Thanks so much for the video, hubby and I are planning on doing this next week, haven't done a massive amount of tramping so am grateful for you showing what the track to the top is like. Plus great to know your time

The last 100m was a bit of a scramble... it was the fun bit!

Looks like a good location for hang gliding apart from the sheer beauty of the place and views.
I visited Pauanui, seems like a perfect place to have a second home or retire.

Definitely a nice place to retire... hang gliding not so sure about, not that many good landing launching spots, have been on some stunning gliding flights from nearby ... para gliding maybe??

Looks some steps on this trekking.
    Harder than Tongariro alpine crossing?

Sorry for late reply didn't realise that comments had been disabled.... No it's much shorter than Tongariro if you are quick it's a half day... awesome view ...just pick a clear day

do you think it would be okat to do the first part in the early hours of the morning? like around 3am or 4am?

With a head torch you should be fine... the last part actually getting up the pinncales has some ladders etc. but the bulk of the hike is on well marked trails. Be an aseome spot for sunrise! ... Have fun

Your not supposed to buy greenstone for yourself otherwise it's not effective. Greenstone should always be gifted. You can use one you find as it mean it was meant for you but should always take it to a maori elder 1st just to double check before wearing xx
