  • I have now completed the majority of work on the sand quarry extension. The original siding was too short because of lack of space. Rather than adding just a few centimetres to the siding, I decided to extend it further to include a run round loop and link it back to the main line. Peckforton Light Railway is a mythical three foot narrow gauge railway which might have served the copper mines and local communities beside the Peckforton Hills in Cheshire UK. It is modelled in 15mm scale and 45mm gauge in the garden. For more information see riksrailway.blo... - Music "Holiday Weasel" by Kevin McLeod (incompetech.com ). Always interesting but also lots of fun watching the little engines going about their work. Gateway is a nice touch.

What a wonderful garden railway you have created, although, as project, it can always be continued when inspiration and the mood takes you. Thank you for sharing it in such a professional manner. It is much enjoyed and appreciated.

A wonderful film it is funny what comes in handy I wish I had used concrete blocks for the 1st section of my railway but I had a big pile of bricks so I used them. I can see that one day your garden will become an entire railway with the lawn replaced with another section of line and sidings. More films please they keep me and a lot of other railway engineers very inspired. 😀

I'm surprised you're adding another castle to the line

Hi Michael. This is probably one of the only places in the UK where two castles are in sight of each other - though Peckforton Castle is Victorian Gothic rather than Medieval - sandstonetrail.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/two_castles_1000x666-2.jpg
