    Fantastic paintings.
    What a loss that he died so early. He is missed by many people all over the world,
    not only in the United States.
    The world needs more of this kind of paintings!
    We need more light and more colors to illuminate an otherwise rather dark world.

      @bobb1870 5 лет назад +3

      Yes, he died while under the influence of drugs and alcohol in the company of his girlfriend. But he and his wife were separated and living separate lives as the divorce proceeded.
      Kinkade was a human being, who as we learned struggled a long time with allot of stuff. He didn't deal with it well, and the result is dying. His art was an escape not just for us, but him.
      Because one is a Christian or not, we decive ourselves. I have no doubt he would pray to God. If Kinkade had gone to rehab and counseling, he would be alive today.
      As an artist, I like the multi-media approach he took. He studied his craft and got rich because of it. If he had spent a little more time on his mind and body, the art would have been richer and truer to our daily lives. It's okay to show the good and bad of life together, nothing is perfect.

    His work is quite beautiful, but young artists, please note that you should not paint oil over acrylics because in time the art will crack and peel off! FYI also, Oil paintings are more desired by collectors because they last for hundreds of years and stand the test of time. It is a good idea to work on several oil paintings at once as while you are waiting for the underpainting (local area color to dry on one painting before you put the detail in, you can be working on another painting or two). This works well for me because when you get bored with one you can keep the artistic excitement going by starting another work. To get fine detail on your painting, its a good idea to put down a coat or two of gesso which smooths the tooth of your canvas.

    • @chriswhitehouse8982
      @chriswhitehouse8982 5 лет назад

      It seems like many many people paint oil over acrylics or will first block in with acrylics or at the very least, tone the canvas with acrylic paint before doing their oil painting. Are you saying that all of these will crack and peel off?

    • @realartstudiosllc4216
      @realartstudiosllc4216 5 лет назад

      @@chriswhitehouse8982 - It is possible that it may peel off. Experts have stated this. I didn't make this up. To preserve your art, best to only use one medium or the other so it lasts as long as possible.

    • @chriswhitehouse8982
      @chriswhitehouse8982 5 лет назад

      Not to belabor the point, but from Winsor & Newton:When acrylic colours first became widely available in the 1950’s and 60’s, there was a reluctance to recommend overpainting them with oil colours because of suggestions that this might be unsound - notably the fact that the acrylic colour does not become brittle with age like oil colour, so an inflexible oil colour film over a flexible acrylic film could lead to cracking.
      In practice these fears have not been confirmed and at Winsor & Newton we are not aware of a single case of cracking caused by painting in oil colour over acrylic, either as a complaint from a customer or in laboratory tests.
      However, it is recommended that if you are overpainting acrylics with oil then keep the acrylic layer thin, absorbent and fairly “lean” to limit its flexibility. It is still not recommended to paint with oil colour over thick impasto layers of acrylics, due to the flexibility differences in the layers during the drying process.
