Older cameras have a look. Especially those with an older CCD sensor. But anyone who has ever shot with actual film know that literally nothing and I mean absolutely nothing looks anything NEAR a filmstock or cinematic look. There is nothing with these cameras that you can't do with any other modern cameras either. Want to limit your dynamic range like shitty 2010 cameras? Go to your custom picture profile and increase contrast. Want to have shitty throw away camera colors? Decrease sharpness, Increase contrast, and saturation. Shoot everything with a flash and lift the blacklevel. Make sure you fuck up your white balance too. Especially with (current) Sony cameras, you have a lot of settings you can tweak to make it behave like these overpriced TikTok cameras and they will do the thing you want way better. But if you really want more analog film-like cameras, you are better off buying something like a Fuji who actually do the entire 'film emulation' thing in body than buying a decade old camera.

I’m a step closer to my dream camera (x100VI as I don’t buy used)…thank you easily influenced TikTok people!

As a Canon shooter, why? Should of went with one of the Sony ZV options. For a PowerShot, it's pretty much a G5X Mark II or nothing at all and with that, I still wouldn't recommend it lol. Would go with an R50 & a compact prime lens instead.
Some people only go after hype. They dont care if there is a better option. One person decides they have to make a video justifying their purchase and the others just follow.
My old mirror-less camera now costs the same (if not more) thank back in 2016... And there seem to be no new affordable compact models coming to the market... Crazy! :(
I am glad that the huge interest Tick Tock brought back the point & shoot camera, it was on very of dying out. The current crop P&S cameras is way better than any that was available even 5 years ago. The Sony EV series seems to be the gold standard in P&S camera. Under adverse conditions these camera are better than most of the phone cameras.
Any new point and shoot will massively outperform any phone camera, and will in turn look like a toy against a dslr/mirrorless system. For the money, these cameras are for idiots rather than photographers

The newest version is the ones that's selling for a lot right now. You can find the older versions for $150 still. IPHONE users are buying these Samsung s23 and 24 are far superior in the camera department.
The Sony RX100 II and III are close to the G7X in desirability but the G7X is the best of the three. I happen to own all three. It is more fun and enjoyable to use. The image quality is better too, especially the colors.

If you're going to buy old or moody tech make sure you're pulling the right moves, this thing has your phone's tech except for the xenon flash and no computational photography. Should've gone after a ccd sensor or something.
