Peckforton Light Railway - A Stroll Down the Line

- In this video, we take a virtual stroll down the Peckforton Light Railway from Beeston Market to Bickerton. It takes a whole day (we stroll very slowly) and so on our walk we see every train on that day passing by. Peckforton Light Railway is a hypothetical 3' narrow gauge railway which might well have existed in the 1930s Cheshire (UK) countryside serving the copper mines and the local sand quarry as well as the local community. Thank you as always. It is snowing here today. I must give the cows a little extra feed, I better get on the tractor and go. Bob Shufflebotham
Good to hear they are keeping you busy, Bob ..... ;-)
Each episode is like a chapter from a English novel. Superb content.
Enjoyed it very much .Hope there more.
I'm working on another today - while the weather is still fine ;-)
Great film!
A beautifully filmed and edited representation of a highly credible operating railway. Thank you - what a delight!
Thanks Tom. Really glad you enjoyed it. I'm really pleased you feel it's credible - that's what I've been aiming for.
That's amazing I had a garden railway a few years ago after watching this video I might do another one I can't understand why you got a dislike its a great video jealous I guess thanks for posting it .
Thanks for that. A true compliment indeed. Maybe someone doesn't think model steam locos should be powered by batteries?
I've just subscribed now look what you have made me do iam buying trains again thanks great channel cheers 🍻
You are a brilliant storyteller, I really enjoy your videos
Thanks Roy. That means a lot. I've avoided too much narration up to now but a few people said they preferred it to captions so I thought I'd give it a try
Quite well done!!!!
Thanks Dave - five exclamation marks .... I think that must mean you enjoyed it ;-)
Wonderful! A magnificent railway and a lovely imaginative commentary. Much enjoyed,, many thanks.
Thanks Michael. It's encouraging to get such positive feedback. I'm already planning the next video...... 🤔
Excellent narration well done, I didn’t want the story to end. Your line is a thing of beauty you should be very proud.
Thanks Stan. Encouraging to get positive feedback. I, of course, only see the flaws in the videography and script.
Nothing we create seems to come out perfect in our own eyes, I know this from being a woodworker. I see what I perceive as the flaws and the mistakes. I had to learn to put away the magnifying lens of perfection and learn to see my creations as others do. Only then did the slight run in the varnish or the slightly mis matched grain disappear and I began to enjoy what I created. A fellow who has the site called u b railroad is a indoor G-scale modeler he taught me what others call mistakes he refers to as adding character to the project.
Your.production is very well done, your Tonal qualities are spot on you could do professional narration as your voice has that quality that is enjoyable to listen too. I could see you doing your own version of Thomas the train. I hope you will consider other garden rail themed stories. Best of luck to you.
Stan.
I always watch your videos, such a brilliant railway many thanks for posting and look forward to the next video.
Many thanks. I'm so glad you enjoy watching. Although each session follows the same timetable, my computer based freight manager creates interesting shunting problems for me to solve and I sometimes include special trains for some variety.
@@rikbennett9 Hi again it would be great to see a shunting video at the Peckforton Light Railway.
@edoc2 Your wish is my command ...... One I made earlier - ruclips.net/video/zaUPzlYPC7U/видео.html
Lovely video, lovely narrating, lovely rolling stock and a lovely line! Amazing video, well done!
Really enjoy your video's. Have gotten a lot of ideas from them for my own garden railroad. Even though I'm in the U.S. I still found a lot of value. lol Thank you !
Thanks Dan. I imagine railways/railroads must operate more or less in the same way everywhere. I've certainly picked up quite a few ideas from all sorts of places. I really love Bob Treat's Snow Creek Railroad for example.... ;-) - ruclips.net/video/sHYDZei5Fyw/видео.html
Great trains and lovable layout! Where you had found this nice ore cars? Thanks , keep safe and cheers, Fabrizio
Thanks Fabrizio. The ore tippers are LGB, the sand hoppers are scratchbuilt bodies on HLW chassis
@@rikbennett9 Hi, I now know, you repainted in maroon the LGB ore tippers that originally was painted in red; your modification about coulor made cars more realistic! With my compliments! All the best, Fabrizio
This has really inspired me to make my own railroad/way
Good luck. I'm sure you won't regret it.
Thanks
Fantastic!,, at all levels,,, but.....no steam?.....
I have one live steam loco, but only use it occasionally. I prefer battery locos. They run all day on a single charge, they are easy to control, especially at low speed and cost a fraction of a live steamer. Battery locos suit the way I like to run my railway.
Does Bickerton have a new whistle, it sounds different
I've not changed the soundcard, but I might have tweaked the sound the last time I reprogrammed it. Full marks for your attention to detail, though.
