This is actually the first guide that makes it easy to understand wave states and conditions during laning phase besides the standard pushing wave = roam or push wave = reset. Subscribed :)
It's incredible how well you put all your high level complex knowledge into simple concepts you can share to teach, I think everyone is able to understand you without issues, you're talented as teacher!
I've been hardstuck master for about 3 seasons now, I really enjoy deepening my knowledge of the game in general on any roles. Thanks to this guide and your previous guides, I feel like I'm becoming a much better player than I was previously.
im silver 4 in flex, should be higher, but iron 3 in solo, cuz ive been playing so many champs and roles, but things have been clicking and a aha moment ive had recently
Daddy, no, Daddy? I am gold 4 for 1 season and a half. :( cause I start the game 1 season and a half ago. but this guide really helps me improve, cause i was silver 4 before, we all were right.
As someone who just started playing this season and is being thrown against mid silver - plat opponents because of my team being so much more higher elo than me, I've had to consume a lot of "how to" videos on pretty much the basics even. Most guides I've seen tend to inculde things like "see what this guy is doing, you should never freeze there or crash there" but they ~never follow up with "because..", which is the most important thing for me to be able to get the reasoning behind bad plays (which I make, a lot). This was a really informative video for me personally, because of things like hugging the vision, which I never think of, even though it's such an obvious thing you should be considering. Really looking forward to consume more of your guides, awesome work!
Right. The whole trend of, "This is a bad idea!" without any explanation is just really not helpful. It only makes sense to people who already know the game, and if that's you then you wouldn't be watching anyways.
Theres literally no comparable league teaching videos on the internet. That literally is so much usefull, thats what everyone need to improve. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge, every single of your videos has a really high value, that made me improve a lot already and i keep grinding thanks to you
I stopped playing league for a few years and only recently came back because of my gf starting to play it and finding those videos now just reignites my fun with the game. I feel like ur videos are actually helping with fundamentals.
best general midline guide on the internet that i have found lol.. so much detail so many gr8 things to consider now.. most difficult part is learning other champions kits
thanks for taking the time to make this video , this is all you need guys , each section of this video needs like 50 game practice focus, the entire guide you need to mid lane , tyvm shock
Respect man u help a lot sadly the longer the video the less people will attract... That's because people are lazy and want to become the best within a 10 min video xd... Don't stop you help people who actually want to become smarter
yeah thing is smart people know that you won't become a better player with only 10min video guides, and I guess shok makes content for people who actually want to go in depth with some lol concepts & that's really sweet coz it's so scarse on yt
I actually prefer something like this where it covers the topic in depth over some short little vid that promises, "USE THIS ONE NEAT TRICK FOR FREELO!!!!!"
Wanting to get back in league after some years out(worst idea ever) and i was searching for this kind of stuff, your video is clear and have both quantity and quality in it. Clearly deserving more vision!
@@ShokLeague I'm excited to see more content from you! I took a look at your twitch and it doesn't seem like you use it, and the discord link didn't lead anywhere. Is there anywhere else you post stuff?
I‘ve talked to a friend that I am gold/plat hardstuck and don‘t know where to start to improve. This video is right what I was asking for! Thank you very much!
In a ranged vs melee you mostly showed how to play when you have a winning matchup. Only a glimpse of a loosing matchup as corki vs ire. Vex is hard counter to yone, cass is hard counter to yone. It's good to see how to punish but it's way more important (at least for me) to see how to play from behind. How to win a loosing matchup.
Good feedback, definitely could've talked about it more. I did talk about this a bit in the Showmaker video I did so if you didn't watch that check it out. Maybe I'll do a general video about playing/laning from behind.
Another question: How much does a potential scuttle fight at 3:15 affect your decisions to 2 or 3 wave crash/freeze when the junglers start on the same side?
Not as much anymore since scuttles are less important, but if they start on the same side you definitely want to just make sure you have some priority around that time in case there are invades
I have never really played Mid in my 12 years of league. It seems like the most complex role in the game. The trades and CS are so much more valuable due to the roaming aspect. It's making me excited to play again.
@@ShokLeague Yes, you definitely should! If you make like a professional textbook/guide, I would even pay for it! You teach SO well. No fluff, concise and straight to the point - with good examples.
@@ShokLeague Since these videos are so long, it’s difficult to remember everything. And overwhelming/time-consuming to go back for refreshers. It would be easier to have these videos in text format so you can quickly review some key topics before our next ranked matches and try to implement them into our games. And develop building blocks of becoming a fundamentally sound mid laner like you :)
Love everything you’ve made so far, but sometimes I struggle to see what a win con is as the game develops and I may have won my lane but we are still behind, is there any chance you could do a video on how to assess game state and win con in solo que?
These videos are so great ! It’s so interesting, and it really has everything that you need to know, you do a crazy work ! It’s not a criticism at all, but maybe you could try to add a bit of music ? Like Lofi type music, I don’t know, maybe it could add to the entertainment ! I can’t wait to see more stuff like this, and maybe commented games or other, I love your channel !
There are two things that I have either missed or werent in the videos ive seen. First, what exactly is a slowpush and how do you do it? You mentioned it in a few of your coaching vods with Zoe. Also, in one of the vods you advised him to practice his farming for 5 minutes a day. How would you practice this effectively? Do you just practice last hitting minions, or is it combinations of techniques such as slowpushes
Normally for a slowpush you just want to have more minions than your opponent, but not so many that it pushes quickly. Basically you want a 1 minion advantage normally, and then you just let the creep wave push as opposed to you touching it

Hi Shok, great stuff as always! I main control mages and have some idea about opening the lane and wave crashes, but I'm always confused how to start melee vs melee lanes. Should I always try to get slowpush on the first wave and get level 2 earlier? Or it depends on the matchup, eg. I shouldn't even try in a losing one? Any rules of thumb you could recommend here?
It's pretty hard, normally if you are winning you will want to push (again for creep advantage) but if you are so strong 1v1 that you can win even without creep advantage you might want to let it come to you. Also some melees push really fast e.g. nocturne so they normally push even in losing melee matchups. It's kinda hard to give a rule of thumb for melee matchups and your best bet is just to experiment or look up the matchup you're trying to play on YT
