb) and it's pretty good for week trips and all. But the Samsung turned out to be more functional than I thought it would be. Photographer Demas Rusli is someone who loves using Samsung products if you haven't checked his stuff out yet.
Can you do multitasking with Lightroom? Have another app next to it or on top of in portrait mode? I always see it in full screen and can’t find any info…
I can’t quite comment because it’s been so long the ipad pro a few years back vs the this years galaxy tab. But the viewing quality of this was excellent with the detail, colors, and brightness was great. If I used to think samsung wasnt comparable to an ipad but this was changed my mind.
@@MikeBSalazar thanks for getting back to me. Your video was the only one to feature photo editing on the S8 and I do prefer the S8 form factor, so was curious to know whether the extra £200 for a Super AMOLED screen was worth it. This has helped 🙂
If only the galaxy tab s8+ was tft display like this one, maybe i will chose it. What matters to me the most especially when it comes to a big screen tablet is the durability of the screen display. Can i ask if its capable of editing a 4k video from go pro for this tab s8??

Can you edit from the external drive or do the photos need do be on the tab s8? Great video btw!
Unfortunately you have to copy it over.

If you don't need to be in the Apple ecosystem, this is great choice for sure!
How about posting it in fb.. Is the quality good?
Thank you
Awesome presentation thank you, Could you tell me what is the best photo editing software for this tablet please, free and pay versions.
Glad you find it useful. Besides Adobe Lightroom, other apps you could try are Snapseed (free), Darkroom (I believe free), and VSCO (free).

Thank you for the sub! I don’t remember the exact time but it wasn’t much longer than the import time.
You should've imported the same photos for the test to be accurate as the file size of each file is different.

Do you use an iPhone or Android? Would you say it's worthwhile to get the Samsung tablets over an iPad Pro even if I have an iPhone and Macbook Air?
I was using an iPhone and Mac at the time. Since this video I have switched to the iPad so I could easily airdrop files.
What is best app for RAW files photos editing on Samsung Tab ?

Can’t say its better. It depends on your workflow. I have seen switched to the iPad since I operate on Mac, so workflow is easier with file transfers.
